We have a mamas and papas occaro at home but for holiday we bought a cheapish umbrella fold one. It’s been brilliant. So lightweight and you’re not worried about it getting chucked around on the plane! We now use it for nursery run as well as they have a store cupboard you can leave small fold up strollers in. Again- no worries about it getting damaged or going missing

I was feeling fairly smug about having minimal stretch marks on my tummy. Except that I just used a mirror to look “down there” so I could try and wax 😅 and found a whole bunch down by my bikini line. Hilarious as it means I literally haven’t been able to see my lady garden for months now and haven’t even bothered looking 😅😅

4 weeks till maternity. Luckily the ladies in my room are amazing and don't let me do anything apart from the paperwork. Trying to do a handover for new room leader but I'm in countdown mode and my brain is frazzled.

Anyone here with O- blood and had the anti-d injection? Is it true they inject it into your buttcheek? I’m fine with needles etc but the thought of one in my arse is making me cringe. 🤣

Also, an update on the drama with my parents… the air has been cleared with my dad but my step-mum is refusing to speak to me and isn’t sure if she wants to be involved. So now my dad feels torn between his wife and daughter/grand-daughter. ✌🏻 I watched a YouTube video last night where someone said it’s an amazing feeling watching the people you love, love your children. And it made me feel sad that my own parents can’t remove their heads from their arses. 🫤

@RoseyThorney @Kaylarina i thought I was just being stroppy and overly emotional but the more I think about it the more angry I get 😂

Novelty when they’re a newborn and then nothing at any other stage! You know they’ll be the same people as well that don’t respect boundaries and come with coughs and colds because they don’t actually care about anything 🙃

Yeah I agree, baby boys clothes are like none existent or just really boring. I don't want to dress a boy in a baby grow full of tractors! And the neutral stuff is very few and far between. Really life 2024 problems 🤣🤣
This is so shallow I know but it’s one of the reasons I want a girl 🤣 I’m bored to death of vehicles/monsters/grey/navy and then as they grow up, Minecraft/marvel/spiderman/hulk etc 😅 gimme florals and dusty rose hues 🙏🏻🙏🏻

My round ligament pains are crazy. I've spent the past hour barely able to move and it's only now my hot water bottle and paracetamol is slowly starting to kick in. No one I spoke to warned me about how excruciating this pain would be.

If I continue to be a low risk pregnancy then I can give birth in my hospitals mid-wife led unit which has private rooms. But if there's complications or I want an epidural then I'd be moved to a consultant led unit and would be moved onto a ward after birth with other women. I really hope I can stay on the midwife unit and have a nice private room but who knows what will happen.

I love my HV. I asked her to do the 8 week check questions as I had concerns, she said she couldn’t remember the last time she’d done one. She was very reassuring, kind, complimentary even (that I’d noticed the problem and asked for help, rather than making me feel like an OTT mum), helped us get referrals and is coming out for a follow up soon.
The follow up GP appointment, the GP said the HV and previous GP were being over zealous, they couldn’t make referrals at that stage etc however there is an issue so the HV was correct to be over cautious.
Maybe I got lucky but with mine I think it’s one of those where you get out what you put in.

MILs are hard but I do feel once baby is here they get the hint fairly quickly. When we text parents to announce we popped at the bottom something like ‘please don’t share our news, we’ll tell wider family when we are ready’

we bought a ring doorbell and if we weren’t expecting visitors we simply didn’t answer the door.

and try say ‘no’ once in the early days to set off on a strong foot and get them used to ‘disappointment’. In the early days you do end up with lots of appts etc so if you have a midwife appt in the morning then say you’re busy that day so no they can’t come, not even in the afternoon, just so they know that having an hour of free time doesn’t mean it’s for them.

We had a scan at 16 weeks and the sonographer said he was 100% sure of the sex. Had our 20 week nhs scan last week and the sonographer said she thinks she knows what the gender is. Put the emoji on to cover what they think gender is lol

Any thoughts?
Defo girl, if it was a boy you'd know about it no doubts 🤣

Yes, I nearly accidentally bought one! Looked to be zero alcohol and then in the back in small writing 'less than 0.5%'. From googling it seems the only decent ones are sparkling and very expensive so will just have to suck it up I guess and have a whiff of other people's.
Legally 0.5% counts as no alcohol because it’s so low. Just fyi!

Still in a limbo with this pregnancy. 14w4d atm and my next appointment with Fetal Medicine isn’t until just over 16 weeks.
It’s just all waiting to be at a certain stage for testing as one of the main options I have from Fetal Medicine is an Amniocentesis.
I hadn’t thought too much about it but I started having nightmares about it the last few nights and my sleep has been so shit because of it. If anyone has had one before please tell me your experience and if it was really as bad as I’m putting it in my head.

5 weeks tomorrow!

can someone reassure me that they’ve had no symptoms at this stage and still gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I’d already been in hospital with severe vomiting at this point in my first pregnancy, and beyond gagging at the smell of nursery on Monday, I haven’t even had any nausea yet!
Some days I had symptoms and others I didn't. Midwife said it was perfectly normal. My mum didn't have any when she was pregnant with my sister.

23 weeks! Baby does not stop kicking! Every scan he never behaves. I kinda like it. My cheeky boy.

I'm getting fed up of having no desire to eat, cook or have any ability to decide what to eat for dinners. Take aways are £40+ each time so I really need to try and stop relying on them. I made a chicken and sweetcorn soup yesterday and half way through the chicken was making me gag. Everything OH suggests to cook is putting me off too. I've been to Tesco this morning to just get a complete selection of snacks (salt and vinegar twirls are my bestie rn). I'm hoping 2nd trimester I'll pick back up and can get back to normal 🤣

Anyone else just kind of forget they’re pregnant and then get a swift kick to the cervix or catch sight of yourself in a mirror and be like shit maybe I really am pregnant?! 😂

I don’t know when it’s actually going to feel real for me, maybe when she turns 35 or gets a mortgage? 😂 I think it’s because we’ve been trying and waiting so long but I can’t wrap my head around it!
I definitely don't forget I'm pregnant because I've not felt myself since the beginning but the actual having a baby part, and it being forever, doesn't feel real. I can't picture him being a real person and my life changing so drastically.

I’m finishing at 36 weeks. I saved 2 weeks holiday so only got 2 weeks left at work and it can’t come quick enough.
Really feeling just huge at the min, I’m getting comments like ‘wow look big you’re getting’ and I know they mean well but it’s really getting me down, I don’t know why anybody would say comments like that! 😢
