I could have written this myself! My trust have a bereavement midwife and peri natal mental health, both of which have been amazing with me. It’s hard not to beat yourself up but you’ve got to remember if you were a tit mum you wouldn’t care like this.

I think lots of us feel like this but people just put a front on for social media and it’s all gender reveals and cute gifts and baby showers and people don’t talk about this side of it all 🩷
I had a miscarriage last year (1st pregnancy) and I have existing MH issues. Perinatal MH team have been fantastic when I said I was struggling. My midwife has been great too.

my husband wanted some of my maternity leave and I said absolutely not 🤣🤣🤣 soz hun I’ve earned it hahah
my husband only gets 2 weeks as a teacher. Fortunatly baby is due about half term and he can now split it so if she comes on time he can have 1 week pat, 1 week 1/2 term, 1 week pat.

my friends husband saved up annual leave and I know some who have taken unpaid. My husband doesn’t even have the option to take any unpaid leave from school :(

I’ve 2 cabin size suitcases packed, one for me and one for baby. I’ve a backpack packed also with a mix of stuff in case of a longer stay.
All 3 will go in the car and we’ll take them out as needed.
oh really! I don’t have any smaller suitcases, I might have to take a look now there’s some sales on

I'm doing pretty much the same. Plus a massive bag of snacks and Mr B will have his own little holdall too.
I say this but at 37 weeks I've only just managed to finish packing my bag, and the thought of packing babys is making my brain melt 😅

Snacks are top of my list! And getting lots of nice food in for the first few weeks postpartum. I already have a list of food prep I'm planning to freeze and cakes I want in 😂

What bags did everyone use please?
I’ve bought this bag for myself in size M and it’s huge so definitely don’t need to go for L! It’s got loads of compartments so great for keeping things organised. Then for baby I’ve got a cabin bag size holdall which everything fits in nicely and the same for my partner which has my towel, snacks, things to keep us occupied in early stages of labour and then a change of clothes/toiletries etc for him.

Just heard babies heartbeat at 25 week appointment. Kept it together in the doctors but very emotional at home now 😂😭

So I’ve taken up the option of having a sweep this time next week, now Im feeling all flustered that it’s actually nearly time to have this baby 😂

Bags I just have a cabin bag for my bits and a smaller hold-all for babies bits, I hopefully plan to labour at home for as long as possible again and be home as soon as is possible so in all honesty I’m going off my experience from first birth. I didn’t even look at any of the snacks I’d packed for the time I was there, if anything that’s gonna be for my husband to organise as he’ll more than likely be wanting them!

I’ve seen a lot of these sort of thing on labour ward in the last few months, 3 women over 3 nights I looked after who all had them 😂 apparently you can get matching smaller bags too, they are definitely popular and seem to hold a lot too.

Do you happen to know where they are from please because I NEED this in my life 😂

Such a random question, but in my last birth I had surgery for a retained placenta, which meant spinal block/cathater, has anyone had this before and then had a second birth where there was no problem with the placenta? I’ll ask my midwife next time if it’s a higher risk if you’ve had it before, just something that’s popped into my head 🤦🏼‍♀️

Any one else experienced really muffled ears/hearing? It's most annoying hearing myself talk!

Yes I only get it in one ear but it’s soooo annoying! It comes and goes but I’ve had it pretty much since the start - think it’s quite common to be congested when pregnant and of course can’t take decongestants. Hoping it’s one of the first things to go once baby is here!
