What’s the best cooling spray? (Had to retype this loads as autocorrect also wanted cooking spray!)
Well my boyfriend stupidly bought the Asda sunflower spray the other day which was ok but you really can’t beat fry lite
I was planning on buying a heat pad because I had really bad after pains the first time round and the hospital gave me a heat pad which really helped, but I suppose you could get one of those ones that you use as either a heat pad or a cool pad!
I also tried the Avene water spray on my face last week which I think would be really good in labour for cooling down and hydration!

I’m just wondering do I just spray normal water. I’ve got some face cloths to take which I want to wet for labour!
This! I had flannels that Mr R kept wetting for my head/chest but couldn’t get them cool enough or for long enough with the water from the tap on the ward

Just ordered these and an extra fan for my partner incase our ward is hotter than the devil's hole
If it’s going to be as hot as they say I’d also freeze a couple of bottles of water to put in your bag so by the time you’re out of recovery and up to the ward you can both have a nice cold drink rather than the luke warm water they give you in a jug! I had my Stanley cup with ice in but I drained it the minute I was there and had to send Mr R to the shop for cold Coke
I recommend a damp cold towel around your neck.
Oh use are all full of good ideas. My last baby was born in January I have no clue how to birth in heat hahaha

It wasn’t even warm outside when I had Baby R but the ward felt like I was inside a volcano 
I was literally pouring with sweat and they kept telling us off for opening the window because of the breeze and Baby R wiggling out of his hat and he’d get cold 
they’ve even put it in my notes that they had to tell me more than once to close the window like I was a naughty school girl I mean I think Baby R would have been ok he was laying on me and i was a billion degrees? Plus the whole ward is an oven??

This might be a daft question, but do you need to buy sheets for the pram bassinet/carrycot (whatever it’s called)? I’m thinking of using it downstairs for daytime naps instead of a Moses basket so it just occurred to me that I might need sheets!

Some people do yeah. Luckily the ones I have for the moses basket just fit the pram bassinet anyway so I just use the same ones rather than buy extraI am not looking forward to the weather getting warmer, already struggling to sleep!

We got sheets for it so it’s easier to clean up sicky mess. I also put a muslin under him for extra protection now but still had to change the sheet a few times. A normal moses basket sheet fits the carrycot though
