So now I can feel baby, am I supposed to be keeping track of movements in case of reduced movements? I currently don’t even get how? Like I felt them loads for like an hour this morning and nothing since lol
My midwife told me to not expect patterns until 26 weeks-ishhh but I have an anterior placenta and I still don't have a pattern hahaha, I just sort of keep an eye out to make sure I feel him a few times through the day at the times I vaguely expect. I'm like 30 weeks now and that's really only started over the last week to be honest!
---
What week are you?
I'm 30 weeks now, but every single scan except my 12 week one would place me at 31 weeks. But based on the 12 week one I'm 30 weeks

While we’re talking clothes… I’ve been sorting our 0-3m stuff this afternoon. How many vests and sleep suits do people have? 🙈

Also why do next insist on tagging everything like this? I’ve spent most of the afternoon cutting these bloody tags off 🙄

I think I'd have heart failure if I counted, it's best for me and my bank balance that I don't 😂😂
The way Next attach them like that drives me insane though! I cut them and one always flies at me or the dog hahaha

I did a LOT of vinted buying when I was bored at the beginning and couldn’t bare the thought of letting bundles go… low and behold I have 70 short sleeve bodysuits. Not joking. And that’s before I’ve bought ANY special cute ones from the shops and been gifted any. Honestly an idiot. And that’s between 0-6 months.

Ok that makes me feel better! I just counted 64 short sleeve vests in 0-3 and thought that was insane 🙈 there’s like 20 up to 1m too. But I figure it’s going to be warm so he might just have a vest on, then poo explosions, sickness etc…I can easily get through that many? 🤣 my SIL told me I’d need about 15. But I don’t want to be washing every day either so I’m going to stick to my 64 😂

At mine today there was just a lot of measuring of his head, body and thigh bone, she checked his heart was beating away and then showed us his face and gave us a lovely pic of his face! She told us how much he weighed approx and then plotted it on the charts. Was fairly quick to be honest 😊 it's not as in depth as the 20 week scan at my trust anyway!
Thank you! I’m excited to see the baby again but the an anxiety is real for hoping they’re still at a good percentile !

I’m the same with anterior, I just know to feel them at times then they’re normally busy at night or if I’m sat a certain way. I feel she’s moved and is further down again so not getting the belly twitches as much as she’s down in my pant line

I’m 13 weeks today and the rage I’m having over everything is just mental 😂 usually stuff I can let go or stuff that doesn’t bother me is really pissing me off and I can’t control it! Mr 10 is getting it and I feel so bad 😩 anyone else like this?

64 hahahaha my god!! What I read the other day was 6-8 newborn bodysuits and sleepsuits then 10 of each size upwards but I also don’t want to be washing everyday! Surely that’s not enough!!

So far I have 18 newborn sleepsuits which I think should be plenty for newborn size then I’ll get more bigger sized stuff. I find the next stuff is a good bit smaller than Asda! I only have 6 bodysuits in 0-1 month so need to get more of these. I have loads of blue things saved incase it’s a boy so if we eventually find out I’ll go crazy with bigger stuff.

Just a heads up I’ve had 3 growth scans now and they haven’t shown us his face on any of them, just taken measurements of thigh bone, tummy, head and checked heart and kidneys are functioning and placenta blood flow and explained what’s what and then given us an estimated size. I think probably because he’s quite squished and it’s hard to see. And we haven’t had pics from them. I just don’t want you to be disappointed if the scan feels more clinical than the 20w scan where they show you the face/profile etc. It’s obviously really lovely to see baby again and it’s amazing to see the difference in size and see them moving about and you can feel it at the same time, but it definitely felt more like a medical tick box exercise than the 12/20w scans. It will obviously depend on your hospital and the sonographer though 😊

I know 🙈 in my defence about 20 of them came from my baby shower from people helpfully buying me a size up 🤣 I’ve kept those in packets incase I decide to swap them for a bigger size but my 3-6m drawer is already overflowing! I just don’t want to be washing every single day or worrying that they’re not going to be dry in time etc or thinking oh god I’ve got to get that poo stain out because he’s only got 6 other vests when I can just bin it and know there’s another 60 in his drawer 🤣

We’ve only got about 10 newborn sleep suits but I stopped buying that size and got up to 1m instead when they told us he was 95th centile at 28ish weeks. I’m a bit sad about it though because I dug out the first newborn outfit we bought at 12 weeks just now and it’s up to 7lb 8oz and he was measuring that 2 weeks ago so he’ll probably not get to wear it 😢

Thank you. That helps me understand more about our projected weight. I'm 31wks, they brought my 32 week scan forward with the GD test. Baby's measuring 4lb 7, 90%. Last time was practically off the chart so they said either growth has slowed or it's because they can't be accurate, but it could be the last scan or this one that's inaccurate so I'm back again in 2 weeks.
After me not gaining as much as expected I gained 7lbs last 10 days! I didn't know that was possible! Maybe I'm just catching up, they've said the amniotic fluid is all ok so who knows. I should get the GD test result tomorrow.

Thanks I was expecting clinical / no pics anyway and anything else is the bonus. I just wasn’t sure how many checks they did. Also hoping they don’t show the face from front on again because I’m still not over how scary it was !

You’d be surprised, both of mine were both shy of 9lb and both wore a few newborn bits in the first couple of weeks. They say they put on 1lb every 2 weeks towards the end so now would be around 8lb 8. I’ve also heard people who got told they were having whoppers and they didn’t, so there’s still hope ❤

I’ve bought a few smock / skater dresses from new look but I’d be interested in what people have to suggest too!

I’ve found anything tight is painful anyway and just shows off my bloat 😭
I am 9+2 and soooooo bloated, I’ve been living in leggings, floaty dresses, long tops and big oversized cardigans to hide the belly

Ahh you can just never tell how big they’re going to be. I was never told about centiles or anything with my first. He was 7lb 9oz but newborn stuff was still too big on him, thankfully some people had bought a couple of tiny baby things and these were perfect on him. The next newborn ones are tiny then I’ve got Asda first size that are a bit bigger so hopefully that’s enough variation in sizes if things are too small.

Ah hopefully the GD test is normal, my blood sugars went down after the drink somehow 😂
I honestly just have to take all the measuring with a pinch of salt now though, my first was apparently 8lb at 36 weeks, had him a week later and he was barely over 6lb. It's all a big guessing game for the most part isn't it!
Have they given you an indication of what they will do if the growth isn't as expected either way?

Hi all 👋🏻

I've been following this thread for a week or so - I am currently 5 weeks with my first and your posts have been giving me lots of reassurance and laughs along the way.

I'm in the boat of not really knowing how to feel (no one but my partner and I know), anxious that the community midwife team haven't called back from my initial request for an appointment last week and also feeling a little bloated but quite short tempered as well! I was shamefully a smoker up until the day I found out so went cold turkey so I'm pretty sure that's the reason for a lot of how I'm feeling!

Anyway - just wanted to plonk myself here and say thank you!

Ah congratulations!! Hopefully you'll get an appointment soon, I was about 8 weeks when I had my initial one.
Also well done on quitting smoking, I cant imagine how hard that was, I struggled to give up diet coke and coffee and move over to caffiene free stuff 😂😂😂

I hope so because this baby was a mini fillet for the first 4 months because it’s all I could keep down when my HG was horrendous 🤣

You’ll be fine just check it’s not pink! Enjoy your chicken 😘
