After 16 months trying and a couple of fertility appointments we finally got a positive this morning. I had been taking Metformin for three months to help with my ovulation and my number were so high this month I just had a feeling this would be it.
I had a few symptoms this week but kept telling myself it was period related apart from nausea. I know its early but I suffer from motion sickness most days so I knew I would probably feel sick. I dont know what I'm rambling on about I'm just so happy its finally worked. Negative thoughts keep trying to kick in but I wont let them.
Congratulations! 🥰 if your nausea is bad make sure you speak to someone about meds. I believe the earlier you start the more effective they can be. And they’re fine for baby 😊

CTG this morning was fine. No consultants available (🤨) so no idea what next. I’ll be going back if he’s quiet (or too active) later today though but at the moment he’s normal.

I hate the lack of communication in hospital. Everyone has a different plan, a different idea or comes in with no clue of your history. Just someone make a decision and give me a plan 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree. Last week when I first went in for my reduced movements, I spoke to 2 different midwives and a registrar and they all said different things 🙃

Any tips for easing nausea? I’m only at 6 weeks and feel like I’ve had a week long hangover. I can eat - to be fair that’s probably the only thing keeping it at bay. Eating small and often. Just feel so unwell.

It’s infuriating isn’t it?! Why can’t they talk to each other before coming to talk to you? I even got 3 different plans from the same MW last night! If they can’t make a decision how are we supposed to know what to do for the best?

Eat small and often as you said, have whatever you fancy don’t worry if it’s chips for the 5th day in a row because all you can manage is bland white carbs. Preggie pop drops from amazon are good to suck when you’re getting waves of nausea. If you’re taking pregnacare that can increase nausea so switch to separate folic acid and vitamin d supplements. For me ice cold drinks helped a bit too rather than hot drinks. And speak to your GP, you don’t have to suffer.

Thank you! I do have separate folic acid as I’m on 5mg so don’t touch pregnacare. Also stocked up on ice lollies & crushed ice to keep drinks cold.
Just keep crying at how rough I am. So grateful after so many losses so don’t want to moan too much. It’s just been a lot!

Finally got to see our pram in real life! We ordered the Egg3 before it came out in a colour way that they didn't do on the Egg2 so was really a hope and a prayer that I liked it 😂😂 luckily I'm obsessed!

Moan as much as you like! Pregnancy sickness is rough and you can still be grateful for being pregnant whilst also acknowledging you feel like tit. There’s a few of us on here who have had hyperemesis, and it’s really not fun. Mine started at the stage you’re at now which is why I said to speak to your GP about meds asap. The pregnancy sickness support website is also really useful. Are you being sick or ‘just’ (I know it’s not just, it’s awful!) nauseous?

I feel this too! I’ve waited for this for so long but I’ve really struggled the last 6 weeks with nausea, exhaustion, mood swings and sometimes feel like I sound so ungrateful. ☹

They should reimburse your parking the amount you’re being messed around!!

Off on my weekly parade around the Trafford Centre. I could honestly point out exactly which items are new in at Mamas and Papas and Next.

Bit of Sunday afternoon advice from me to you all; doing an escape room pregnant, having to constantly crawl around and squat to get things, all while being locked in a room without a loo for an hour is one hell of a challenge 🤣

I always worry about sounding ungrateful when I complain about the negative sides of pregnancy too, but honestly, pregnancy is hard work. We’re allowed to talk about the hard parts whilst still being incredibly grateful. Some people are lucky and float through with minimal problems, some people aren’t so lucky and seem to get all the horrible symptoms, being the latter and mentioning how hard you’re finding it doesn’t make you ungrateful I promise. Pregnancy for me has been really tough but I know the baby at the end will be worth it and that’s all that matters ❤

If anyone is looking for bright boy clothes for summer we just got these delivered cos they didn't have them in the right size in store and they're so cute in real life, if they're your style obviously haha!
The red romper is my fave 🥰

That’s so annoying 🙄 I’m having similar frustrations with midwife service so far, only had one midwife appointment but three scans and only about 10% of the vital info is recorded on BadgerNotes. Basically makes it redundant and I’m only 15 weeks in
I had my first booking appointment yesterday and thought it went okay. I’ve just checked my notes online and I’ve been changed to high risk and consultant led? None of that was mentioned and when we left she said it was low.
the comments she’s put is that I’ve had a previous cervical biopsy for CIN2 which then cleared after a year or two, but still HPV+

Can anyway shed some light on why this is an issue? She even went and checked with somebody higher up and said it wouldn’t be an issue.
Was it just a biopsy you had or a LLETZ? Either way, you may need to see consultant at around 20 weeks, they may also refer you to fetul med for a scan where they measure the length of your cervix, if everything is okay, which I would assume it would be (unless you were told directly that the biopsy would impact future pregnancies I doubt there’s a problem!) then you would be returned to midwifery led care. Unfortunately these days, maternity services are very medicalised, the midwife would’ve just done it as a tick box excercise.
I had a similar situation and was confused as to why I had a consultant appointment come through the post, but the midwife explained that it was literally just trust procedure and it shouldn’t affect my plan of care which it hasn’t. I’m 38 weeks and other than one appointment I’ve not seen a doctor since only my lovely midwife!

Those dungarees have been sat in my favourites forever but I really don’t need to add any more clothes to the collection currently 🙈

Just a biopsy! The cells cleared the year after. It looked like somebody reviewed my notes and it got changed back to midwife led after triage so think they were just double checking x

Spotted these on Asda yesterday. These aren’t included but they have 20% off some styles making the multi pack zip sleep suits good value (assuming the quality is good but the reviews imply it is)

No actual sickness, only nausea. Worse earlier in the day but it does continue all day.
I got to see the heartbeat a few days ago which made it all seem very real!

It’s really rough, isn’t it? Sometimes I’d rather just be sick than have the constant nausea. One thing that helped mine was starting omeprazole. I know it’s for acid but it has worked for nausea. Hope it eases for you soon.

It’s magical seeing the heartbeat for the first time 🥰
