@Brewtime87 I don’t know a thing about my biological Dad so didn’t know how to answer all the medical history questions and they weren’t that bothered

I always said I didn’t want to know before I was pregnant as I thought I wouldn’t care what it was once I’d gone through labour. When I got pregnant I changed my mind and so glad I had a gender scan. Knowing the gender and seeing the 4d preview I think has really helped. I feel my maternal instincts have really kicked in!I'm being consultant led too, I have my first appointment with him this week. I'm not really sure what to expect tbh.
I have also booked a private gender scan for a couple weeks time which I'm really excited about! At the start I was unsure whether to find out or not but I think it'll be easier to buy bits once we know!
It’ll feel like a year once you’re towards the endHave to laugh though, the midwife accidentally told me today ill be due mid/towards the end of December instead of September. December! I had a right panic thinking since when were year long pregnancies a thing![]()

We were wondering whether to tell family on this day too! But I kind of like people not knowing so wondering whether we just try and wait. I'd hard launch a newborn if I could I think. My inlaws are v involved opinionated people so there may be a lot to contend with. Now I've accepted I've still got 2.5 weeks to wait for this scan, I've realised it'll be Mothers day weekend so feels like the perfect opportunity and excuse to see and tell our families![]()
I’m gonna get a 4D scan in a couple weeks when I’m 27 weeks. I’m just seeing it as an opportunity to see baby againOH keeps reminding me this is the last baby.
Thoughts on 4D scans. Are they worth it or do they end up with baby looking like a lasagne?
Also, I got the travel system out of storage and remembered how much I hate it. OH said get a new one if if I really wanted, last baby and all. But it seems such a waste, how important is it really? Thinking I could struggle on with this on for the bassinet stage at least as baby will prob be in a carrier more this time what with having a toddler.
I don’t want to get sucked in to spending loads on unnecessary things that won’t be used again, but also don’t want to miss my last chance.
I live at the opposite end of the country to my family and only see them twice yearly, if I could get away with it i would absolutely just turn up at Christmas with a baby that they didn't know existed til that pointWe were wondering whether to tell family on this day too! I wouldn't do a gender one so early. It's definitely too early to properly tell.My private place does gender scans at 13 weeks. I’ve got my NHS scan on the 26th and if my first private was right I’ll be 12 weeks by then. Waiting for confirmation of this by the NHS one and then I’ll book in the gender one!
