So I have a UTI and typical it’s started on a weekend! I can’t get in touch with my GP until Monday but I don’t think I should wait until then because UTI’s aren’t safe in pregnancy, not sure what I should do😩
Can you call 111 and see if they'll refer you to an out of hours GP? X

Give 111 or triage a call. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes 111, out of hours or triage if you have a UTI. They’ll get you antibiotics tonight/tomorrow. Don’t wait until Monday.
So today has been eventful! Was in hospital with suspected waters breaking but thankfully wasn’t the case after swab! Now home but getting cramps every 20 to 30 mins. Think he might be here sooner rather than later. Watching Gavin and Stacey curled up trying to breathe through the pain when I cramp up!
Good luck! How far are you now?

I'm so angry. My boyfriend went out yesterday evening with his sister to his step mums "for a few hours"
I feel your pain! The exact same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with my first. My husband went out to meet an old uni mate “for a few drinks” and didn’t come home until dawn. He was absolutely ruined and had been completely incognito all evening (not replying etc) and was very noisy when he came in. I was furious.

I think some first time dads do this just to get it out of their system, and they’re also egged on and wound up by their mates who scare them into thinking they should make the most of it before they are on full time baby duty. Anyway… he’s not done it since.

After all of my symptoms disappeared last week and still haven't returned, added to the stress and panic of last night, I've caved and booked a private scan for tomorrow. If something is wrong I want to know sooner rather than waiting another 2 weeks for my 12 week nhs scan.

I am SURE everything is ok, and I will be crossing all fingers and toes for you.

I had so many false alarms in the first trimester with this baby, including heavy bleeds and my symptoms stopping. I did a lot of private scans to reassure myself. (I’m now 3 weeks away from giving birth, and fingers crossed all is well!)

On the flip side, I had a missed miscarriage in 2022, and all of my symptoms continued and I felt fully pregnant right up until I got the bad news.

So what I’m saying is… don’t stress too much about what symptoms you think you can and can’t feel. Pregnancy is very weird and it affects everybody differently, and it will change throughout.

really hope everything is Ok! X

Symptoms do just come and go naturally, but I can resonate with overthinking and would have done the same. Please do update us, wishing you the best 💜💜

Good luck for tomorrow ❤ I’m sure everything will be ok but I’d have done exactly the same in your position.

Pregnancy is such a wild ride. I had extra private scans because my sickness was so bad and I was worrying about how it would impact baby. But then I also booked a scan when my sickness became controlled by meds for a few days because I was worried it wasn’t the meds and meant bad news. I did literally about 100 tests before my sickness kicked in, even though I knew they could still show positive if something was wrong. Even after my first couple of private scans I kept testing even though I knew it meant nothing really. I think I said on here before but we flew long haul a week after I found out I was pregnant. I took sooo many tests with me (and used them all), I bought extra tests in the airport before we went and took them there and on the plane. I took a test as soon as we landed, then as soon as we got to the hotel. In the day I was sneaking back from the room several times to do a test. Whenever we went anywhere I had a few of the little strip tests with me and would test every time I went to the toilet. It was obsessive but because I only had sore boobs and stretching cramps I was convinced something would go wrong. When my HG kicked in I tested less but then the worry switched from what if I’ve lost the baby to what if my sickness harms the baby.
Started bleeding and bought myself a Doppler and ended up listening every day even though I’ve got no clue what I’m actually listening to, but I had to hear that heart beat sound because I was going crazy. Booked another scan to check him.
A few days ago Baby Raspberry was kicking and rolling all night and all morning, then he went quiet for an hour and I started poking him like crazy and downing fizzy drinks and contemplating ringing triage even though he obviously just wanted some sleep after being so active. Contemplated booking a scan even though we’d had one the day before but then he woke up again.
What I’m trying to say with that ramble is the anxiety over everything pregnancy related is something else, no matter what your symptoms or lack of symptoms you will be worrying. So do what you have to do to reassure yourself. If that means lots of private scans then go for it, if you need to ring EPU or triage for reassurance then do it. Your body is going through something huge and if a scan or a phone call gives you peace of mind then it’s worth it. I am so envious of the people who can pee on a stick and go for their nhs scans and that’s it. But not all of us can be like that so just do your pregnancy however is comfortable for you, and seek as much reassurance as you need in whatever form that is ❤

Thank you ladies, I'll let you know how I get on. I know it'll only give temporary relief but I'll take temporary over the complete unknown for another 2 weeks right now. Plus I'll be 10+3 so all being well I'm hoping to see some teeny tiny limbs waving about x

Got up in the night for my normal wee, was absolutely soaked in sweat! Then couldn't get back to sleep because I was panicking so much. Just sat on the edge of the ndd trying to cool off, breathe and not cry too loud and wake up my OH ☹

Scan done, everything is okay ❤ saw baby wriggling away, I am so so glad I did that. The relief and happiness I feel right now is like nothing else.

Hopefully you’re now feeling reassured lack of symptoms doesn’t mean anything bad!! X

Thank you ladies, you are helping me more than I could explain ❤
He's looked into how to control his drinking multiple times in the past but just isn't finding something that works. He is one of the kindest blokes in the world and then alcohol just ruins it for him. I'm so exhausted with it. Even times like now I'm waiting for him to get up and come and explain himself. I don't see why I should have to go to him.
So sorry for totally detailing from pregnancy chat 🙈
if he can’t find anything that helps him not behave like this with alcohol would he not consider going t total? I know it’s easier said than done for some people but very beneficial
