40+5 - feeling super emotional today and people's unsolicited advice is not helping. I've started panic buying more stuff for the baby (when I turn to shopping I know my MH is in a tailspin) I'm trying to stay positive and on an even keel but it's getting hard with my hormones being all of the place. I had a contraction this morning and got so excited but then I didn't have another one so it's just sent me into a bit of a black hole. Sorry to rant but I just have no one else to talk to or that understands.

Have yourself a pamper session this evening. Sort your nails out, have a bath, put on a face mask, read a good book. Look after you while you still can. Baby will come when it’s ready x

Honestly this has been me for the last week too-the waiting game is extremely tough on your mental health especially when you get the slightest sign. I’ve been trying to focus on excitement of bringing a little one home but it’s very very tough. I had a meltdown earlier as I feel like my body is failing me (2 sweeps, labour not progressing and baby needs to come out as growth has stopped) but I also know that baby is back to back and they take a bit longer to labour. But it’s very hard when you are in the thick of it to have perspective. Just know you aren’t alone

Thanks both, I keep telling myself that the due date is just an estimate but it's hard when it seems so long ago now 🙈

Good luck for your sweep @penpitstop - hope baby doesn't make you wait much longer ❤

This thread has been so helpful in keeping me sane. Thank you all so much ❤

I meant to add-if it’s what you want to do, at your next appointment ask for a plan. I got a plan on Thursday and felt so much better afterwards despite it not being what I really want (albeit that feeling better went out the window today lol).

Thank you that's really helpful because I didn't realise you could ask for that. I'm booked in for a sweep next week so hopefully I'll get more answers then or some movement! 🤞

Little does be going on in my head, I got babies first outfit today and I got one month which says 10lbs...im now thinking should I have got it in newborn. I completely understand this is a first world problem

Honestly I've barely bought any newborn clothes (the few I've bought are secondhand) as they mostly go up to 7.5lbs - my little bean is currently about 6.2lbs with potentially 3/4 weeks to go. May be worth getting a few newborn sleepsuits off Vinted if you're worried?

I mostly got newborn and because he was early baby fudge is swimming in them 😆 luckily I’ve been given some tiny baby bits from someone that I’m just using in rotation! So I would say get a few smaller sizes just incase

I'm in Ireland and very jealous of vinted 😂 there does be only rubbish on the market place for second hand clothes I find

My baby was born at 6lbs 7oz and was fitting into newborn clothes until she was 2/3 months old 🙈 obviously every baby’s different though but having a few newborn sizes doesn’t hurt!

I’ve bought 10 newborn vests and the same in sleepsuits. The rest are 0-3. I’m not expecting him to be in little clothes too long as he’s going to be big but honestly who knows what’s going on in there.

Hey, I’m sorry you’re feeling like this ❤ if you’ve had a contraction you could be reassured that baba is getting ready? I don’t know if this helps but my coping mechanism for pregnancy was (by the time I got to full term) “this will be over within the week”. I used that with exams when I was younger, the night before would think “in 24 hours I never have to think about geometry ever again”. Have you got a birthing ball or anything you could maybe bounce on whilst watching a film? Sending you love xx

My LO was 8lbs 9oz, she skipped the newborn clothes and was in one month immediately! My friend’s baby was nearly 10lbs and she was straight into 0-3. So think it’s good to have a few different ones!

Thank you ❤ yes I have a birthing ball that I do some hip rotations on in the evenings when watching Tele. It is good to relax me to be honest so that helps. I just feel like I'm in groundhog Day at the moment but you are right, it won't be much longer. Thank you for your kind words. I hope you are doing okay as well lovely. I know you've been having a tough time lately and I hope things get better for you. You're incredibly supportive in the threads here so I hope you are also getting support ❤

It can feel like ages towards the end but you’re nearly there ❤ glad the ball helps! Rant away in these threads, that’s what they’re here for ❤

Thank you, yes I’m at my parents’ so got lots of support here. These threads helped me so much during pregnancy and beyond, they’ve got a special place in my heart which is why I can’t leave 😂
