Had anyone else just not felt any nausea really? I’m nearly 10 weeks. Had a few episodes of feeling nauseous earlier on but fleeting. I feel pregnant in other ways - super bloated, random aches and pains, exhausted - but no nausea. I had very minimal nausea when pregnant with my first child but this is even less still. Worried it’s a bad sign

I only had three weeks of feeling a bit queasy in the first trimester. I feel more sick now in the third with the acid reflux

As a children’s nurse I would unfortunately say it’s true. Not necessarily alarm bells, but bells. It would be documented especially for the 14 day check. You could potentially ask if you can just bring your baby to their baby clinic?

I just hate the idea of being around anyone post birth - I am so introverted and anti social that it makes me want to shrivel up and hide. Feels like so much unnecessary stress ugh. This letter has really sapped the fun out of my Friday night 🥲 I guess I'll have to grin and bear it for the antenatal and 14 day visit and then bin them off

Just had my early pregnancy bloods/height/weight. Fainted after!!! think my BP dropped as I'm not scared of needles or anything.

When will my next blood test be in pregnancy so I can be prepared?? !!

Is it normal to feel the baby move a lot more from 30 weeks? I'm only concerned because I've been quite unwell this week with vomiting and now a chest infection where I'm coughing quite a lot. I'm going to ring the GP tomorrow to ask about something for my acid reflux/vomiting and regarding the chest infection but today I've been feeling the baby move a bit more frequently but now I'm sat still and the baby feels like they are doing back flips in there - Google tells me to be worried about increased movement as the baby could be in distress but I don't want to overreact if it's normal to feel them more around 30+ weeks.

I'm currently 13 weeks and have had some bad pains which feel like in the area of my cervix as well as along my lower tummy in the area I would typically have period pains. I don't remember having anything like this with my son. I know from my scan that baby is positioned quite high so I don't think it's pressure from that. Anyone else experienced something similar?

I had a lot of tightness and twinges early on. I think it's just the uterus stretching a bit and preparing itself. It used to be so painful laying in bed and trying to get up/moving position. Obviously if you are really concerned it's best to go and get it checked out, but quite possibly it's ligament pain.

Im wondering if its also worth waiting to January sales or black Friday sales? Do you get discounts on these kind of things? January would be cutting it fine for me (due 1st March) but also would rather snap a bargain up as the price of all this stuff is crazy.

Did anyone who suffered with nausea/morning sickness have it just suddenly go away even before the end of the first trimester?

My midwives don't do home visits - the health visitor is definitely at home. I get why they do home visits but the thought makes me just incredibly anxious so I'd rather they just buggered off. My current plan is to just do the first one and then sack them off or see them in their clinic if I really can't sack them off.

The anxiety I'd feel from having them in my house will far outweigh anything they can offer me to be honest I really don't like my space invaded. The reviews of my local health visitors (from women I know who have had babies) are far, far from glowing or being remotely positive. Just apprehensive at the whole thing, especially an antenatal visit. Feels pointless.

Generally a midwife (not necessarily the midwife you see now) will visit you at home the day or 2 after you are discharged from hospital to make sure you are ok. I thought this was the norm everywhere? I think after 1 or 2 home visits you then go to them in the clinic and are discharged to the care of the HV. If you have a good relationship with your midwife maybe bring up your concerns and see what they advise?

had my 20 week scan yesterday! sonographer was nice enough but quite dismissive i felt, like when i said i thought baby was a boy (had an early scan due to worries) she was like oh right yeah pretty sure its a boy then moved on. it wasn't the reassuring scan i wanted - i do understand it's for measurements and i'm SO happy all seemed fine but there were no comforting words just.. yeah looks alright??

also, did anybody obsess over the little scales in the chart for the scan? baby is measuring like 25th perc on most (except belly lol way over) - should i be worried? (yes this is why im up at 4am )

ALSO i too am petite and having a nightmare with clothes, its all enormous if you look for maternity when 5ft!!!! all i managed to buy so far is a stretchy dress in primark in a size up so far

Ah sorry to hear that. I think with the nhs it probably depends where you go. The lady who did my 12 week scan was really nice but we’re at a different hospital in the same borough for my 20 week so who knows (2 weeks today).

I don’t understand the whole measuring thing yet at all and the percentile confuses me totally hopefully will understand when I start getting measured properly.

Hopefully if any of us shorter ladies find any good items in the search we can share tips here!

I’ve read that baby was 3/5 engaged a little under two weeks ago at my last midwife appt, which sounds exciting, probably only cos it’s new information I’ve not heard before

Woo my travel system is being dispatched for delivery early next week! Keep seeing early babies being born and I’m getting a tiny bit panicky… it’s now nine weeks until I go on mat leave.
stuck on nightlight ideas - any recommendations?

Just bought a random one off Amazon that has three different brightnesses. Have it on brightest now for story time and then lowest once she’s asleep.

Hello! Saw my doc. She got me to do the flu shot at 8 weeks pregnant. I felt a little judged when I said to her “I’m scared to do anything with injection since I’ve made it this far for the first time in my pregnancy “ but she said all good, it’s recommended”
She didn’t wanna do 8 week scan, next scan is in 4 weeks time. We will do NIPT in 2 weeks time.
We discovered I have submucosal fibroid.
Two things
1/ does flu shot effect pregnancy? (Google says no but your opinion all matter to me)
2/ is the fibroid bad and will it effect my pregnancy and do any of you have it?

when does everyone plan on putting their car seats in the car? i don’t want to put it in too early at all in case of having an accident and then the seat being deemed as unsafe but now my due date is saturday i don’t want to be stuck somewhere without it and end up going into labour. arrrrggh

Interesting, thanks both. Might give the lemon in a ziploc a go. My sense of smell has me gagging at pretty much everything too so I think the rubbing alcohol would tip me over the edge

yeah this is baby no 2 for me and I’ve been showing since week 7. This second baby is IVF so I think the drugs really add to it. Im 14 weeks now and I look 6 months…

Are they definitely in your house? Our prenatal visit is at their clinic, and I think with my 1st they came to our house 2 weeks after I gave birth (midwives came a couple of times before then) and then every other visit was at their clinic - so basically they were only at our house once. I think it depends on your area etc, but mine were actually really helpful so worth keeping in touch with but I know it’s not always like that unfortunately!
The midwives do home visits just to make you aware (I think that’s normal everywhere?)

31 weeks, 8 weeks left for me my feet now resemble monster munch crisps due to how swollen they are. I'm also anaemic so cat naps are much needed, struggling to take the iron tablets though as they make me vomit.
