Hehe exactly (re what you said about it feeling like a period). Im early days so i keep checking when i wipe for blood. Im actually pretty worried about something going wrong, but i think thats natural as this is the first time ive been pregnant. Im pretty optimistic and positive once I've wiped 🤣

I will get a diary sorted. Thats a great idea and good to know i need to be proactive. Its hard to know what to expect so any guidance is much appreciated.

How do you feel about phone appointments? Are they are useful as in person meetings? I wish i was pregnant (not during a pandemic), but figured its either on its way out or could be around for ages, so there would never be a good time to try. This is life right now and fot the forseeable.

I watched a bunch of episodes with my friend who was pregnant last year. They arw filmed all over the country so it was useful it terma of seeing different hospitals etc. Also helped to see A hospital birth, a birthing suite birth etc. Id recommend. Think i might start watching episodes in a few months 😊

One question i have is how is advance should you book an early private scan? Im 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant now and would like to maybe scan around 7/8 weeks. Should i call to book around 6.5 weeks?
It is down to you what you book I ended up having a scan because I convinced the doctor to get me one because I have never been pregnant and after 6 years of no contraception I was worrying about cramps and I had really bad pains in my arm and then I started googling things and eventually the doctor sent me for a scan also my periods are so strange based on my lmp I was about 9 weeks when I had the scan I was 5 weeks and a few days I am glad I went however I had a normal
Ultrasound she said if she couldn’t see anything she would do it transvaginally but she didn’t need to could see the tadpole shape on the screen and the flickering which she said was a heart beat but it was very small I am 8 weeks and 3 today I joined the group when I found out what’s odd is so never searched for it it just popped up! I’m not sure where you are but you can book them online with window to the womb I didn’t have to have a private scan but I will be shortly so I can at least show my partner. I also get cramps now on and off and I also do the toilet thing I think it’s normal to be anxious xx on the subject of rules I will be seeing my family hopefully however I hope by the time I am due in September I will be able to see everyone. My family is very small and if it means breaking the rules to see my grandfather I will do that as he lost my Nan last year due to covid at the height of the pandemic and this is something he has to look forward to I am hoping things will be better by then. He has had the vaccine as have my other grandparents I feel I cannot deny them the chance to see their great grandchild. X

I am coming up to 20 weeks and I’ve had a cracking headache for 6 days now. Paracetamol isn’t helping. I think it might be dehydration as I’m not getting enough water in due to (still!) constant sickness 😫

I’ve also tried those 4head chilled patches for my head but it’s like a tight band is squeezing me around the back of my neck and eyebrows.

Has anyone else suffered headaches in pregnancy before? What did you do to help? It’s doing my head in. I am working all day on computer screen and I’m struggling

Anyone go for a wee and just sit there for ages cos you can't be bothered to move? Or just me?
Haha yes 😂 I think my partner must think I poop 20 times a day 😂

Hey ladies, just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation pram wise as me, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I already have a 15 month old, I'm debating if I'm going to need a double buggy? My little boy has been walking confidently since 9 months and when he's out the pram he hates to get back in, I'm just worried if I stick to a single and he gets tired am I in for a meltdown 😂 I thought about a buggy board but Ive never used one any advice? Thanks (my son will be 21 months when baby is here)
My daughter will be almost 3 when baby comes but we're going to get a buggy board with a seat because whilst she will walk fine, she isn't used to walking long distance if we went for a day out or something.
My partner will be pushing the pram then though because I trip up just normally, nevermind with a buggy board on the back 😂

Baby was successfully turned. The ECV always painful but brief.
Sorry I’m just catching up on here, but that’s fab news☺

I've had a Mamas and Papas sola for 8 years, used daily with 2 kids.
I loved my sola with my first 2. I managed to get a Sola2 from Argos in the summer for a bargain as they’d been discontinued. Only been on 2 walks so far but loving it 😊

I can tell he’s more upset at missing the birth than he’s letting on 😥 I feel like crying cos I’m so upset. Can tell once I’m home I will have a good cry. I ended up in the room on my own screaming cos I knew I needed to push and no one was with me.

Hope the rest of you who are due don’t have to labour alone, but if it does happen our bodies are amazing and we can do more than we think we can.
Sorry this happened to you ❤
Did they say you could call him at a certain time/when you were so far along?

That's also the problem I find, they go by text book times for births. She refused to check me with my first because she kept saying no, it's your first, you can't be far enough along yet

I’ve been told to bring 0-3 in case he is very long? To be honest the newborn ones I have are all different sizes when you compare them! Reluctant to spend lots of money on newborn/first size when he’ll only be in it for a few weeks - I have 7 newborn sleepsuits in total?? Not sure if that’s enough??

I’ve got sleepsuits/vest/nappy in sandwich bags labelled with the size 😉
I’m sure no matter what you have will be fine 😊 I’ve just always found 0-3 are very big on new ones, because they are still so curled up 🤣 they haven’t learnt to stretch yet! And you are so right about sizing, everywhere is different and it’s a bloody nightmare knowing what they will fit and when!

That is wonderful what did it look like? Did the heartbeat like flicker up abs down so happy for you it is magical seeing something on the screen isn’t it xxx
Yeah it was crazy! Literally just a tiny little bean shape on the screen, can’t quite believe it’s in there. Massive relief to see it - I had all these irrational fears that there would be nothing in there and I’d imagined the whole thing 😂 Sorry you’re feeling rubbish 😞 was it the seedlip stuff you’ve got? It’s quite nice with tonic but not so much without!

What does everyone think of pregnancy pillows? Ever had one? What’s the point of them?
Keep getting all these ads for them on insta! Guess they’re more for later pregnancy when you can’t lie on your front or back. I’m quite tempted - not sure my husband will be so keen on having one take up the entire bed 🤣

While we’re on the topic of elective c-sections, when I had my first baby I had a pre-eclampsia and ended up having a 3rd degree tear and lost around 2.5l of blood. I don’t remember any of my birth or the 24hrs afterwards, I don’t remember holding my baby for the first time or any of that, so only know anything from my partner. It was a really traumatic time for everyone, especially my partner who can’t watch anyone give birth on tv now because it brings back really crap memories for him. I was wondering what my chances of having a c-section actually are? I’m so worried I’m going to have to go through all that again now I’m pregnant again. I really don’t want to have to give birth naturally again
I think you’re guaranteed a elective c-section given your history without any objections.
They can’t refuse you one anyway.
They can make it very difficult and try to talk you out of it, advise against etc but the can’t refuse.

thanks @StrawberryCream & @WhatABore re cut/tear - Very helpful to know

That story was ridic wasn’t it! As if she didn’t know until her husband felt it kick 😂 that was my absolute fear as a teenager!
that sounds so bizzare, but amazing at the same time!

so glad the baby was fine ❤
Baffled me even more as she already had two kids so surely she knew what pregnancy was like for her?!

I always marvel at the women who don’t know. There is no way on earth I could ever think I’d just put on a bit of weight during pregnancy, my bump is always enormous from about 15 weeks!

Question to the people who have had csections previously... How long did you have to stay in afterwards?
2 nights. I’m hoping it’ll be down to 1 this time, I’ve heard they are kicking people out quickly with covid. (I also stayed two nights for my non sections)

I have my scan tomorrow morning and I feel sick with anxiety. Last week it was too early and only saw a tiny sac so hoping I see a tiny baby and even better a heart beat.. been in tears all day I’m an emotional wreck 😭 I’m sure it will all be fine but I’m just so nervous!
Will be thinking of you! Trust me, I know exactly how you feel. Try and get a good nights sleep, everything will be okay 🧡

Yes I had that! I had it in my urine a few times and had to be tested for GD. I didn’t have GD.

We just put it down to me eating too much sugar throughout the day. And cold pure orange juice was my craving, I couldn’t get enough.
Ahhhh ok, I also read on another forum you’re supposed to use your first pee of the day?! Not sure how accurate that info is but we shall see 😊

That might be why but the hospital I’m being sent to, I don’t think you can give birth there anymore. The hospital I went to when they thought I was ectopic is the main one with consultants and stuff and I’m not going to that one this time. Weird. I’ll ask when I’m there.
Might be a covid thing, holding the clinics somewhere else xx

I’m also 26 weeks! I’ll be having an elective section, I did with my last as well after some horrendous injuries from my second born and his fucking enormous head 😫 the section was by far the best birth experience I’ve had ☺ Happy to answer any specifics you want to know!
Amazing thank you!!
How was recovery if you have other children (my son will be 2)so worried about recovery. When did you get your date for the section? :)

Fizzy is something I can't get enough of this time. Not even the coldness, it's the actual fizz 😂
My second pregnancy was Fanta orange!

Yes, this 😂 I always think that when people constantly post about it and then are like ahh but it's a surprise.
I'm sorry, but nobody else cares that much 😂
It's lovely that you do, but others don't

I just had a large Fanta from McDonald’s it was amazing 😂😂😍

Has anyone went off anything they normally love? I can’t stomach Coffee 🤮

I’m 32 weeks with 4th and have my growth scan tomorrow, only because my previous babies were over 10lb. Midwives didn’t fazed by this in previous pregnancies but now they are. Perhaps the guidance has changed? All were spontaneous labours with no complications, so not sure what the fuss is about.
