I will say when you leave the hospital with your first baby it’s very much like “are they seriously letting us take a baby home? By ourselves?” I couldn’t believe we were just able to walk out with my eldest and take her hone to do whatever. I felt like such a fraud!

Had my 12 week scan today, everything looks great although I got scolded for not drinking enough to fill my bladder up , pretty hard when every mouthful you want to spew .

Has anyone had the nub theory done? I know it's a bit of a gimmick but curious if anyone has done it and it's been right!

Hello Has anyone experienced annoying responses to people finding out your baby's sex? Im already a mum of one boy who's almost 9 and we had a surprise lockdown pregnancy after trying for 8 years! Anyway, I found out yesterday we are having another boy and honestly some of the replies I've had from close friends when I msged them to tell them, are making my blood boil. Replies such as. 'Ah never mind - it's ok to be disappointed etc' ... 'atleast its healthy'. one of my friends actually said 'atleast you've got poppy' (her little girl).

Of course it would have been just as lovely to have one of each and I know gender disappointment is a real thing but I am not disappointed and its annoyed me that people would assume I am upset to have another baby boy????

Am I just super hormonal or are these awful things to say? I'm happy I'm having a boy! My blood is boiling again as I write this honestly.

Any mums of multiple boys / girls had experiences like this??? X

Yes, I have a daughter and we found out early December that this baby is another girl, I was so over the moon as I never had a sister growing up and think it will be great for them to have each other, but when i told my parents they were both so underwhelmed and said oh well Mabye a boy next time! It made me so annoyed especially because I had a miscarriage early 2019 and am just so pleased to be pregnant with a healthy baby! I don’t plan on having any more after this one so will just be 2 daughters for me

We have had the results back from cvs and baby is postive for Down syndrome. We are speaking to hospital tommorow to talk everything over xxx

Did anyone else find the cyclizine (sp) made you sooo drowsy ?

My sil can’t take it anymore as it made her too sleepy. I didn’t even realise that was a side effect until she asked me what I take (cyclizine) and I was like “holy fuck. That explains a lot”. I am absolutely knackered on it all the time.

My first was a girl, second a boy, and people used to say I had “the perfect family”, as if somehow my kids would have mucked the family up if they’d both been one gender? It’s all nonsense. People don’t have a boy baby or a girl baby, they have a BABY because they want a little human in their life. People feel they can say anything to pregnant women.

People are so weird about this shit. They’re just projecting their ideas onto you! Congratulations on having another boy, that’s so exciting. Don’t let them affect your happy news

To balance out me slagging off my husband this morning, he has been so amazing since the scan. He absolutely loves that we’re having twins. He’s been reading about them online and is so excited.

He also loves that no one can comment on my pregnancy now cause no one else has had twins so they can’t compare. (Thinking of the women at work commenting on my sickness and not wanting to breastfeed.)

Also I’m eating buttery crumpets for dinner and I’ve never eaten anything so good in my life.

My friend had twin boys a few years ago and her sickness was so bad she had to be signed off work and she could barely eat think it was over by 14 weeks for her but returned again in late pregnancy, hopefully it doesn’t last too long for you, the first trimester is really the worst!

I've only got one in there and have been signed off for over 8 weeks I'm 14 weeks and it's not getting much better, although I'm not being sick as frequently the headaches and nausea have been next level.

On a funnier note I have a parrot who is my total sidekick....I was being sick and he was with me and he was sitting on the pan going "woooooow" with the occasional "aw babe" thrown in least i have some entertainment while dying off

I thought being pregnant was all butterflies and smiles too

I am a marketers dream just bought my pram cos it had £200 off the pram and a free isofix base I'm getting so excited now

I can tell he’s more upset at missing the birth than he’s letting on I feel like crying cos I’m so upset. Can tell once I’m home I will have a good cry. I ended up in the room on my own screaming cos I knew I needed to push and no one was with me.

Hope the rest of you who are due don’t have to labour alone, but if it does happen our bodies are amazing and we can do more than we think we can.

That’s so sad but glad you and baby are safe and sounds like you handled it like a champ.

I’ve been to breast clinic today, had some weird skin changes and swelling on my breast for a few weeks and GP referred me on cancer pathway. Thankfully scan was fine and I’m free to go, feel so relieved!! End up having all sorts of awful scenarios running through your head.

People just like to be dramatic especially when they know you’re a first time mum. I had a traumatic first birth, but it didn’t stop me going on to have another child and wanting more. While it can be hard and circumstances for everyone are different, it is a pain that many forget. In hindsight, I wish more women talked less about the gore and complications during labour (that not everyone will experience btw) and more about how to cope in those first weeks post-birth. I felt like I was way out of my depth and hormones had a lot to answer for.

After my birth I was kept in overnight and I'd never changed a nappy or anything before
I was constantly pressing the button and the nurse kept coming asking if my baby was due a feed or due to be changed and I just kept staring at her like uhhh?
Literally felt clueless!
And then she brought me a bottle and just told me to feed him the bottle and I was like Um... How often do I burp them and how do I do it?

I hadn't even thought to read up on these things!
