I came off the pill in December, I had 1 very short period in April (like 2 days) and I still haven’t had another one, I’m on day 126…please tell me this is not unusual? I am so worried something is wrong!

I’m 81 days without a period since stopping the pill - I’m worried too. Think it may be worth ringing your GP if you’re concerned although I have read about post pill amenorrhea x

So far I haven’t actually noticed any benefits from being off the pill 😞 and I’m going to give it another couple of months before I go back on.

Headaches and brain fog have continued, still anxious irritable and mood swings, appetite has increased, absolutely zero libido to the point I don’t even want to cuddle with my boyfriend let alone have sex, I even think I’m more hairy now. Maybe this is just me 😂 I thought it was all down to the pill!
If you haven’t had a period yet pixi, it could be your natural hormones are taking a while to kick in so you might not be noticing any changes just yet. Like you say I would give it another couple of months.

If not, have you tried other pills with different hormones or hormone levels in? I tried a few and some were awful for me.

I stopped taking mine in December 2019 after 15 years as I thought it was impacting my mental health. I didn’t have a period, or any bleeding, for 8 months and since around November 2020 I’ve had full acne down my back and neck/into my hairline. I didn’t think things would still be changing so far down the line, but the original reason I went onto it as a teenager was to control the acne.

I was on the pill since I was about 16 except 2 years when I had an implant and stopped taking at the end of jan as well. I’m 32 now. Have had 2 periods so far and not as bad as I was expecting although hating not know exactly when it’s going to be anymore.
I’ve noticed my skin has broke out recently and think it might be related.

I’m heavily considering coming off I have been in the pill since I was 14/15 and I’m 32 and never had a break and on my break I hardly bleed. I’m not TTC though and the worry of getting caught pregnant scares me and do not want to use condoms (I’m in a relationship) but still don’t want an unplanned pregnancy, what do you all use? I’m not sure I trust an app 😂

Also I’m on my 7 day break at the minute, do I just stop and don’t s start again after 7 days? I’m due my blood pressure check but I suppose I can just cancel that and not take my pill whenever my break ends?

I stopped taking the mini pill 30th August, had a bit of bloody discharge and the most horrendous stomach cramps but nothing else. I have been in the combined pill for 7 years then Mirena for 24 years the Cerazette, I have a son that I conceived whilst on the pill and got Mirena after he was born.
I was just sick of the headaches and mood swings that I seem to get on Cerazette , I have always thought I had PCOS but there was nothing in the scan. I am now 47 so not sure what to expect.

I came off the pill about a year ago and was on it for extremely heavy periods - I have noticed no real problems and luckily don't suffer with heavy periods so think it was my age. I will say that since coming off the pill my skin has got quite bad and have noticed quite a few more spots than usual.

Edited: I was on the pill for coming for 5 / 6 years.

This month has been a bit more interesting. No period as of yet, but a lot of PMT in the form of tears, moodiness. Tender boobs and a bit of bloating. Day 28 of cycle and still no sign of bleeding. However, I think this is much closers to my natural cycle pre pill. I didn’t used to track exactly but I know I would get one period a month every four weeks or so. It’s just the last three cycles were so short that I’m starting to get worried (ridiculous I know!) and the Flo app keep telling me ’late period’ and asking me whether or not I’m pregnant!(I’m definitely not), which is making me feel like there’s something wrong. I was so smug as well about how my body had gone back to normal!

Happy to find this thread ❤
I came off Triregol in June as we'd just got married and now TTC. Been on one pill or another for about 15 years but that particular one for about 3 years. Guess I was naive in expecting a regular cycle. Had a withdrawal bleed straight away and what I would describe as a proper period the following month. Worked out the likely dates of periods for the next few months as we're having a wedding reception and honeymoon next month and I'd rather not be dealing with AF for them! Anyway, she arrived a week early this month so now all the dates are out of whack 🙄 so I'm wondering whether to start my pill again for a couple of months just for period control and then stop again in October.

Ok this is weird but yesterday I felt a random twinge in one side, it only lasted a few seconds and seemed to come out of now where. I then looked on Clue and it was saying that yesterday was my “possible ovulation” day! I’m sure I’m reading too much into it, but how cool if not only I ovulated on the exact day it says I would... but also that I can feel the ovulation. I guess time will tell if I also get my period right on cue... is the length of time between ovulation and period always the same? Or does it differ for everyone?

I’m about 6 weeks post pill now and the last week or so my skin has started to break out a little around my chin. I’m assuming this is hormonal and the only good thing is that my hormones are at work 😂

So been having relatively normal periods since I came off the pill around March/April. However the last 2 months it’s gone crazy, my cycle is something like 24 days and at the moment I’ve been bleeding since last Friday which is unheard of for me (I have only ever bled for 3/4 days). What’s more, Ive never had a period this heavy. TMI but I took out my cup after a few hours because I noticed some spotting and it was completely full! Blood was just coming out of me into the toilet  I’ve been feeling very dizzy and light headed which explains why. Ive started taking iron tablets because I’m genuinely worried I’m actually going to bleed to fucking death. Ive never in my whole life had a period this heavy wtf.
Have you had the COVID vaccine in that time? There’s a whole thread on here about ladies who’s periods have gone haywire since having it!

That definitely doesn’t sound right! Have you had your hormone levels checked? Acne and weight gain could be a sign of PCOS. Also what do you mean with your vulva skin - have you been tested for STIs and BV/Thrush, it could be something you’re not quite shifting. Also you may be allergic to washing powders or certain fabrics which could lead to irritation to the sensitive skin.
The vulva skin thing is hard to describe but it's almost definitely hormone related - it peaks with my cycle hormones almost exactly and disappears during my period. It's like the skin on my pubic region is suddenly really sensitive to touch, and my bikini line gets irritated. It's like cyclic inflammation? There's no involvement of the 'internal' parts at all.

I'd considered PCOS but I didn't know if there were 'mild' versions of it, as I've not had excessive hair, or hair loss. I know people with PCOS suffer an awful lot and I didn't think my experience was near that. Now I come to think of it though, apparently insulin resistance and PCOS are a common combination and a symptom of insulin resistance can be...vulva irritation...hmmm...

I came off the mini pill in November 2019 and since then I’ve had regular periods every 28-30 days which is so reassuring, I found the mini pill so unpredictable for periods, one month I would have two small periods, then nothing for a month. It was stressful!

Yeah I will give it a while, I just had this image of coming off and being a whole new woman 😂 Possibly slightly optimistic!
I’ve tried a couple, with low estrogen, haven’t tried the mini pill though. I’m only allowed on the mini pill now if I decide to go back on if I want to get it from the GP.

Just if anyone is coming off marvelon and interested in my experience of my first cycle and how long things took and what I noticed.

Took my last pill on 11th April 2021, had my withdrawal bleed on 14th April and had a 44 day cycle - ovulated on day 32. Got my first ‘real’ period on 28th May.

It felt like it took forever but I think was probably quite average from what I’ve read online. Hoping it will regulate now but we will see.

Day 1-32 (pre ovulation), I noticed I had so much more energy and I also felt like I was a lot less snappy with my husband (he too commented on this). My appetite decreased and just generally felt a lot better. I did however get thrush for the first time in over 10 years, I’m guessing due to hormonal changes. Had some ovulation cramping.

Post ovulation I went back to feeling how I used to on the pill, pretty lethargic, craved junk - I also spotted for 2 days and had strong back pain and cramps before my period which I never had before - usually only during (I’m hoping this was just the once.) Also the bloating in the second part of my cycle was like nothing I have experienced before - it went as soon as my period started but I was 7 pounds heavier just in bloat. I’m not looking forward to that every month. I was very needy for a couple of days too and definitely snappier during my pms than I have ever been! I basically told my husband I hated him yesterday because he forgot to wear his new shoes 🥴 I’m a keeper.

Thoughout the cycle my hair has been noticeably greasier than when I was on the pill and I have vivid dreams almost every night now which I never had before. Skin has been good and a lot brighter, I only broke out on my chin the day my period started which is standard for me.

So yes, overall I think it’s a positive experience so far and would do it again even if we weren’t TTC!

Hello guys I came across this thread and I’m hoping you ladies can give me advice!

came off Rigevedion in December as I wanted a break. First 3 months of post pill were fine I had light periods in 28 day cycles. I’ve been using condoms with my partner when we’ve had sex.

Then in late April I spoke to my Dr and they have put me on Gederel (my intention was always to go back on another pill) told to start on the first day of my period which should’ve been early May. I had a period but it was more just brown discharge (TMI sorry) and it was gone in a day. Because I thought it was my period starting I started my new pill. Since then I’ve been so bloated and uncomfortable like the day before a period but no more bleeding. I haven’t taken a pregnancy test as I’m not sure if it’s just the effects of starting my new pill? Also with my period being so light I was told that I was probably not even ovulating so wouldn’t have been fertile. I also had a smear come back all fine at the end of April so I know I’m fine there.

my head is a mess any help or reassurance greatly received!!

A few months ago I posted that I hadn’t had a period since December since coming off the pill, well I spoke to the drs this week after getting my bloods taken and it looks like I have PCOS. I am really gutted as I definitely want children but I am a bit older and still haven’t met someone and now I am in a spiral of worry that I’m never going to be able to have them 😭
Aww I remember feeling exactly the same when I got diagnosed with PCOS. Depending on the doctor they can make it seem even worse

I know it’s hard but just remember there are plenty of people who go on to get pregnant with no help. There are also really effective medication that can help you have regular periods and ovulate 💕
