The greasy hair is definitely a thing I’ve noticed. I used to be able to get away with washing it once a week, but am now noticing it’s greasy after only two days.
My hair gets really greasy really quickly now - never thought that it could be down to coming off the pill although it has been over a year since i came off it so maybe its not related for me.

This is a relief. I came off the pill after 16 years in December. I'd still had no period as of a couple of weeks ago. I am back on it because my skin just went crazy as did my libido (not had one.... ever and single so not needed! Haha)

I’m about 6 weeks post pill now and the last week or so my skin has started to break out a little around my chin. I’m assuming this is hormonal and the only good thing is that my hormones are at work 😂
Yes me too. Only in the last few days but it’s noticeable. I’ve probably cursed myself by saying my skin has been ok since stopping 😂

i'm having my first ovulation since i've stopped taking the pill and my boobs hurt like crazy 😂 i can barely walk! any tips? 😁
How do you know! I never know when I’m ovulating - but I don’t think I have as only came off the pill a couple of months ago! Maybe a sports bra would be most comfortable? Sounds painful!

Ok so since I’ve been off the pill I’ve gained more weight than I have over the many years I was on it. I’ve somehow put on over half a stone in the past 2 weeks alone. I was always quite steady with my weight, it was fluctuate by a couple pounds but I’m heavier now than I have been in a very long time. My eating habits haven’t changed that much, maybe I’ve been having a few extra snacks here and there but nothing to warrant a 7lbs weight gain. I’m so down about it, I feel like it’s spiralling out of control. I thought people lost weight when they cam off the pill 😐

Guys, have any of you experienced really short periods after coming off the pill? I was really heavy day one, medium flow day two then none existent day three. Was the same last cycle (although I had a four day period last cycle which I know is normal). Before the pill I had 7 day periods.
Yep! Mine were incredibly light for nearly a year 🙈 I would literally have 1 day of spotting then that would be it! I was surprised at how long it took to go back to what I knew as normal

Not 100% related but has anyone had norethisterone to delay period? I took it for a week during a holiday and then had my period straight after I stopped taking it, but then I’ve had nothing since and that was 7 weeks ago?! I think it has messed up my periods and they were like clockwork before 😤

hey pixi, long time no speak 😊

What was your cycle length the few months before? If it’s got shorter, it likely means you are ovulating earlier than you were before. It may actually be that the first few cycles you had were longer, and your cycles have now regulated and are actually meant to be 24 days. That would be just within the parameters of a ‘normal’ cycle as you could be ovulating on cycle day 10-12 then having a 12-14 day luteal phase (the time between ovulation and your period).

maybe see how the next cycle shakes out? With the heavier periods, hopefully you’re just having one heavier one but if you get worried about too much bleeding maybe speak to a Dr.
Hey 👋 according to my tracking app the first few were between 28-30 days, and the last 2 have been 23/24 - I was hoping my cycle would settle as a bit longer than that as I hate being on😭 I really hope they don’t stay this heavy, though thankfully I’ve not had much cramping this month.

Ok this is weird but yesterday I felt a random twinge in one side, it only lasted a few seconds and seemed to come out of now where. I then looked on Clue and it was saying that yesterday was my “possible ovulation” day! I’m sure I’m reading too much into it, but how cool if not only I ovulated on the exact day it says I would... but also that I can feel the ovulation. I guess time will tell if I also get my period right on cue... is the length of time between ovulation and period always the same? Or does it differ for everyone?
Everyone is different but I think usually your personal luteal phase (time between ovulation and your period) stays mostly the same. So if this time it’s 14 days, it should be about that next time too.

The phase before ovulation can vary though from what I’ve read. I didn’t feel ovulation but I had very period esq cramps at the time (I know I ovulated from ovulation tests and temperature tracking though). Some people say they feel like a ‘pop’ sensation.

I've tried to come off the pill again....and I'm having constant brown spotting about 2/3 weeks after stopping and it's driving me so mad I want to go back on the pill to make it end!!

Has anyone else has this? How long does it last I was on the pill purely to stop periods as I hate them so this is really bothering me

Has anyone found that their period has been really short since coming off the pill? I stopped in jan this year and had regular ish periods but the last 2 months my period had only lasted 3 days and had really bad pms beforehand. Very teary/hormonal etc. I don’t know if this is normal or if I should be worried?
I didn’t have the pill but I had the implant for 7 years, had it out last august and my periods are shorter and lighter now!

Second half of my cycle is really not good for me, I think it’s a reaction the progesterone after ovulation as obvs I wasn’t getting that when I was on my pill, but my have awful stomach cramps (not the same as period cramps) and other delightful digestion issues again this month after ovulation.

Hope it settles but it’s so uncomfortable 😩 I don’t remember having this problem before I went on the pill.

I came off the pill around Christmas time and didn't have any periods until 3 months later. It was the heaviest period I have ever had and longest too. I was bleeding heavily for nearly 3 weeks and the GP said they could give me another hormone tablet to help but I didn't want to take a hormone to get rid of another hormone tablet so refused it. I have not had another period since then. I have got acne and greasy hair and really emotional lol. I'm 24 and was microgynon for 2 years. Just wanted to give my body a break and have normal periods but it has really ruined my regular period cycle. I used to have really regular monthly periods for as long as I can remember.

I've been thinking about coming off the combined pill after starting at 17yo (I'm now 30) but I'm scared! I've been constantly toying with the idea and then convincing myself it's not worth it. I want to see if I feel better mental health wise and see if it makes a difference to my eczema problem but I'm also worried about what I'll be like as it's been so long I don't actually know my 'normal'.
Also, im terrified of getting pregnant but don't want to try the coil or anything else instead. I'm used to having 1 or 2 periods a year so that in itself makes me want to stay on the pill as its an easy life 😂. I'm also a bit worried about getting spots/smaller boobs which is shallow but does come in to it.

I’m 5 weeks post coming off the pill and I’ve had what I think is ovulation pain for the last week. So no withdrawal bleed or signs of period. Dr Google isn’t helping my paranoia 😔

The change in hormones has definitely affected my dreams, i had maybe had one dream I remembered in the past year but lately I am having the weirdest most vivid dreams every single night. Bizarre.

A few months ago I posted that I hadn’t had a period since December since coming off the pill, well I spoke to the drs this week after getting my bloods taken and it looks like I have PCOS. I am really gutted as I definitely want children but I am a bit older and still haven’t met someone and now I am in a spiral of worry that I’m never going to be able to have them 😭
I also have PCOS after coming off the pill early this year. I didn’t have a period for a long time and after scans and blood tests it was confirmed. I am actually trying to conceive which has made the process a lot more complicated and I have been told we have to have been trying a year before we are offered any help. However the doctor recommended a supplement that has worked for their previous patients called Infolic Alpha. I have been having it twice a day for 3 months now and I have had a period each of those months and some of my other PCOS symptoms have reduced too. Maybe something you can look into? I get mine from https://www.fertilityfamily.co.uk/

I’m sorry you’re feeling down about this! It’s awful when there is no logical explanation! I haven’t heard of people loosing weight when they came off the pill but do you think it could just be your hormones trying to regulate. Like a week before you come on your period your weight can go up but when you’ve finished it goes back to normal? Have you had a period or a withdrawal bleed yet?
