Hmmm I have always felt he had potential to be a knob. I will give it a go. You should try the Drew B one from the pod I found accidentally. It’s from her little girl lost book that was written when she was 14…it is MENTAL @skronkywildcat
I totally will. I love ‘wild child‘ stories. Did you ever read Cat Marnell’s memoir?

Definitely recommend a podcast that is on BBC sounds about the criminal life of Curtis, Warren charts, his criminal life from when he was growing up in Granby Toxteth from him robbing old women and taxing prostitutes in the city’s red light district to robbing cars, attacking police officers and his role in the Toxteth riots to being a nightclub bouncer that where he was wanted, used to the drugs trade to him dealing directly with the Cali cartel, the first drug dealer to cut the middle man out and meet up with representatives of the Cali cartel. He is also the first and only drug trafficker to be listed on the Sunday Times. Rich list in the UK. It’s quite a fascinating listen from teenage takeaway to the biggest drug baron in Britain
Gangster? Yes I really liked that too

I know this is a bit of a dormant thread but I’ve just discovered the “Celebrity Memoir Book Club“ podcast. It is very funny and a bit bitchy - so far I’ve listened to the episodes about Lena Dunham, Leandra Medine, some playboy bunny who lived in the mansion, Travis Barker and Janice Dickinson. The hosts are two american 30-something female comedians. It’s good - I listen while cooking dinner.

I’ve never come across someone who enjoyed ear hustle like I did! It was my firm favourite for so long and the first podcast I loved and got into!
---

Hoaxed is available on sp

Hoaxed is available on Spotify if you have that.
---

I love a podcast - find they really help me focus when working as music can distract me.
The podcasts I enjoy/have enjoyed

-Sweet Bobby
- Pig Iron
- Ear Hustle
- My therapist ghosted me
- Queen of the Con
- Hoaxed (I didn’t like this as much as other documentary podcasts but still enjoyable)
- Can I tell you a secret
- Harsh Reality - Miriam Rivera was good also

searched for this thread as I’m all out of my favourite podcasts and need some new recommendations
love all of these!

You would like the Slow News podcast, loads of one off shorter investigations from the same journalists who made hoaxed etc.

A couple of true crime ones I thought were decent - Paradise (on BBC sounds) and Catching Melanie's Killer

Some other general recommendations (mostly comedy) - Friends with Friends, Elis and John, Parks and Recollection (going through every ep of Parks and Rec which is heaven for me ha), All Killa No Filla, Socially Distant Sports Bar

Ah I’m wanting to give this a go too but worried it might be too depressing/emotional. My mum died when I was 19 and she was only in her 50’s. I heard her on parenting hell and totally agree when people’s parents die 80 odd or something and say they know how it feels. No you don’t!
Yeah it is emotional at times but she does make some sense about grief. I would say, start with one of the comedian ones she did. I find it quite cathartic. Sending you lots of love xx

Listened to some They Walk Among Us, was a bit deflated after 😬 heavy listening but is okay. Until Rylan interrupts with an ad.

Sweet Bobby
Sorry, but she was equally as ridiculous as Simran.
Put some random one on about English murders and the actors had American accents saying “mam” 🤣 ⏹

Listened to Parcast’s Serial Killers before on Gilbert Paul, preferred their style as there was less waffle.

I'm currently listening to The Trojan Horse Affair which is about the alleged plot to infiltrate Birmingham schools by Islamic extremists which then introduced British values in schools as part of the prevent startegy. Very eye opening stuff

Other suggestions:
- Crypto Island
- The Lazarus Heist

If you enjoy fiction podcast I'd highly recommend The Bright Sessions. It's a bit cheesy at times, follows a therapist as she helps those with superpowers essentially

Other fiction suggestions:
- Limetown, though I gave up on season 2
