Me too! Iv had a mental week at work and I didn't realise that you could see it last night! It's so typical because usually I'm such a night owl and I'm always star gazing when I can! I was gutted I missed last night and I'm so excited for tonight in case I see anything!

Hoping to catch the northern lights but I live right next to the city so I fear the light pollution will be enough to mean I miss it.
Sorry for an unhelpful answer, but there isn't a usual time, it depends on when the charged particles reach the atmosphere. But the darker it is the better.What times usually the best time to see them? So I can try and go into the carpark at work to look

alternatively if you have Facebook, follow Wil Photography and sign up for alerts- he's great at telling you when they're coming!
You're best to wait 60-90 mins after sunset so that sky is dark enough
Strangely last night we got best views of Aurora by looking straight up in sky and to the west ( in Wales)
forecast is for another big storm tonight,( even bigger than last night) however likely to be more cloud cover, but should still be able to see something
Aurora watch just did red alert - should be visible by eye north of England upwards

I have the Stellarium app on my phone. Last night we saw Jupiter, Uranus and Mars.
Castor and Pollux were visible too from the gemini constellation
Yes, I've been enjoying them on my early-morning dog walks for the past 2 days - I'm on the north coast of Scotland and can see five out of six with the naked eye. Can't get any good pictures with my phone camera though
