I’ve got 4 ear piercings, 2 nose, eyebrow and belly button.

I’ve also got 3 tattoos … a small grey rabbit, a ginger cat and a tiny grey owl. All my tattoos have meanings to me as I couldn’t just stuck random stuff on my body as I’m far too particular 😆

Three tattoos
Deathly hallows on my left calf
Deaths head moth/skull thing in my right wrist
Full shoulder/upper arm on my right of a locket with a floral surround
Ears pierced twice
Nose pierced for 40 years

I used to have several holes in my ears.
They've closed up except my first lobes.I've recently shoved an earring through my 2nd hole , that one used to have a Chunky 2mm hoop through.

I would like more tattoos too, but I'm not sure exactly what I want , and finding a tattooist I feel comfortable with.

I only have double lobe and a conch right now and I think I'm sticking for more cartilage piercings in the mean time, I'm highly convinced art college made me boring lookswise and it reflected on me not being arsed to get more piercings because all I saw was people getting both them (the same types too, usually the nose) and tattoos to look like an 'individual' when reality was 80% were doing the same thing.... but all of a sudden the version that I would see myself being as a teenager officially came forward in the last year and it's almost like "duck it I'm going all in"

I still don't know what tattoo I'd get TBH 😅 They gave me the ick at one point because a guy who low-key negatively impacted my college experience is a tattoo artist but now honestly I don't care 🤪

Don’t know if this is the right thread, but does anyone have experience with tattoo removal?
I’m in the process of getting one of mine removed. It’s a gorgeous design but it’s quite big and on my arm. I just woke up one day and thought “ffs it’s huge and I hate it” out of nowhere and couldn’t come back from it. r/tattooremoval on Reddit has been invaluable to me and I got answers to all of my questions from other people’s posts.

Gutted that it’s 2025 and they still haven’t come up with a faster way of removal though. I can deal with the pain and cost but I have zero patience. I’ve found an amazing removal tech with the best laser and he still estimates it’ll take the best part of two years. 😞 The lighter shading goes immediately though so it is nice to see that difference as soon as you walk out from your appointment.

I might be able to help if you have questions and don’t want to go on Reddit?

Thank you I’ll check the subreddit! Will you be covering it up or aiming to totally remove it? I had a tattoo for a couple of years on my ribs and then I had the idea to add to the tattoo. Biggest mistake, because I haven’t liked my tattoo since the day I got the add on. I only have lines and no shading. If I go for removal I want it totally gone. I’m just scared that I’ll be wasting my money and it not being totally gone and hating it more than the tattoo I have now.

Yeah full removal - I’ve got 5 other tattoos I’m keeping but I don’t think I’ll ever trust myself to get another again in case I go off those too!

Black and grey can 99% of the time be fully removed on white skin. The main cause of you getting left with bits is if you didn’t follow the aftercare properly, like if you expose yourself to the sun too quickly afterwards or pick blisters etc. Best to get a consultation but I’d imagine you could aim for full removal! It will take a while if it’s line work but it’s such a nice feeling when you start removal and know you’re on the way. 🙂 If you’re anywhere near/can travel to Bristol then I’d recommend Wayne at the Reset Room. He used to be based in London and won best removal tech in London - so absolutely worth the travel!

Do you regret your other 5 or still love them? I have only one other one, but I still love that one and think I will love that one forever. I also don’t think I’ll be getting any more tattoos. I do like the look of some, but also scared that I will not like it on myself.

I am very white so that’s good to know. Sadly I don’t live in the UK. I’ll have to measure my tattoo and see how expensive it roughly will be per session and plan a consultation to see how many sessions I’ll need.

Thank you for your advice!

I love four of mine as they have special meanings, but two I got just because I thought they looked nice. They still look nice, but I just don’t want them anymore. One’s small and very hidden so I’m less bothered by it but I will probably get it removed after the one I’m removing now.

That sounds good though! Definitely do plenty of research into techs but also if you’re sure, don’t put off starting as before you know it six months will have passed and you’ll regret not being six months into your removal!

Definitely recommend the subreddit for recommendations and progress pics and things - and best of luck! 😄

Ive got 4 lobe piercings in each ear, plus a helix in my right ear, both nostrils and septum (my favourite piercing!) and navel.
Ive also got three tattoos - large ones on each forearm (both sentimental) and then a tiny daft one on my left arm. Got another fairly large piece booked for later this year.
I got my first tattoo at 39, plus all of my nose piercings. Finally feel like me!

One of the other piercings outside of the ear I'm thinking of getting is a navel piercing, I had a cartilage piercing done about 3 weeks ago - is there a suggested wait time (obviously after periods)? I'm feeling a bit YOLO but I want to be demure when it comes to piercings

I have 3 tattoos but getting 2 more in the next two months.
I have 2 lobes in both ears then a conch and 2 forward helixes in one ear. I want to get more piercings in the second ear a shen men and I'm not sure what. I was thinking a mid helix but I've heard they are painful and take a long time to heal. I only for the conch/forward helix two weeks ago but I can't sleep with them fine so what the other ear done ASAP. I'm now thinking a shen men and a daith but can you wear airpods after a daith or would it be too painful? I definitely want two in my second ear just can't decide on the second one

I have my daith pierced and I just have to flip the ring out to get earbuds in and they do sometimes pop out.

I will admit I find over ear headphones much more comfortable.

Maybe I won't get that then 🤔 I don't wear them often just sometimes if I'm away I wear them to sleep in so I can listen to white noise. I'd probably wear a bar I think I prefer the look of bars in general to hoops

I’m old, so all I have are earlobe piercings. I do like the piercings people seem to have these days in all parts of their ears though. I really came on here to ask what the fascination is with tattoos on females? Not judging in the slightest, I’m just trying to understand what makes you want to keep having them. I want to be more understanding and accepting when my daughter keeps having them and I thought it might help to get some younger people’s views and opinions.

Im 41 so not exactly young, but I only started getting tattoos when I was 39.
Its addictive, and they are making me love the parts of my body I used to hate. I feel like they are making me beautiful. I love looking at them, mine are all super colourful and they make me so happy. Mine all have special meanings behind them, and I plan to get a lot more! If money was no object, id be getting ink way more frequently than I do!
