Tbh.. so what? Why is this even worth talking about? He wants to have sex with men instead of his wife. People’s sexuality doesn’t define a person. Do what ever you want Phillip no business of everyone’s but you and your wife! I just don’t understand why people need to declare what turns them on?? Just get on with it! It only affects you and whoever your with... no business of anyone else.

I'm amazed how interested everyone is. I went out last night and the number of conversations I heard stating 'so... Philip Schofield' was ridiculous.

Although one bloke didn't know who he was and his mate said he's presented GMTV for 30 years 😂😂

Apparently the rumours are that he wanted to present I'm a celeb abbr since he was knocked back he's been vile. Don't forget he was also instrumental in getting fern kicked off. I don't want Richard back, he is awful and poor Judy won't be well enough to present. I don't like Rochelle and have to say I really don't like all the drunkenness and giggling, so cringe. Is like fern and her hubby Phil to present. Also love Ruth and eamon.

I think yesterday everyone was stunned by what was going on. Not that he’s gay but the drama of it all. I do wonder why you’d not quietly separate from your wife first...this could explain it. Jesus what a shitshow!

Yes, I believe that. At the moment, you see Bradley Walsh trying his best to get his son established in showbusiness with that programme they have touring the US. He started a couple of years ago bringing his son along to tv awards ceremonies. Lorraine Kelly tried shoving her daughter in front of the camera. What is particularly annoying is that there is a very limited tv industry in this country and these people dominate that market - nobody else can get on the ladder let alone climb it.

Could it have been a press trade off? E.g. "ok I'll come out and give you a story about me bring gay provided you dont ever publish that I'm a bully". I know Beckham has done trade off like that with the press I read it on another thread lol.

It is so PR managed it would make you want to vomit. He is having to admit he knew when he got married. So, why get married? I too hope this is the beginning of the end for him and it is nothing to do with his sexuality. It's got a lot to do with his general character and attitude. He has stretched very little talent a long way. As for these NT awards, I don't bother watching them. On the morning of the awards, I received an email from one of the event sites offering basic tickets for £90 for 2021. There were only a few tickets available at that price. The rest are hospitality packages. I wasn't spending good money to watch a crowd of talentless twits getting awarded for nothing and using my ticket price to get drunk.

Yes, I agree about Ruth and Eamonn likely forced into it. I thought Eamonn in particular looked uncomfortable, especially with PS trying to hold his hand and then hug him. Uncomfortable and forced when you take into account that Ruth had made a formal complaint about PS. ITV shouldn't have pushed R & E into the middle of this. PS and HW could have done their bit to camera on their own.

I think that was his way of letting people know, that he hasn't hurt her, he's never lied to her and she's always known.

Tbf I don't think the blackmail and press release thing was just here. I've seen it all over the place - some of the first comments on the DM article.
I think something forced his hand. Maybe not as dramatic as blackmail etc but there probably was a catalyst outside his control.

I don’t think it’s fair to say there’s no such thing as homophobia and it wouldn’t damage his career 27 years ago.
Whilst I think his statement was contrived and planned to help his public persona, it doesn’t detract that it is still an unfair playing ground for lgbtqplus community. I don’t think he’s done it any favours as he seems the type that would have pulled the ladder up behind him.
But, an out man would not have had his gig full time. Not even ten years ago. LGBTQplus people rarely get lead straight playing roles. There is still systematic homophobia within sport and other industries.
Whilst entertainment is further toward than most fields, it’s not as much as we thing. Whilst there might be gay hair dressers, set designers etc. Actual gay men fronting shows like (my fave human ever) Rylan are rare.
For me that’s what’s annoying. Open secret or not it could of been something positive. But instead it feels lIke it was done for financial gain.
hopefully someone watching felt empowered by it. Because in 2020 there are still people who don’t believe they can live their life being who they really are.
