Why is every woman over the age of 20 suddenly up his arse? Bit late now ladies he likes the sausage
Except me** being gay or straight doesn’t make him a better person either way neither does it make him nice.

Possibly interesting timing but I can honestly say watching him and Ruth interact this morning after they all came together for a few moments I don't think any of them were faking that emotion. She wasnt just hugging him she held him. Fair play Phil
Fair play for what? So what if he’s gay. No one else in the country has people falling over themselves to be nice when they come out. He’s still a prick regardless of sexuality.

I despise Schofield , it’s a strong word but he brings out the red mist in me .

He’s a slimy, smarmy twat who’d eat himself if he was made of chocolate. He’s a competent presenter but he clearly thinks he’s the daytime version of Paxman.

Utter knob and the way he dribbles over HW is nauseating.

Am I the only one who can remember him treating Holly like shit when she first started? When interviewing he basically clicked his fingers when she was & wasn’t allowed to speak.

Come to think of it, I actually think Cat Deeley and her husband the comedian Patrick Kielty should present This Morning. They'd be great,

I’m finding a lot of the comments on this thread quite hard to read. Whether you like Philip or not, coming out as gay at the age of 57 IS a brave thing to do. Homophobia is sadly still rife, even in this day and age. I know, first hand, the effects of keeping a ‘secret’ like this can do to someone. It eats away, slowly chipping away at you until it takes you to the brink. But telling the truth and being who you truly are is sometimes too much for some people, largely due to the reactions of others. Some comments saying ‘oh he’ll be on dancing on ice next year’ and ‘ Philip and Rylan will be best mates etc’ WHY???? because he’s gay??? FFS this narrow minded ignorance is why people find it so hard to be honest. And has anyone thought maybe he’s difficult to work with because he’s been carrying this for years?
Homophobia isn’t “rife” these days. Sexuality has had protected status in law for over 15 years... even the church is permitting same sex marriages.

eh, it was a very different time though even 25/30 years ago, hate him all you want but he clearly didn’t want to be gay, he clearly does loves his wife.
He’s a dick but we don’t know what the reaction to being gay was back then 🤷‍♀️ I’m sure he wasn’t the only one trying to suppress his sexuality
He could have come out 10 or 15 years ago though

I know right?! It's a puzzler 🤔

Look who looks after Richard & Judy 👀

This is awful. So many young people take out large student loans to study relevant media courses and they either don't get an opportunity, or they've got to work as a jumped up office junior and probably don't get much further than that. Has anyone noticed that celebrities' kids always want to be on tv, film industry or a model. I'd shake the hand of any of them who qualified as a nurse, teacher or ambulance driver.

See, that's my theory on this. I think that everyone around him on GM knew about this for ages and were OK with it. Kind of, "yeah, his life, up to him and not my business". But more recently, deffo within this past year, something has happened that made his colleagues no longer OK with his behaviour (in regards to his sexuality). Maybe he got too cocky(no pun intended) or messed that MM guy about too much and they couldn't stomach PS's hypocrisy. It's very messy and sure to get worse. I think he'll need to take leave.

Yep it says he refuses to say if he is in a relationship with a man.
In other words, he is. In Friday's programme he as much as said he wasn't interested at the moment. Doesn't half change his story does old Phil

He has told the Sun that he knew he was gay when he got married. Why get married then? To make sure his sexuality didn't hamper his career. That is all PS is interested in. Himself and his career. I wonder if his wife knew and the whole thing has been agreed between them. It would be nobody's business, except by announcing it on a national tv program, they have made it everybody's business. This has been worked out by a damage limitation team, no doubt and his wife is complicit in it. She has enjoyed the lifestyle and fame by association.

also... in the article someone posted from years ago when he denied being gay he stated that he had always been and always would be monogamous "because he was terrified of catching aids!"

Just came here to say I’ve always thought Philip seemed like an absolute arse but my friend who was a runner on dancing on ice said that he was polite, but that Holly was rude. I still think he’s a knob regardless. And I can’t stand Holly’s fake personality and her constantly glazed over, vacant face.

I can’t stand her, she’s SO fake. Crap at interviews, all she does is coo over people and spout cliches like “bless you”. She never really listens to what people say. Always seems like she’s in a rush to be finished! She literally works for 50minutes a day, term time only! 🙄 Tax dodger.
I've always wondered why she works term time only when her daughter is about 25 😂. Surprised she's still got her own show, god she's boring I'm sure she must have something over someone at ITV!

He’s said he was starting to hate himself. No excuse, but perhaps that’s why he’s been considered “not nice” behind the scenes, because he hated himself?
That's what I thought. I genuinely don't think he is perfect but perhaps he has struggled for years with his feelings and confusion in himself and how to go about things, especially being well known and the reception it would get. Yet already people are coming on saying he's making it all about him and how dislikeable he is, no wonder people hide things up and mental health rockets. Perhaps it wasn't his idea to come on today and the producers advised it because in this day and age it's all about coming out and inspiring others etc. Can you imagine if he did it yesterday or any other day this week, coming out and then having to return back to interviewing people and keeping professional. I think some people are a bit too harsh on him when Eamonn has said some very insensitive comments himself.
