Peter has cancer, (the care is not through BUPA). The reason this got out is because nurses caring for him told people about it - they were suspended. The treatment is currently going very well. That's all I can say.
Those nurses should never work as nurses again.

I've never heard of him being famously not-liked or by other comedians?

I'm only going by my southern friends not getting his humour or liking him!
One of the famous examples of this is his relationship with Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice - he co-wrote Phoenix Nights with them then took all the credit. I think they lost out significantly financially too. Also the guy who played Spencer really despises him too, and that’s from just one show. If you have a little google there is plenty out there with regards to his attitude and behaviour towards others. I like his comedy in a lot of ways but it really taints it when you find out he’s an arsehole!

I'm way more disturbed by somebody supposedly working for BUPA spreading a patient's private information about than I am by PK supposedly having cancer. Maybe that's just me. 🤷‍♀️

To be honest if you heckle at a gig you get what you deserve. They are paid to make jokes and shouting out ruins it especially when you’re not witty and it’s constant.
My ex heckled at a comedy show once and the guy went to town on him finishing with calling him Capt Mainwaring (who he did resemble slightly).

I saw this comment on an article, which gives a bit of perspective from the audiences point of view. Sounds like the hecklers had it coming!

I don't find the Lisa Riley comment offensive, it's one of the oldest comedy tricks in the book to call someone a celeb/character they have a passing resemblance to. But I can see how it could touch a nerve if you were insecure about your weight, but most comedy does touch a nerve in some way

After watching last night I said his appearance had done nothing to quash the rumours about him having been ill. Hat pulled right down, sunglasses on, so we couldnt see his head or his eye brows. And sitting down, that is just not the Peter Kay we know. Also the clips they showed right at the start of the video were, I am pretty sure, not him either. I thought they were going to recreate the video with him in, not show the old one. If he was well and wanted to support the cause he would have redone it with the public in the background.

Sadly I do think all the rumours are true and he has been very poorly. I do wish him well and hope he has now turned a corner.

The fact that Tony Christie took part in the Big Night In Amarillo ‘remake’ marching along in his 80’s makes me more convinced that Peter is unwell.

I think on the one hand, his personal life is exactly that, personal and can be kept private if he so wishes. On the other hand, however, he is a public figure, funded by the public so for him to cancel an entire tour disrupting peoples plans I think people deserve to know why.
I sometimes think it's worse to keep it so secret because people go digging and speculating, whereas if he just told people what was wrong he'd receive nothing but support and positivity.

I heard from a journalist friend a few years ago that he is poorly but there is something in place so it’s not revealed to the public.

I’m from the north east and I’d say it’s fairly indicative of a lot of places round here too 😂 That said, his material is still stale and needs a drastic refresh. There’s only so long you can dine out on the same story.
I agree. Tbh, I like his material mainly because it takes me back to my teens in the 90s. 1990s Bolton 🤣. Life was so much simpler back then 🤣

I do think this is why he bangs on about kidney stones in his show. 'Here's one illness so you don't ask about the other'.

Well unfortunately it’s a PK thread not a bupa one. It happened. The sad fact is if this is his second bout I’m not sure how good the prospects are for a reappearance of it again. Really hope not. Does PK have kids?
The sad fact is somebody supposedly working for BUPA leaked a patient's private information that ended up on a PK thread because it's supposedly PK that they are talking about? I am sure your brother who works for BUPA and close enough to know all of PK's info so he can tell you what his prospects are along with how many kids he has. Why are you asking here? :ROFLMAO:

One of my colleagues saw him live recently she said he was funny but alot of his material is the same old thing like growing up in the 70s and the misheard song lyrics etc
The misheard lyrics,70s stuff, uncle knob head etc is his style. People would be disappointed if he didn't do any of that stuff. We saw him last summer and he was fab!!

Not bs sadly.
Well, regardless of whether it’s true or not you shouldn’t be spouting off about his personal info on here and your brother certainly shouldn’t be telling you about his confidential medical info, it’s a sackable offence, your brother will be well aware of this working in the medical profession. It’s also in very bad taste.

I would never pay to go and see him live but I watch his YouTube channel and what he observes is so relevant to my own life and my family upbringing that it does amuse me!
And me. There is one sketch he did where he talked about big family parties or ‘do‘s’ and how everyone does a ‘walking to the dance floor dance’ when a song they like comes on and they head to the dance floor. It’s true!
