I can’t work out if Pete is gay or has severe commitment issues. I always wondered if he’s autistic as his nephew is.

He’s definitely a strange one,he says he wants to live off grid with just his dogs and hates the limelight…but he’s in a different club every week off his face and in the papers with a different woman weekly…he’s turning into the male Katie Price at this point.

Rooting for Pete to win strictly, it would be great for someone who isn’t already a dancer to do it. I think he’ll improve and that’s for me, what the show is all about. He isn’t a natural dancer and I love how self deprecative he is. He also has the best chemistry with his dancer.

I have a theory that Pete is neurodivergent; it’s genetic (his nephew is autistic) several of his closest friends, Sam, Vicky etc are all ADHD, the neurodiverse tend to find each other, and his dopamine seeking behaviour is around sex or the feeling of being wanted/adored….

I’m absolutely convinced.

I didn’t know this thread existed but I’m new to the Pete love. Never thought of him but something has stirred within me from strictly. I keep dreaming of the man I’m also convinced he’s ND. I am too and they always say if you want to find out who else is out them in a room with another ND person. His friendship with Sam, the masking, the tough exterior when we can tell he’s soft deep down. I’m now convinced more than ever that we should be together

I felt like that about him and Jamie tonight. I do think they've got the fan bases behind them to keep them in (hopefully). I've said it before and I'll say it again, they (especially Pete) are what Strictly is about. It's about seeing improvement in limited / non dancers for me. I get much more enjoyment from watching them than JB, Tasha and Sarah.

Agree that the podcast is getting worse. There is basically no content, just Sam constantly purposefully making weird innuendos and saying 'I didn't mean it like that!'. Pete is the only reason I keep listening but it feels like it's gone off the rails. Sam has become insufferable. It's like he feels like he really has to exaggerate this over the top, hyper, excessively optimistic persona and it's making him come across as really fake. I wish he would be real and himself and he'd be a lot more likeable. I also find it weird how they keep bringing up his breakup while also being secretive about it. I understand him not wanting to talk about it but if that's the case just don't mention it at all!

Where I’m from, that word is a really nasty name for someone who is gay, so either it doesn’t mean that in Newcastle or Aaron has just made an arse of himself by accusing a straight man of being gay by going for his ex girlfriend

Literally. He is hot. Even if his personality was shit, he's very good looking.

I think he's a genuinely lovely person and has played up to the persona he's had on TV for a number of years, knowing the more he does the more he can earn. In a similar way to Rylan (albeit not as in your face), there's public Pete and private Pete and the latter is only seen by a select few compared to the former.

I think this experience has possibly enabled him to be more of his authentic and private self publicly and not have to be someone people believe him to be.

You’re actually pretty spot on. I’ve known Pete for a number of years and he’s actually a really lovely guy. There’s still massive differences between private Pete and public Pete but we all have a different version of ourselves that nobody except friends and family gets to see.

Jowita seems happier than she has been in a long time, and I don’t think for one minute that’s because she is with Pete I think both Pete and Jowita think the world of each other in a platonic best friends kind of way. They have very different values and morals from what I can see I like Maura, but thought her and Pete together was always going to end up a car crash, far too similar in personality .
I don’t think he’s secretly gay either , just one very troubled man when it comes to romantic relationships I don’t feel too sorry for him either, he could seek therapy and take some responsibility for his actions, but he doesn’t.

Everyone has issues from their childhood but you can’t keep using it as an excuse to treat people like shit.He’s the type of guy who should stay single,he has a few female best friends who he seems to treat well but treats romantic partners terrible.I think as far as Jowita goes they seem to be very good mates and she’s very supportive of him so I hope it stays that way as he’s definitely not right for her I don’t think,they live completely different lives.

Just a recommendation to all my fellow Pete lovers, he's on the High Performance podcast this week, and it's a lovely open and heartfelt discussion.

Honestly I've been putting off ordering his book as it's my birthday soon and as someone difficult to buy for, I was holding off incase someone got me it.

But after listening today, ive ordered it for next day delivery and will be giving it a one sitting read over the weekend!

Honestly such a genuine bloke that I really do feel the press has absolutely slaughtered over the years (he's been no angel but they've certainly not helped).
