Oh that’s awful. I am so sorry. 😢 If men had to deal with a tenth of all the tit we women do, it’d all be taken much more seriously. Period pain would be a thing of the past, endometriosis would be cured and menopause would have one universal treatment that worked a charm for every person.
I completely agree.
I get no support, all of my issues are just an inconvenience to him. He used to be the opposite when I first knew him

I've added extra biotin to my other daily supplements, and my hair feels and looks the best it has in years with normal levels of hair loss

I am almost 42, pretty sure in peri. Went to GP as I am struggling with mood swings, hair thinning and loss and terrible terrible night sweats. He said I am far too young and suggested the pill or Prozac and to come back when I am 51. (I insisted on a referral and I am awaiting an appt).

I did start Prozac and cured night sweats completely, but had rendered me an insomniac. Anyway, I saw no dairy can help, any other suggestions to ease the sweating or hair loss? It’s properly affecting me.

Has anyone tried the Happy Mammoth range of pills? They are so very expensive and want to know if they are worth the money. Or if anyone knows of any cheaper alternatives? Thank you

You need and deserve help and support from someone. Whether that’s the NHS or a counsellor…

Tbh, it’s taken a proper breakdown just before Xmas to make my husband sit up and realise I’m not well… and he’s not a bad man, just can’t always see what’s going on under his nose. Shouldn’t have got to that stage but here we are.

The Menopause Matters website has a checklist which you can complete and take to your GP. Obviously you can add any other symptoms.
It's a great help when you see your GP as you can refer to it, keeps you focused and you don't forget any of your symptoms.
Initially, they should do a blood test to rule out diabetes and thyroid issues, as the symptoms can overlap, according to my GP.

I think I received a pack of these free with my collagen pack. I wasn't entirely sure what they were for. I'll start on those tomorrow. Pill number 16, lovely 🤣

I have. I was taking the hormone harmony. But I stopped cause I started HRT and want to see how I get on with them. The magnesium is good, it's a small capsule instead of the usual bulked up crap. They do some offers which are usually good

This period finally seems to have ended at day 14. I'm exhausted, cranky and looking forward to a nice hot bath tomorrow.

Is this Nutrition Geeks or another brand? Were you previously suffering hair loss and it’s now back to normal levels? I think my hair is thinner than it was.

Also, my eye lashes aren't as long or thick as they used to be, but eye lash serum sorts that out, although they revert back when I don’t keep it up.

I'm using these, which I have just noticed are half price at the moment at £7 for the 3 month supply. My hair brush was filling up quite quickly, and I was always picking hair off my clothes

And apparently I’m now allergic to Christmas trees. I’ve had really irritated skin around my neck, face and scalp. Got rid of the tree on NYE and the itching has now stopped.
I kind of thought it was connected but I wasn’t going to get rid of the tree even if it was just a little potted one in the dining room!

I’m so sick of developing new allergies and the guessing game that then follows.

Like the others have said definitely go back and see someone else
In my area we have a women’s health centre where we can be referred for all things menopause
The HRT has definitely helped with the excessive sweating im almost 47 but I’ve been dealing with symptoms for YEARS! Don’t suffer in silence like so many of us do .. you are entitled to a decent level of care from your gp.

What have you done to help with weight loss? I feel lucky in that I don’t have that many symptoms however I’ve put on a lot of weight! I did look at high cortisol and potentially did have this- maybe still? I was going through an extremely stressful time and once that stopped I automatically lost nearly 10kgs. I’m tired of looking pregnant. I’m constantly feeling tight and bloated. To be honest, it is worse than when I was pregnant! I’m walking everyday and trying hard to eat right.

A weird thing that contributed to my bloating was the capsules a lot of supplements come in. It appears I can’t digest them. Just a thought. I now only take tablets or tip them into the last bit of my coffee, which is sometimes gross and sometimes ok 😂

you could look at lymphatic drainage and there’s also a move you can do on your stomach that’s meant to help. One thing I am sure helped me was relaxing my stomach muscles and adjusting my posture and hip flexibility.
I read that you can get a problem where your diaphragm and stomach are doing the opposite of what they should when you eat. I’ll look and get back to you on what it actually said .

Giving up alcohol completely really helped all my symptoms. My belly had become pretty large and strangely hard, it was repulsive. It’s gone down loads.

I think giving up the late eating helps too. Up until recently I could eat what and when I liked. I try not to eat after 7 now and that helps too. Metabolism is NOT what it used to be 🤣 Also a walk after grub seems to be a common recommendation too.

I cut out carbs. September to April 2025 I'd put weight on, largely attributed to holidays in that time and Christmas. From April I cut out carbs and lost most of it.
