Got my first ever flood. Luckily I was metres from a loo and had a pantyliner so caught it in time. I just avoided destroying my light grey chair in an open plan office.

My periods had been heavy but regular (I've been tracking for a couple of years now) but in the last few months I've had a really late one, a really early one and a very long one (varying flow from very light to near nothing to moderate over 19 days). I feel like every day my hormones are effecting me in one way or another. My diet has gone to sh1t lately which absolutely isn't helping matters. I'm only 40 and not a regular GP attendee so the thought of starting the process of getting hormonal help is extremely daunting! I don't have time. I don't want to make the time 😅

So glad to find this thread, will be reading through for all the good advice. I'm 45 and was awake until 3am this morning after one large glass of wine 😭 so thinking I may now just have to cut out drinking all together. And also cut out or down on dairy to see if it helps my spotty skin. The joys!

Been bleeding heavily with extremely large clots for 7wks + , very low iron now on tablets for that but instead of constipation I've constantly got the runs, all I do is cry and I'm completely exhausted. They did a Biopsy on my uterus but no answers as yet as my gynaecology appointment was booked for same day/time as my daughters clinic. Fed up off moaning and feeling useless and can't bare my partner to even hug me as I feel like I smell putrid even with 2/3 showers a day.

You able to take tranexamic acid? You should be able to get it over the counter once you've spoken to a pharmacist. That might help to stop the bleeding for a while.

I had similar bleeding and it turns out I've got fibroids, so currently waiting for treatment.

I appear to have lost almost half a stone last week whilst on an all inclusive holiday (and I wasn’t exercising at all whereas day to day I usually do) despite eating and drinking a lot. Main difference I can think is I was eating all lovely fresh food and loads of fruit and veg not carbs. So my question is do I cut out carbs or UPF to make the biggest difference going forward?

Oh no, guess who got a prescription for tranexamic acid yesterday because she’s had a heavy period for 10-11 days

I would probably aim for both. Or maybe your carbs could be UPF?

We invested in a breadmaker and get organic flour delivered in bulk and while I could usually munch through a quarter of a loaf of sliced pan, all I needed was a single slice of fresh homemade rye with a couple of eggs for breakfast and i was stuffed.

Actually ive just realised we are about a year in on our UPF efforts. Id say we hit the 80% or more most days.

I've noticed that I haven't had a hot flush in at least 9 or 10 months or so, brain fog and fatigue has improved. I wonder if it's connected.

For those low in Iron, I swear by Floradix liquid iron and vitamin. I've always been near anemia but these days my iron levels are superb. I also take vit d +k2 oral spray.

Brittle nails, mine are horrendous at the moment. Any suggestions.
I forgot to take my 'provera' this morning and have started spotting again. Meh

I'm getting pains in my knee, ankle and shoulder.
I nearly put ice cubes in a mug, instead of a glass and orange juice on my daughter's cereal instead of milk.
My skin is so dry and itchy and sore.
Feel so depressed about it all and so old

I use an essential oil. Any will do, ensure it's mixed well with a base oil as essential oils can be too strong on skin on their own. You can also buy pre blended ones. I also use Nailtiques 2, it's very good but im not great at remembering every second day and I always start the dishes before I remember to put on gloves but the oil and Nailtiques do their best in spite of me!

Thank you will have a look at nailtiques too! I've got some essential oils knocking round, but no bases off to the shops tomorrow:)
