Has anyone here ever tried estriol for dryness, what do you think?
I have vaginal estriol for dryness. It has helped with dryness and irritation and symptoms. Although mine wasn't severe , I use it as prevention so I don't get worse as my hormones deplete.

I've put myself on it as it was getting unbearable for me with pain and dryness. A week in and it's amazing, literally feel like I did 15 years ago lol

I’m much the same as you all. Always had a generally flat stomach but I could pass for about 6months pregnant. Hair is falling out. Thin hair anyway so it’s really noticeable. Knee joints aching, can’t bend down without my bad aching, itchy skin, itchy everything. HRT has massively helped in terms of easing brain fog & anxiety though.

My stomach was so big a couple of months back and had missed two periods, I ended up doing three pregnancy tests. The horror and anxiety of an unplanned pregnancy heading for fifty really helped my bad sleep 🤣🤣🤣
Anyhow back to bleeding twice a month then after no period for nearly three months. Oh the bleeping joys 🤣

So my earlier post said about me upping it. I havent yet as am only in about 6 weeks i think without looking.

But I do keep bleeding off and on and its really annoying. I start my 2nd lot of pegesterone tonite, but I also missed a pump the other day, unsure whether that has done it.

But b4 hrt i was almost regular like clockwork once a month, but I am all over the place. Is this normal at this stage? How long should I put up with it as its playing havoc with my so called sex life hahah

I’m laughing because this was me a few months ago too. Had myself convinced I was an old pregnant lady! 🤣🤣

I've been on the mini pill for about a year hoping it would get rid of my periods. After a few months it seemed to settle and I got occasionally spotting. Now I'm having like a period.

How can I lose the peri weight without going down the ozempic route? I feel like my metabolism has ground to a halt.

Same here 😪 It feels like every time I weigh myself I've gained even more weight 😒 My diet hasn't changed, I'm definitely not eating more.

And after a lifetime of having a flat ass, suddenly I'm developing butt cheeks?

I’m the same - I’ve started eating more protein and doing weights 3/4 times a week. The scales are slowly going doing but my shape is getting more defined & toned, it’s a slow process and I’ve been tempted to go down the jags route but going to keep doing what I’m doing as the smaller changes are helping

What’s your weights routine and how did you get started?

Though I might post.
Im 49 and went to my GP about HRT but they think I don't need it.
My main reason is I have general aches and pains and my arthritis in knees has worsened. I though HRT could protect your joints but they said that's not the case.
Due to heavy, painful periods I've been on the pill all my life. I developed migraines with aura in my 40s and was moved onto the mini pill, which I'm still taking, and am fine with that.
I havent had proper periods for years but these year I have a slight one every 2 or 3 months.
I'm an anxious person by nature. I do feel lacking energy wise. Finally I have swelling around a small part of my gum (dentist said it is overbrushing).
GP said as I still have periods and have no hot flushes, I don't need HRT. But I just don't know: at 49 surely my hormones have shifted? I read online that HRT can assist joints and mouth issues.
I just don't know. Surely taking something at a low dose to see if it makes a difference woukd be beneficial? If so, what? If I truly don't need it, would taking it harm in anyway?
I am someone who just keeps going and I do wonder if I could feel better, but I feel like I'm in the dark here.
I cant afford to pay for a private clinic. Thank you.

hrt may or may not fix or help with some of the issues but it’s not the gp make a blanket decision without you being involved. there is no reason unless you have medical issues that would make hrt not a viable option in my opinion that you can’t trial hrt and see if it helps the symptoms you are having. Then decide if it’s something worth keeping on with it.

rebook and see someone else! Look up symptoms on an official website and note every symptom you have that could connect to peri. There are a lot of symptoms besides hot flushes although there can be other reasons too but it will be helpful for you to look up and understand the symptoms so you can see if they maybe connect

Look up the nhs guidelines so you have a way to advocate for yourself if they just dismiss you.

they may want you to do 2 separate blood tests which may or may not show the results you need (they did with me luckily because a was mid 30’s and was definitely being dismissed)
but really the consensus seems to be that if you are at the right age and are having symptoms then hrt is warranted At least for a trial.

basically you may need to fight a bit but don’t allow them to just dismiss you!

I’m the opposite I haven’t had a bleed at all and I started my hrt in April 😬 I have a check up next month as I’ve never seen anyone in person about my hrt. But I know that a few days after stopping my progesterone I always feel awful. Fuzzy head and wobbly.

I started using slim fast in the middle of June and I’ve lost 2.5 stone. I started surgical menopause in March but I don’t actually seem to have many menopause symptoms so not sure if I’m just getting lucky or it’s just taking it’s time to show any affects.

I desperately needed to lose weight before my surgery but my head just couldn’t get into it.

I've been weight training for the past 6/7 months, and whilst my waist isn't "snatched" like the 20-something influencers, I'm the strongest I've ever been, I'm 44 now and yesterday I did 3 reps of 10 push ups. I couldn't even do 1 push up back when I started in April. My shape has changed and while I'm trying not to fret over it, it's pretty obvious that my body type and genetics are of the Scandinavian Viking woman type, not the willowy actress type. I'm learning to lean into it at last.

TL;DR - if you need wood chopping or boxes shifting I'm yer gal
