I am absolutely plagued with palpitations at the moment. All day every day. Period still firmly AWOL (at 44 I think I’m too young for full menopause). Guess I need to see my GP, don’t I? 🙄
Definitely speak to your GP and get them to run some blood tests- palpitations could be linked to low iron level for example.

I got the palpitations later in peri and read it’s to do with the fluctuating hormones.

You’re not too young for peri and this is a peri menopause symptom. Mine was worse at night or in the morning or even after eating.

You are not too young for full menopause at 44, while it’s more unusual it does happen. But yeah you need to get checked out and bloods etc to rule out other things too.

I know someone who was over a year without a period at 40 and her doctor refused to acknowledge she was in menopause even though no other issues/tests done and fine. She’s now 44 never had another period and was menopausal.

I've taken 340mg of Magnesium for over two years now. Started with a combo of Malate and Glycinate (stopped the Glycinate as I think I felt a bit weird on it and was getting some strange vivid dreams) so swapped to Citrate.

What exactly is it meant to be doing for me? I don't know if I'm taking the wrong type, not enough, too much... I'm just not certain if it something I'm spending money but not getting anything in return 🤷🏻‍♀️

Has anyone had a very long period bleed as part of perimenopausal symptoms. I'm 46, been having heavy periods for a few years now. Last few months cycle been going slightly wonky. This period I did 4 days of tranexamic acid as prescribed. Then when stopped heavy bleeding arrived, I had ordered provera for holidays to try and delay it. GP bless them prescribed me more to try and stop bleeding (which was horrendous) after 14 days. I stopped for 3 days and then it's back. So by the time I get to the GP this week it will have been 48 days with only 3 days with no bleeding unless I stop now. I've had no pain or anything until the last 2 days when it's literally been like period cramps and back pain.
I'm at least grateful for what seems to be an understanding GP and he's had to listen to all my ins and outs literally the last few weeks. I've never experienced this before.

On a side note, temperature regulation is shot and the brain fog is very real! Also very itchy skin

I know this isn't a usual thing to ask, but have you also ruled out pregnancy and STD in conjuction? This isn't to say it's not peri, but also a good thing to check when it comes to bleeding so long x

They might send you for a scan to measure your womb lining.

I agree with pp, it might not be a normal period. Fibroids are a possibility.

I'm definitely not pregnant. Husband had made sure of that. I'm expecting to be sent for tests, and I'm pleased if that's the case as it means the GP is taking it serious. Tbf to them they were like let's you get through your holiday and then let's see where things are

Depo provera the contraceptive injection? Progesterone only contraception pills gave me a three month long period (this is when I stopped) and nine months of light bleeding with mirena. Sorry if this isn’t what you mean.

I had the tablets sorry not the jab to try and delay. The GP is willing to prescribe a hormone contraceptive to help. The tranexamic acid was the first option. I'll know more on Tuesday 🤞

2 of my friends had this. Both had fibroids. I hope it’s sorted soon.

The menopause doc told me I could up my HRT in jan but due to a few things I didn’t but have upped it today after waking up with my tongue stuck to the top of my very dry mouth, my eyes being crunchy cos they are so dry and the RAGE I am feeling I think I need it. Also set up at a craft fair on Saturday whilst having a huge hot flush and sweat dripping down me - took so long to cool down again

So, further on to my post I previously put on here about having a phone call appointment with a Dr, despite other medical professionals recommending blood tests...... I now have to book a blood test 🙃. Nothing to help any of my symptoms in the mean time 🫠. I'm uncomfortable in so many ways. I have no idea if she wants the blood test to be done when I'm bleeding or what exactly. So thatwas a useful peri appointment.

Ring the surgery and ask them to speak to the Dr to clarify.

I will do, well do the whole email booking thing to ask a question. It seems if you're under 40 you can't be peri. 🙃🫠. Just had a look at the days for blood test and the earliest is 5weeks away!!!

Apologies if this is TMI.

I follow a pharmacist on insta who is really fab imo. My piles are getting out of control. They are stopping me doing the things I love and atm I am curled up after waddling home from a run. She said that decreasing oestrogen can thin linings (various ones) which a) can makes things itchy- ears, eyes etc. and b) exacerbate things like piles.

It hasn’t helped by my eating being tit for years and causing this but I’m so over this.

That sounds completely and utterly miserable @Zelda buttons (don’t know why I can’t tag you). Have you been referred to a specialist? I know there are surgical options available when piles get really severe.
