Yes! I want to literally scrub my skin and all over with a scouring pad it's that horrendous. Have you tried alternating shampoos aswell? Cool air from a hairdryer sometimes works to help alleviate it, otherwise it's antihistamines constantly to try and help
Yeah, I alternate shampoos already and don't use conditioner - but great shout on the hairdryer and antihistimes, I'll add them to the list thank you!

It's so difficult trying to navigate it all. It doesnt help when trying to find info and support seems to be non existent.

Funnily enough my scalp has been itching like a mofo for a few weeks. It's been driving me mad. And I'm safely into menopause for a while now.
I've just started using original Vosene (I didn't know they still made it tbh) which said it stops itching from first use. Still got the original lovely coal tar type smell 😂 (which I love). But so far so good and no itching 🤞
I also only use warm water not hot as that seemed to make it worse.

Urgh, just had to get up and change my pyjamas because you could literally wring them out, I've sweat that much tonight. Plus, I can't sleep, which normally wouldn't bother me so much but I have to be up at 5:45am tomorrow as I'm having surgery. 🙄

Itchy skin is a thing right? But what about itchy scalps specifically? Normally I can go 2-3 days without a wash (I have fine hair, so I don't like to wash it every day) and it's not at all greasy, but it's SO bleeping itchy. The first day is usually fine and by the start of the second it's just itchy all over.
yep I think so!

I have gone from ok skin then diagnosed with early menopause and bang to chronic nothing works to fix it skin issues 😩

itchy flaky dry irritated and reddening on

scalp face inside ears

worse though is the skin issues on my vulva which even has the genital dermatologist stumped and iv had to get a skin biopsy done. Stitches out tomorrow woohoo! It’s making me miserable

plus in the last 6 months a rapi spreading red itchy patch under and between my boobs where the bra sits that is driving me nuts

tried a myriad of meds and creams and washes and emollients and nothing has worked even a little.

That sounds like it could be yeast related on the boob area, scalp and ears. Wash all your clothes and bedding hot and use vinegar in the softener section and try anti fungal cream somewhere as a test and see if it helps maybe unless you already did. I feel for you, skin stuff is hard to get help with

Thank you @Joanie . Trying to sort a Dr's appointment has been a nightmare. The urogynae nurses and women's pelvic floor physio have both suggested and recommended blood tests, HRT and vaginal oestrogen. Turns out my Dr's don't have a specific menopause nurse/clinic or doctor who is interested in it 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. After the hassle of requesting an appointment to go through it all and only being able to do so online, as you can no longer ring up, I've been told to have a telephone call. So despite other professionals recommending blood tests and things etc because of my age that doesn't seem to be happening, unless that can be done over the phone 🙃🙄. (Trying to get a female Dr was difficult enough). Has anyone gone private and what sorts of costs, or involvements did you have?
Sorry you have to go through all this . My GP service has a menopause nurse and she is amazing. I've been on HRT patches for over four years. Started getting awful new symptoms last September. Told my HRT nurse my new symptoms and was prescribed virginal oestrogen. It started working within a week and I've not had a UTI since.

Is there a GP practice that does have this service that you could move to?

I went to the docs yesterday with a sore painful nose and yep you guessed it - hormones 🙄🙄

got home and googled dry nose and first search is ‘dry nose menopause’

we are truly blessed. Totally shows that men have the psychical strength cos the way we all feel we should be the ones committing the most violence

With your vulva skin issues, is that itchiness too?
The reason I ask is because I had terrible itchiness and discovered it was mainly down to the toilet paper I was using.

At the time I was using Kirkland brand from Costco.
My friend told me her problems stopped when she changed brands.
So I stopped using it and my itchiness stopped too.
A rogue roll was left with my Cushelle and I unknowingly used it. Within hours I was itchy again.
I’m unsure what’s in it that causes it or if it’s in other brands too but l will never buy it again.

I’m sure you’ve already eliminated it as a cause but just in case I thought I’d mention it,

@griftalo and @50sGirl

yes terrible skin itching with shape and texture changes down there. I look a real mess down there at the moment 😡😳

sorry too much!

thanks so much for the advice.
unfortunately iv looked at both things as cause (although toilet roll is different brands anyway and always non fragranced) to no avail unfortunately. It I’ll look into both again as you never know!

Strange question have you looked into lichen sclerosus? I also only use toddler toilet training wipes now rather than toilet roll. Not the Andrex one, but specifically toddlers, they're all on the fine to flush waterways.

With the itchy rash, is it scaly, or just when you wear a bra? X

Sadly not 🤦🏼‍♀️. It honestly makes me laugh that there doesn't appear to be anyone who specialises in it near me, which makes no sense. The 2 closest hospitals that have menopause clinics are a fair distance too. Has anyone been able to get a referral to an out of area hospital that has a menopause clinic attached? It's making my life a misery atm, and seems to be affecting prolapses further. Although that is a whole other convo. Although has anyone found peri to affect there's?

Hello everyone

Not posted in this thread before, so sorry if I’m repeating all that’s been said before 🥴

I’ll be 42 in November and I seriously think I’m suffering from perimenopus.
I now have the worst fatigue and it feels all the time. I can have a full night sleep and wake up with the shakes and feel exhausted, or I could sleep for 3-4 hours and feel the same. I have slumps in the afternoons and early evening where I could fall asleep standing up. My brain fog is worsening. I can walk in a room and forget why I’m there, go to do something and in a split second forget what I needed to do, forget what I’m wanting to say mid conversation, My latest one is I can’t remember / could tell anyone my current mobile number, but the one I had 15 years ago no problem! I feel like I have dementia.
I have palpitations, body aches, headaches, rage, short tempered, no energy, I now can’t drive on busy roads/ motorways as I’m too nervous, lost interest in alot of things , joint pains….

I had blood tests 2 years ago when I went to my GP, but everything come back normal and I never was given a return appointment to discuss further.

I feel the fatigue and brain fog are the main things that have worsened since then, but feel like it’s going to be battle to have a GP even listen to me 😔

I feel like I’m falling apart

Go back to the GP. They don’t rely on blood tests they go by symptoms. How are your periods?

When I first started peri, I had bad fatigue.

Also, get your Vitamin D checked as being low in it causes some of your symptoms.

Im on the pill (desogestrel) so I don’t have periods.
Yes I would like my Vitamin D checked again, i believe that was in with all the blood tests I had last time and come back normal. I also take high strength Vitamin D tablets.

I will go back to the GP, last time being 39 I don’t feel I was listened to much

Hey guys, just wanted to check in. A few complications but surgery went ok and I just got home so at least I didn’t have to stay in hospital overnight and sweat up their sheets 😅
