So I found out today, following my heavy post-menopause bleeding investigations, that I have pre-cancerous cells in my uterus. I'm too at-risk for a hysterectomy due to other medical reasons, so they've implanted a coil, are going to do a CT scan in January and biopsies every 3 months.

I have to say I am just completely freaking out. Has anyone had similar?
Please try and not worry about this. Pre cancerous means if it’s left without treatment for a long time , it could possibly develop into cancerous cells. Saying that, it still doesn’t mean you’ll get cancer. Great thing is they’ve flagged it and you’re on their system to be treated now. You will probably have to have a more detailed exam of your cervix - a colposcopy and they might worse case scenario have cells lazered off - can’t remember what the term is. But it’s a very very common thing for women. Smear results
range from CIN 1 (very mild) to CIN3. I would highly doubt this would require a hysterectomy.
Please do one thing. Stop panicking. It’s pre cancerous cells and the good news is that they haven’t said it’s developed into cancer. Loads
of women, myself included have had abnormal pre cancerous cells.
Get your GP or hospital to talk to you and try ease your worries.

I had this years ago. I was monitored very closely like you. It all came to nothing. The ‘cells’ never developed into anything and I just get a normal smear every 3 years now. Please try not to worry. Hope this helps in some way x

Plus I ended up having a coil as my periods were so extremely heavy. This was the best thing I ever did!

Can anyone help me with a symptom? I'm on my first month of HRT (micronised progesterone and gel estradiol 750mcg, one pump a day) I've been having really sore breasts continuously, rather than just in the lead up to my period. I've also started on the POP this month just to confuse things. Am I right that sore boobs can be a 'too much estrogen' thing? I had a check in with the nurse last week but stupidly forgot to mention it as I was in a shop when she called and I was distracted. Any ideas? It's rather annoying and waking me up whenever I move in my sleep, and I'd rather not sleep in a bra

Yes, sore boobs (especially front of nipple area) is usually a sign of high estrogen. I’m on HRT and get this before I bleed for 10 days or so. I used to suffer when I was younger too at this time, but it had eased off before I went on HRT, I’m assuming because my estrogen levels had dropped a fair bit.

It sounds extreme if it’s waking you up though. Not sure if you can reduce estrogen dose as you mention you’re only on one pump a day. Might be worth giving it a few months if you can in case it settles down and then speak to the doctor if it doesn’t.

Came across this thread and thought I would ask a question if anyone would be willing to help.
I'm nearly 36, not quite sure if this is a peri menopause symptom but stopped birth control around 6 months ago and noticed every month around what I am guessing is ovulation an almost unbearable sensation of heaviness to the point where it is painful to stand. It's in my lower abdomen. It feels like there is a kettle bell attached to my womb, I have painful bloating and can barely eat. Periods have also become irregular, my cycle could be anything from 28-36 days? Should I contact my GP or am I being dramatic?
I've definitely finished with having babies, don't really want to be on birth control though.

I'm 58 and have been on HRT for about four months.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed bleeding, old and new blood, is this normal after going on HRT?

Thanks

Go to your Dr. Could be Endo that was ‘masked’ by the pill

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone has anything similar or can offer advice. I'm 40 pretty sure I've been in peri for about 12 months now but nothing too dramatic mainly shorter periods and low mood, enough to make me notice there is a difference but not enough that I feel I need to do anything about it yet. However, two out of my last three periods have been quite odd, painful more than usual and very light as in nothing much on the pad but when I wee there is loads that comes out and there when I wipe and its quite dark and glossy looking if that makes sense. My mum and grandmother had early hysterectomies at 41 and 39 so I don't really have any gauge as to when or what pattern I might follow. Just a bit anxious now as feels like its all being stored up inside until I go to the toilet.

Sounds like your bladder may be preventing it coming out and then it’s partially clotting- which would be more painful coming out in my experience anyway

Hello ladies I’m after some guidance please…. I turned 36 in august, no kids. I just finished what I thought was my second period three weeks apart instead of four but I’ve looked at the dates and it might be my third or fourth period with only 21ish days between them.
I’ve had no sex drive for about 5 months but I’ve put that down to stress. Now with my periods becoming close together I’m wondering if this is the start of perimenopause ☹
I think I’ve noticed my skin has become dryer and I’ve also been really down for the past 5/6 months but I put that down to stress too.

I’m on the copper coil so there’s no hormones from contraceptives anywhere.
Could this be the start of the perimenopause for me? ☹

Another month, another flooding incident. This time mid run and mortifyingly I had ages to run back with the evidence. I just know someone I know will have seen me. My breasts are still sore even though I have my period. I’m off to try new bras tomorrow and then get them on Vinted. I can alter by 2 cup sizes and I’m not in the mood to spend ££££.

Too much going on to see the dr. I just want to pretend none of this is happening tbh.

Just checked my calendar and as of 1st Jan 2025 it’ll be 7 months since my last period. It will be the longest I’ve ever gone, I think it was 5 months previously. I only had 2 periods last year - one was more of a “”show” than a period. The previous 2 years I had 5 per year so they‘re definitely less frequent.
I’m hoping I won’t have another and I have my menopause day in 2025. 🤞
I have had dreadful headaches and migraines over the past couple of weeks - only 3 clear head days in 2 weeks. I hope they will stop too.

I’ve also only had 2 periods this year and haven’t had one since July, so hoping I’m heading towards menopause seeing as I’m 56! 🤞

My boobs have always been big but in Peri they are getting even bigger it makes me feel miserable; that’s a good idea about getting bras from vinted

Urgh I’ve had 2 periods this month, I’m 40.
I’m 42 and started to get breakthrough bleeding about 2 weeks after my period but thankfully is light and only lasts a couple of days but my periods are so heavy but again only last around 5 days. Praying it doesn’t get worse any time soon.

Has anyone read and had success with Pippa Campbell Eat Right, Balance Hormones book or is it all just a fluke?
