lots, hot flushes, overly emotional, sickness, anxiety so they put me on setraline and doc said it was because of a hormone imbalance but that was 2017. Bloating, gained over 2 stone and can’t shift it all round my middle.Have you other symptoms?

I would ask for a 3 month trial on HRT to see if they help the symptoms.lots, hot flushes, overly emotional, sickness, anxiety so they put me on setraline and doc said it was because of a hormone imbalance but that was 2017. Bloating, gained over 2 stone and can’t shift it all round my middle.
Yes but you get those when you’re coming off anti depressants aswell? I hate them, brain zaps I call them.Haven't read all of the thread yet but one thing that distressed me a bit was the 'twang' in the head, a bit like an electric shock. It happened sporadically and started happening a few years before the actual menopause. I didn't tell the doctor so don't know for sure if this was linked to peri-menopause or not, but it would be interesting to know if anyone else experienced this 'twang'?
Have you noticed that when there is an article about a woman leaving her family and bleeping off with a young waiter, the women are usually a certain age. Shirley Valentine was a menopausal womanYes but you get those when you’re coming off anti depressants aswell? I hate them, brain zaps I call them.

I’m really struggling again, I’m waiting for blood test results because I felt so bad. I’m going to play my doctor up until I get some answers.
I get depressed so badly I think the mirena coil is causing it as it doesn’t suit everyone.
my oestrogel HRT was making me feel like I was losing my mind, with racing thoughts, although it made me feel a bit better at first.
my weight won’t shift no matter what I do.
Your GP is a bleep and is not abiding by the NICE guidelines, forward them to him/her and ask why they haven't bothered to read about something that is going to affect 50% of their patients at some point in their lives, misogyny clear and simple.lots, hot flushes, overly emotional, sickness, anxiety so they put me on setraline and doc said it was because of a hormone imbalance but that was 2017. I’m now on metformin because my sugar levels are creeping up.
one day I’m full of energy, the next I could stay in bed all day.
I’m so irritable
I can understand why women leave home, get divorced or take their own lives when the menopause hits. It’s tit.

Yes! I’ve been taking the ‘Perimenopause mind+’ ones for a few weeks and I do feel better for it. My hair is better as is my skin and I actually feel calmer - I was going from calm to FUMING in seconds for a while and that has rarely happened since I started on the supplementsHas anyone tried the Health and Her supplements? I've ordered the multi-nutriants so interested to see if they'll make any difference. My symptoms come and go so I don't feel bad enough to go to the docs yet but could do with a little something.
I toss and turn until about 3am and then sleep soundly. If you left me I’d sleep until lunchtime then.7am and sitting here crying because the tiredness! Am barely getting four hours broken sleep a night, I could go to bed at lunchtime, and spend the rest of the day hating everyone who looks at me. I can’t stand any kind of noise, barely even watch the tv because I just need quiet.
(Have lots of other symptoms too but this is killing me at the moment.)
I might look into those then. You can just switch in seconds like you say can’t you? My poor hubby, I’m trying not to be crabby but what with a teenager in the house, they both get on every last nerve I have.Yes! Boots had a BOGOF on vitamins a couple of weeks ago and this was included.
I read something recently that said the menopause is basically puberty in reverse which makes senseI toss and turn until about 3am and then sleep soundly. If you left me I’d sleep until lunchtime then.
I wonder if there’s a correlation between puberty and the menopause. I struggled with puberty and have been depressed since then, so it’s no surprise I’m struggling through the menopause.
I felt the same. I love my job and found myself wanting to call in faking sickness where i dreaded the thought of it. I don't even call in sick when I'm actually sick, so knew something was up.@Bellatrix Lestrange and this one. I had the same issues with work, owned a business, thought the business was the problem so sold it, got a job on the railway, hated it, quit then discovered I was going through menopause and found out that it was almost certainly that that was causing my depression. My general advice is that if you suddenly hate your job around your mid 40's/early 50's when you have been perfectly happy before then it is almost certainly your hormones and not the job.
Thank you @Notworthy this is great! Didn't occur to me to look in Off Topic, being relatively new to Tattle.@Bellatrix Lestrange and this one. My migraines went from once every few months to weekly last year for no obvious reason but i do think they are now hormonal and I’m possibly starting peri but at 42 by GP said there was no chance it was that and dismissed all symptoms. It’s very frustrating to be ignored and left to get on with things. I do find this thread and support pages on Facebook to be a great comfort and often other people sharing their experiences gives me hints and tips to try. After various preventatives all of which made me feel awful I’m focussing on supplements recommend on the migraine trust website and also had my iron levels checked and they were low. It seems we are best doing our own research as GPs are either not interested or lack any knowledge. I hope you find something to help soon xHas anyone struggled with migraines when they're perimenopausal? Just had the 3rd migraine in 18 months never had them before. My head aches and then I'm violently sick and I can't move just need to lay down. My GP has told me at 44 I am too young (!!) but they will do another blood test but I cannot continue with these and the other symptoms, nighttime anxiety, insomnia which leads to hallucinations, general disinterest, no libido, acne on jaw line and awful periods and PMS to name a few. I'm literally at my wits end

Yes it’s entirely normal. I sometimes miss a period but then get them monthly again. I never used to suffer badly with period pain but I do now and I never used to be very heavy but I am now. At the moment I’m missing one again but I’d rather have one as I just end up very bloated and get a low mood. What are people’s periods like? I went on holiday in July. I was due to come on halfway through my holiday. I didn’t though and although it was lush I worried a bit. I usually know when I’m pregnant even before a missed period because I get sickness literally from the second of implantation. I was worried but kind of knew I wasn’t pregnant. The next period after that was like the end of a period, a bit brown and mucky. Since those my periods have been their usual cripplingly heavy horrific ones. I spoke with my doctor and she took swabs which were fine, said I’m at the premenopausal age 42 and put me on the mini pill. I think it was Cerezette. Any way I bled for 5 weeks on that so had to stop taking it My periods then went back to being horrifically heavy and what constitutes as ‘normal’ for me. This last period I’ve just had was probably the best period I’ve ever had in all of my 30 years of periods. Light, no dripping and no flooding tampons and towels. I’m just wondering if this is normal for perimenopause.
