A friend has recommended the Balance app. She said it’s a lifesaver so I’ve downloaded it
just downloaded it and I’ve ticked most boxes. Also booked a blood test , I’m at the end of the 5 yr for this coil . Has anyone on here had the Mirena fitted as a form of HRT ?

Has anyone experience much shorter cycles? I’m in the process of trying to get a peri menopausal diagnosis but I have gone from a 28 day cycle and bleeding that lasts 6 days to a 23/24 day cycle and 1-2 days bleeding
Yes, every 2 weeks and now this one came 3.5 weeks later and it the worst one yet.

Yep! I had my scan last Friday and received a text message…………yes, a text from my doctor a few days ago telling me that I have a 3cm fibroid and a polyp I’ve actually been signed off of work because my anxiety is so bad about it.
Oh @MrsM79 I'm so thankful you've replied, I wasn't going to post but I felt so alone as I don't want to worry any of my family or friends.

So your symptoms sound similar to mine?

-Prolonged bleeding (Sometimes light flow other times very very VERY heavy)
-Anxiety and irritability
-Sleep problems
-Brain fog
-Fatigue/no motivation
-Everything's aching

There's a few other bits and bobs but I'm more concerned about this bloody anxiety and fatigue. I feel nothing like myself.

So what's been your treatment? What's the plan with you? How are you? 😘😘

Any recommendations for a product that helps dry itchy scalp that I've never had before? Curly hair if that's pertinent to anyone. Thanks.

I need some help. It feels like I’m losing my mind. I keep crying and I’m terribly low. HRT seems to make things worse. Is this how someone else feels and does it end.
Did you see a menopause specialist or just your GP. You need an adjustment on your HRT. It can take some time to get the right balance

So after having hormonal migraines pretty much monthly since 2017 (age 43) they decided to start coming fortnightly. Doc put me on Amitriptyline which seems to be helping. Only side effect of it is dreams EVERY night, though I can live with those if migraines eased.

Any of you suffering with extreme insomnia? I literally cannot sleep no matter how tired I am. It's really affecting how I am at work now so need to do something. Don't really want anything on prescription but would try something natural?

Mine have gone significantly lighter over the last few months, however often every 21 days rather than the usual 28. I’m not complaining as previously they were extremely heavy from late 30s till 45.
Mine have got closer together too, they are usually just over 3- 3 1/2 weeks.

My periods are generally a medium flow, but back in January it was so light it might well not have bothered. That seemed to be the start of my periods becoming affected by Peri. February was OK, but then this month was 20 days late.

So, I class Jan as the 'official' beginning of Peri for me.
Mine are usually much heavier, this is totally different, like the bleed I used to get in my pill free week . Although I bleed between periods, so maybe there is nothing left.

The longest cycle I've had has been 32 days , that seemed to be a one off.

So this is really interesting. I've had 2 blood tests and last time I said this to the GP and she said I was wrong! They're now testing me for fibroids eventhough my symptoms are just heavy periods and they just will not accept that my symptoms are peri despite being almost text book. Her reasoning is my periods are still regular eventhough they have changed 😤

They argue I'm too young despite all the evidence and data online (I'm 44)
There's been a few articles on the BBC website about early menopause (although 44 isn't particularly early for peri)

I'm 45 in a few months, can you be perimenopausal at 44? Periods regular as clockwork
You can defo be peri at 44, it's not even really early as the "normal" range is from 45. Lots of people are peri for 10+ years and there are usually many signs before periods change. Worth getting bloods done though to rule out deficiencies in things like B12, iron etc though.

I thought I'd do an e-consult about my bleeding between periods in case it's not due to peri and is something that requires treatment. Anyway there's no availability for e - consult requests today. I thought the point of e- consults were to avoid that .
Me to! I’ve booked appt but not for two weeks

Is suddenly starting to snore a peri thing? I'm 44 and it's been happening for several months now and I feel I may be peri (though need to see a Dr for confirmation) as I have many symptoms. Just wondered if anyone else had this?

Yes definitely. I've just gone 4 months without a period and kept getting period pain and thinking I was getting one. A lot of my pain was low down at the bottom of my stomach in the middle.
I feel absolutely dreadful at the moment and my app is telling me I'm due on, my last bleed was November.

I’m 41 too and I think I am. Not gaining weight but cannot shift it for shit, and I’m the same with being hot. Keep waking up at night hot, and although I’ve always been a sweaty person I’m so much more sweaty now! I’m on the mini pill and don’t have periods on that so no idea about that side of things and am loathe to stop taking it.
I was on the mini pill as well and i just thought I would see, had one very light period but that may have just been from stopping as it was pain free (not like that for me) I will see what happens over the next few mths.....................
