Thank you.
I confess I don't think I've been much fun to live with this last couple of days. I'm not an anxious person normally, very much a 'don't stress what you cant change' type, but this has really played on my mind.
I'll be glad when tomorrow is over.
Good luck lovey 💗

I’m home.
Essentially I had a grouping of calcification. To see it instantly put my mind at rest as I think I was half expecting to see a huge lump or something but this was so so small she had to zoom in half a dozen times. It's so incredibly tiny if it is anything sinister it's not going to be much of a problem, so that's a relief.

I’ve had a biopsy which wasn't pleasant, but not as bad as I'd thought, they've put a metal marker in for future mammograms. Other half took my for lunch and I'm on the sofa slobbing now as the aesthetic is wearing off and I'm rather sore. I'm absolutely using this 24 hours of take it easy to let him wait on me haha

Biopsy results in 2/3 weeks but I've been told the chances of it being cancerous cells are incredibly slim. Not fully in the clear, but I do feel a hell of a lot better about things.

Thank you all for your support this last few days 🌹

So glad you feel better about things and I’m sure your biopsy results will be fine. Enjoy being waited on 👌

Can i ask a question see if any of you have any advice. So im 38, i have always had fairly easy periods, not too heavy not too sore lasting 5 or 6 days. i am not on any birth control and have not been for about 2 years. In the last year my periods have gotten heavier and shorter but more painful. soaking through pads especially on day 2. That has never happened me before, the last few were also much more painful. i woke one night during my last one with very bad pain and heavy bleeding but only for 30/60 mins. Could this be the beginning of peri menopause?
Hi, yes it probably is, I was your age when my periods started getting very heavy and as you say soaking through pads and even through my jeans, which I remember being very unexpected. I'm now 51 and haven't had a period for 18 months, so that roughly was about 10 years just over of perimenopause, which is about right I think.

Go to your GP. One word of warning though, the FSH test can only tell you if you are in peri, it cannot tell you you're not so if your GP runs that test and it comes back negative it doesn't necessarily mean anything because by its very nature peri is a time of fluctuating hormones irrespective of age.

So this is really interesting. I've had 2 blood tests and last time I said this to the GP and she said I was wrong! They're now testing me for fibroids eventhough my symptoms are just heavy periods and they just will not accept that my symptoms are peri despite being almost text book. Her reasoning is my periods are still regular eventhough they have changed 😤

They argue I'm too young despite all the evidence and data online (I'm 44)

There's been a few articles on the BBC website about early menopause (although 44 isn't particularly early for peri)

So happy to find this thread I'm nearly 42 had a full hysterectomy 6 months ago due to adverse side effects of the Vaccine. Brain Fog, Anxiety, Dry Vag, tears and tantrums don't know what's going on 🙈waiting on blood tests to tell me I'm not crazy.

I said its not young to the GP but she said 45 is in the guideline! So I said shall I come back in 9 months when my body realises your guidelines say that it's OK to go into perimenopause. She wasn't impressed 🤣

Your GP is reinforcing my Sons observation that all the Kids in his year that got places in Medicine were the ones that never participated in classroom discussion, just had an ability to learn and regurgitate for an exam, ie no critical thinking skills. The FSH should not be used in Women over 45 because it is not reliable in diagnosing peri menopause due to the fluctuations in hormones but the same holds true for Women in peri at 40. This is why GPs fail to diagnose early menopause, because they don't think, they just perform tests, it's a computer says no mentality

Does anyone else feel really hot for hours or days at a time? Not the sudden flushes, just feeling constantly hot?

I’m absolutely bleeping boiling sometimes. My glasses steam up and I swear I’m going to start setting off sparks.

Any tips for managing night sweats? Started earlier this year, keep disturbing my sleep.
mid you can afford it, absolutely invest in an air con unit. About £250 for a basic one (make sure it vents out of the window and isn’t water cooled). It’s noisy but switching it on with the remote for an hour in the night is a life saver for me sometimes.

Pure cotton sheets and nightwear is also really good. Ive heard good things about bamboo too but not tried it.

Can you take birth control to stop heavy periods before menopause?
I had the coil fitted because my periods got more frequent and heavy last year. My doctor would not give me the combined pill as l am over 40 and the depot injections are not suitable due to bone thinning potential. Also l had an implant a few years ago and bled constantly on it so had it removed after a year. Mirena is progesterone only. After quite a few months of light spotting my periods have stopped so it's one less thing to worry about.
