Thanks. I’m an ex medical professional although for children and babies but you would think I would be a bit more proactive in researching.
Apologies for all the typos in my first post.
Also should say my daughter is 17 not 27 ☺

I’ve gone from missing my period last month to bleeding for 2 weeks this month. It’s driving me mad now. I’ve got really bad health anxiety anyway but constantly worry something more serious is wrong with me.

We can drive ourselves crazy with thoughts like this, but it's normal, I bleed so much last month that it soaked through my underwear, menstrual pad! If you seriously think its not, please visit a doctor.

I'm in my early 30s and I'm sure I'm at the start of peri menopause. Periods are coming closer together and lighter (I've always had very heavy and irregular periods). Not got any other signs though so maybe I'm being paranoid.

I had a period that lasted 3 weeks.
I lost so much blood, I nearly passed out in the shower one morning.
Went to a gynecologist and had the Mirena coil fitted. Haven't had a period since. That was 3 years ago. Bliss!

Hello all, I am taking lenzetto spray and utrogestan pill every 15-26 days, however I've not had a period after this. Was I supposed too? If so, I haven't. When am I supposed to take the utrogestan again?

I hate perimenopause 😖

You might not get a bleed but regardless of that you start day 1 after day 28.

Had the mammogram I posted about two weeks ago.
Received a letter today for a hospital appointment on Wednesday for more checks. Logically, it's nothing. Statistically you're more likely to be called back from your first and something like 1 in 20 is something to worry about, but I'm worried and not concentrating on much atm.

I go away a week tomorrow to Disney Paris with my adult daughter and am now worrying that might not happen. Not said anything to the kids though, pointless at this point. Probably nothing, still worried. 😳

The trouble with your first mammogram is they have nothing to compare it to. It will hopefully be nothing too bad but I wonder if they will advise you to come off HRT? Can understand you being worried but they do call back quite a few when it’s the first mammogram and it isn’t always anything serious.

I think I'd rather pay for yearly private mammograms than come off the HRT to be honest so hopefully that wont be asked of me. I spoke to a close friend earlier who had a double mastectomy 27 years ago, she carries the gene too. She's wonderfully reassuring bless her and has talked me through a lot of things and told me to chill a bit it's probably nowt.

But you're right, and it's comforting, there is nothing to compare to.

I got called back after my second mammogram. After another mammogram and a scan it was confirmed as a cyst by the consultant, it’s apparently very common when you’re on HRT. Although it’s worrying it was dealt with in a matter of days and such a relief to get the results immediately

I’ve got a dim and distant memory of taking my mum to the breast unit after a mammogram when I sit and think about it. Hers was a cyst as well I think, she’s sadly not around to ask anymore.

Ive gone through every emotion today and have settled on ‘can’t change anything’ and ‘it’s more likely it’s absolutely nothing’.
Thank you for your reassurance. You’re all helping me.

@Ruby Tuesday can I ask, we’re you advised to stop HRT?

No, fortunately, and I’ve been on it for close to 10 years I think

I took my Mum to a breast unit about 11 years ago and we sat in the waiting room with about 8 women of different ages all going off having mammograms and other tests but then some would finish and leave and you would see the happiness and relief on their face and know they had nothing serious. I got talking to the woman next to us and she was relatively young and hers turned out to be a cyst. My Mum was also OK (she was over 70 and had a lot of breast pain but nothing showed up and she's still going strong!).

that’s good news, thank you. Glad your mum was ok. Fee a bit guilty I moaned about being called up now.

I’ve had no pain, no lumps, no changes etc so there’s that. DH being wonderfully supportive, booked the day off and has promised me he’ll take me to homesense when we’ve finished (it’s a fair trek and a place I love but he hates 😂)
He’s also pointed out we do have private healthcare as a backup if needed so a bit reassured by that (I’m catastrophising again lol).

Can i ask a question see if any of you have any advice. So im 38, i have always had fairly easy periods, not too heavy not too sore lasting 5 or 6 days. i am not on any birth control and have not been for about 2 years. In the last year my periods have gotten heavier and shorter but more painful. soaking through pads especially on day 2. That has never happened me before, the last few were also much more painful. i woke one night during my last one with very bad pain and heavy bleeding but only for 30/60 mins. Could this be the beginning of peri menopause?

Yes it could well be. You should go to your GP though as it's a new development. They could put you on the coil which really reduces periods and stops them in many cases.

My mum was called back after her first mammogram and her anxiety was out of control. It just turned out that she had had quite dense breast tissue and there were areas that were too unclear to see properly on the mammogram so needed an ultrasound to be able to check more thoroughly.

Thank you.
I confess I don't think I've been much fun to live with this last couple of days. I'm not an anxious person normally, very much a 'don't stress what you cant change' type, but this has really played on my mind.
I'll be glad when tomorrow is over.
