Tunde is so good actually, her 10 min light weight arms classes are exhausting and I like her style of intervals and arms class - usually one song bike one song weights for 45 minutes

What’s everyone’s favourite ever ride? I loved Leanne’s Pete Tong ride, I’m sure I got my PB on it. Someone on one of the pages said they loved Cody’s Britney ride which I need to do.
Leanne's spice girls ride, and Leanne and Hannah's IWD ride are both pure joy on a bike.

Thought I’d update on here about my bike, I bought the Life Fitness IC5. It’s ok. It does what it’s supposed to but I think I was so used to the technogym bikes at my gym that this is struggling in comparison. The handles are a lot less padded which is only a little thing but I don’t find them as comfortable so I put my towel over which helps. I feel like it’s not quite as sturdy as I am used to and I can feel that a bit if I’m sprinting or doing a standing incline sprint. And I’m struggling with the gear lever. Instead of the usual one you turn clockwise to go up a gear this is a lever that goes up and down. The resistance is 1-100 so I feel like I spend a lot of time faffing to get the gear I want whereas the spin bikes I am used to were a lot easier. All in all though it does the job but sometimes I wish I’d spent the extra and got a technogym one.

I’ve downloaded the free trials of the Les Mills and Peloton apps to do some spin classes and found the Les Mills one a bit cheesy and irritating. I’ve only done one on that app but there was no instruction about resistance or cadence and the instructor spent a lot of time singing to the music and just generally annoying me. I’ve done a couple of the Peloton ones now and I’m really enjoying them and today did one of the outside walk/runs one. Really like the instructors and all the positivity and can see me using the meditation section too. I don’t regret not buying the Peloton bike as I could still get bored of the app but overall so far really impressed.

Another vote for how lovely Leanne is, I used to think no one can be that happy, her sparkly pop princess persona had to be fake, anyway when the studio first opened I was lucky enough to get a freebie on her Beach Boy ride. She was exactly like you see on the screen, so much time for everyone, this would have also been at the time when she was fighting for someone to look at the lump she had found too.

Do you think Peloton made Cody apologise for his comment on that spin studio in Arizona or do you think he decided to himself?
Forced I think! Didn’t get an ounce of sincerity from it.

But if he really thinks it’s not a safe way to exercise, should he even have to??

The videos the Arizona studio remind me of Boom Cycle in London - that more fun dance-based spin class, which I have to admit I miss on the Peloton. The closest Peloton has are the Groove classes which, ironically, are mostly led by Cody.

We moved north just before the last lockdown and there’s nothing that comes close to any of the London classes up here, I’m missing that experience. The gym I joined is only £12 a month so I don’t mind paying the subscription on top, it’s still A LOT cheaper than a month of Barry’s. Can’t see myself going back to the gym in a hurry though, I caught covid from there just before the last lockdown so I’m wary of going back straight away

I’ve been on it 6 days a week, absolutely obsessed with it - unheard of for me to exercise so consistently for 2 months 😂

I bloody love mine! Worth every penny. I’ve had so much use out of it and I really feel it’s made the pandemic less stressful for me.

I got mine early April, just at the gyms shut.An absolute blessing. I worked through the height of covid so to come home and ‘switch off’ with a class was great.

Eee this was interesting to read! I’m really considering buying a Peleton bike. I’m missing the gym so much (would usually be there everyday!) and need something exciting to do at home. It’s expensive but I just can’t see how gyms are going to be open all throughout this year with the way things are going. Very tempted to make the plunge but it’s the £39 subscription that I’m a bit 😬 about

We've been thinking about buying a Peleton, especially now that lockdown is +6 months, however I'd hate to think anyone *enjoys* it being exclusive because it's so expensive :(

Tbh the only exercise I've ever enjoyed has been spin classes at Pyscle, at £20 a pop the monthly subscription works out cheaper, without the faff of having to prebook (the booking system is ridiculous I remember having to set a calendar alarm at midday to book onto that week's classes & pray) and fit it in around work/home/etc. The bike feels like it's in line with other bikes of that standard, but I'm not a pro so don't know.

Interestingly Pyscle have just come out with their own offering, the sub is cheaper but the bike is more expensive...

ETA: love all the alternatives mentioned in this thread, thank you, will research all of these x

Oh that’s good as he seems nice
Bradley seems like a prize arse though so not surprised they don’t hang out with him much!

Peloton users. Who are your fave instructors? I seem to circle round to Ben + Wilpers on the bike and Becs, Wilpers + Adrian for running/strength. Who am I missing out on?
Bike - Kendall, Cody, Jess King, Olivia, Bradley
Strength - Andy, Daniel, Jess Sims, Callie, Selena, Olivia
Bike Bootcamp - Callie, Jess and Cody
Tread Bootcamp - Andy, Rebecca, Jess Sims, Selena
Running - Andy, Chase, Selena, Matty
Stretching - Hannah Corbin
Core - Emma, Olivia
Yoga - Dennis, Kirra

I've just recently fell in love with Matt Wilpers though for how technical he is

The one I always roll my eyes at is a lady on the main "official" group on FB, she must be on FB constantly and has apparently been around since Peloton existed and therefore feels it is her right to comment on people's posts with huge amounts of condescension. Always a snipy comment from her on posts.
What’s her name?! Does it begin with a d by any chance because I had to block someone because they were so annoying 😅 up at like 3am to workout 🤪

the groups do annoy me so I hide them unless I have a question lol, too many sweaty selfies for my liking

I wanted to do the Becs and JJ run but I don't know any of Harry Styles' music so not sure if there's much point! I'm going to do Becs' welcome home run some time this week.
I've done a few Hannah Frankson rides recently and they've been great. You can tell she works hard during them too. No idea how the instructors do it tbh!
I also did my first Jess King ride last week, a 2000s pop one I think.
I recently did Bradley class, he gave a very huge range for resistance so you can decide if you want to chill or push for PB, which I like. It can feel relatively easy if you are aiming for the lower range, but yes overall I rate hims

I will try Hannah F next, a lot of people raved about her too :)

I have a bike and joined that group 3yrs ago as I thought it would be fun but oh no. Either criticised or just full of crap in the clicky group. One woman really annoyed me but can't for the life of me remember her name. Has blonde hair, numerous porches and doesn't seem to work judging by the time she spends on her bike.

I just think it's the worst group of people who do all of what the above have mentioned. They're not a community, they're materialised tramps

Are there any good Peloton members/groups who are genuinely decent people that are on socials like instagram or anything? Always keen for some inspo from genuine people
The Reddit sub pelotoncycle is reasonably normal - a bit weighted on the US side, but it’s fairly down to earth and focussed on the actual classes.
