Oh my goodness!! My people. I’ve found you on Tattle! How nice to have some good people to talk about amidst all the horrors we normally deal with.

Retro One-r far too many times over, live vibe chaser etc etc. Husband takes the piss out of the fact I refer to them as if I know them.

John’s post was beautiful. I always feel oddly proud of him and Elis (and Dave). I am hoping for nothing but good things for him.

Oh I'm really looking forward to the new series of How Do You Cope? - the bit where they talk to each other at the beginning is always the most interesting bit IMO.

Very similar here, I talk about them like we're long lost pals. Particularly given they've helpful me through some pretty dark times, I'll refer to them as such and get looks of "but you know they're not your friends, right"

John's post was very brave the other day and them opening up on the podcast today was equally so. I'm glad they got to discuss how things have been for Elis too (although not glad he's been going through something worth discussing of course). I think I'm guilty of thinking John is the troubled one and Elis has it all together and everything is great and he's only sometimes a bit skatty etc, so it was kind of reassuring almost to hear that he is affected by things in a sense. But it was clearly done this way so John could share what's been going on as I don't think the main show would necessarily be the right vibe and platform. I'm glad he's in a better place and making so much progress for himself. I'm so weirdly proud of someone I don't know. I hope he continues with this peace he's found.

After seeing everyone’s reaction to the new HDYC? I’m holding off listening because once I’ve listened then I won’t be able to experience it for the first time again. WHY AM I LIKE THIS.

John is a guest team captain on the latest Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown. It is great fun (though I think Pappy's might be an aquired taste? But I adore them). Matthew Crosby (who is 1/3 of Pappy's) also does the Sunday Radio X show with Ed Gamble (which I also love).

Lord i dread to think what’s happening in the group. Like you, @Gentlemensrelish I left because it was ridiculous. Sounds so silly but the bigger the group has got the worse it’s got. I’m not saying the boys had to stay an exclusive thing but it’s wild to me how arsey some people in the PCD group become about nothing and because they’re so proprietorial about the boys.

Anyway. Hoping Dave’s head isn’t too sore today and that Hannah enjoyed her BACS for a takeaway

So the drama has mainly related to John's comments on obesity. He's been listening to lot of Maintenance Phase, an excellent podcast that debunks diet myths. The probably is two fold. 1) a lot of the myths are very very deeply entrenched so people aren't willing to let them go. 2) John has only.remembered bits of it and is trying to convey hours worth of backed up info into 1 sentence soundbites. So it comes across as John being a bit dogmatic, which unfortunately he has a tendency to do.

Oh yeah, I actually found that slightly unlistenable as he seemed oblivious to the fact he was doing the same thing that pop science books do whilst simultaneously complaining about pop science (i.e. sort of giving some random 'facts' without much context). Dave and Elis's balance attempts were funny though.

Fair summary! I’d say it’s this, coupled with a few posts from people taking umbridge with his use of the term ‘dear’. Oh, and a smattering of posts discussing his alcoholism with coins saying thing like “how did Elis and Dave not notice, they are bad friends” (not a direct quote).

God sake. Based on what? Maybe it was mutually agreed they wouldn't mention it on the show until John was ready. Or maybe they really didn't notice. But guess what... alcoholics hide things. John lives alone. They don't always record together and what can they deduce from an afternoon together a week.

God people can be such tubes.

Sorry, not directed at you whatsoever. Just the FB group annoying me and I'm not even on it
