It was more about the fact that in Sydney we have a challenge named after someone because they were the first person to complete all Sydney based parkruns.
There was no mention or thought of trans row in my my mind.
however there is someone in NSW that has started a petition to have the records etc reinstated. Not many realise the actual reason why and where it’s come from
It's quite a common thing to name challenges after the first person to do them - Cowell, Freyne are the ones that spring to mind. I think there's a Lon-done one for all the parkruns in London.
I've actually gone back and looked at it again and I think the shirts are just coincidence like you say!
Saw a post today about Rocup run, they have a free 5k run on a Saturday morning, sound familiar 
Apparently when they started they turned up at the same park as parkrun but they start at 8:00am, the post said some parkruns had to be cancelled last minute. Not sure how much exaggeration was in the post??

I think it was one event that had to cancel? They announced it on the day I think. I’m not sure of the ins and outs but for example, I know HQs guidelines is cancelling for vehicles for example. So if they’ve bought a van and we’re packing up and driving out.
I was RD when someone was setting up an event (we’d been told they wouldn’t be there till about 11) and we had to cancel with about 20 minutes notice as there were a few flatbeds driving in and out of one of the gates.

I would have told them they didn't have access till 11, bit rude of them!
The slowest person at a local parkrun today was 1 hour 25, the person in front of them was 55 minutes. If one person had caused my volunteering slot to run over by another 30 minutes I would not be impressed. And that's on a nice day!
And it's not just as if it's affecting one person, is it? RD, tail walker, barcode scanner plus anyone involved in course closedown would have to hang around. It's so disrespectful and entitled. I know it's supposed to be inclusive, but that's not even making an effort surely? Most normal people would have the sense to drop out, surely?
It's not even a brisk walk is it? It's a stroll. I wasn't there so maybe she had a special reason, it looked like her first one ever.
I'd really hope that someone that slow would have alerted the RD beforehand that they are likely to be that slow. There is one person at my local parkrun that is pretty slow (although still under an hour) but atleast everyone knows and they do really try to complete as quickly as they can.
25 min per mile WTF? That’s not a run. If they want to walk they should do it in their own time. Outrageous and selfish to make all the volunteers hang around for that.

I know other cases where similar has happened unfortunately. IMO It's unfair on volunteers and partly why I don't volunteer as much now. I do think parkrun HQ should have thought about it more when introducing parkwalk.
I know this is petty of me, but I’m really enjoying how this BBC article uses an uppercase P for every instance of parkrun. You just know there will be some die hard fans getting properly wound up about how it should always be lowercase.

Gripes my tit people who walk it soo slow it puts me off volunteering tbh I used to regularly & helped set the junior one in our area so didn’t it being all done start to finish within an hr for the kids. But people past 10am are still walking around with their hiking sticks 🫠

I've taken over an hour before. But I remember at least courses being vile and difficult to walk on.
