wait, I missed it - so if the river is not clear enough they will simply resign from the swimming part of triathlon??? There is no alternative place as plan B???
Someone on here said yesterday they were going to swim in a different river - can't remember the name of it. Surely they can't have a triathlon with only two events?! That's embarrassing for them.

Yup!

Other than the Seine theres not any open water to swim in. They'd have to travel outside the city which at this stage would be a logistical nightmare for closing roads, transport and ticketholders :(

There is Le Bassin De La Villette, but its too far from where the cycle and running courses would be. No chance to organise that and ensure the correct distances etc now.

Honestly even if it does go ahead how many of the athletes will actually be willing to swim in it with all the safety concerns? There really should have been a back up plan for this.

They could let the triathletes do the swim part separately elsewhere or in a pool, and then use their times to stagger the starts on the main course (if that makes sense, 🤔. It makes sense to me, but I am weird 🤪)

Canada appeal against six-point deductionpublished at 16:04

Women's football

Canada's women's football team have launched an appeal against having six points deducted in their Olympic group after a drone was used to spy on a rival team's training session, but they haven't appealed against coach Bev Priestman's one-year ban.

The final decision of the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Soccer's appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) is expected at about 11:00 BST on Wednesday.

A Cas statement on Monday said Canada seek a decision "either cancelling or reducing the points deduction".

Cas added: "The applicants do not request relief with respect to the one-year suspensions imposed on the officials."

Canada are third in Group A, on zero points following the deduction, but victory over Colombia in their final group game would secure qualification for the quarter-finals.

The French can be super bleep. Don't remember things like that happening in 2012!
To be fair to the French the TV coverage made it look like a dive up the inside from Tom which put Victor off balance, but if you see the bit before that, Victor actually hit a tree and almost came off and was already off balance when he almost hit Tom. If they had seen the whole incident I don't think they would have booed Tom.

Could do but the idea is that you have to pace yourself across the three sections, not have a rest in the middle lol

Aw Peaty tested positive for Covid. Maybe he wasn't 100% yesterday. Hopefully he can compete in his other planned events.

When they are sat in the 'winning' seats it reminds me of the BBC show The 100 lol

There’s too much! Discovery says you can watch on up to 4 screens but it’s only letting me use 2 and I need MORE. Skating, canoe slalom, gymnastics. I’m not even a sporty person but I want to watch everything I can 😂

edit, oh and Judo!
