So sad and shocking! His gf Kate posted a video of her travelling back to the US 2 days ago by herself, so reckon he must have been there alone and that the Snapchat videos were scheduled / delayed? Seems like he was on all sorts and reports of him having prostitutes in his room. What a sad and sordid end for him. His poor family.

Professional wise, Liam needs to figure out who he is as an artist, and then define his career around his vision as a solo artist. Right now he’s just foundering, no sense of direction, and his lacklustre solo work reflects that.

The other members of 1D are able to find varying degrees of success in their own respective solo careers because they were able to define who they are as solo artists. Liam has yet to do so.

Liam is also messy, compared to the rest of the 1D boys. Next year marks 10 years since 1D has been on hiatus, and Liam has yet to actually roll out a solo career. At the rate he’s going, he’s not going to have a solo career.

And the person tweeting almost as soon as it happened that he jumped from a balcony (before TMZ announced it). I know his sisters didn't find out from that tweet but it seems very insensitive to post considering his family wouldn't be aware. People forget that he was a real person who had a real family. Sorry but I find these kind of takes so poor, responsibility for someone’s mental health should never be placed at the partners doorstep.

He was clearly off the rails, why should she put herself in danger to look after him?

There’s also plenty of other reasons why a partner might travel back before hand. For all we know they split / she had a commitment back home to go to / he asked her… etc.

Horrendous. I haven’t been the biggest fan of him in recent years and especially after all of the shit that has come out in recent months, but those 5 boys were my entire childhood/teenage years and I genuinely cannot believe one of them is now gone. Praying for his poor son, his family, Maya and the other 4 boys … particularly Louis who seems to know nothing but loss in recent years

Never in a million years did I think a one direction member would die while I was still so young, almost felt like they would live forever.

I don’t know the effect it has on anyone that’s why I deleted the post babe. 1D men owe us nothing as far as I’m concerned if they do a joint post and nothing else I understand. But a colleague from 10+ years ago who helped me get a leg up in my chosen field I might say something.

There isn’t a time limit to people posting condolence posts? Some people won’t do it until after funeral’s or when a date such a birthday or anniversary of something comes up.

Plus, a lot of people’s first thought isn’t to go straight to social media, it’s not even been 24 hours…

Unfortunately when someone doesn’t want help it’s almost impossible to do anything about it, they need to want to be helped. There are many events that ultimately contributed to this, Simon Cowell working those boys into the ground being one of them, but at the same time no one is really to blame.

I’m sorry Louis was 18 when he was put in the band. He had a normal teenage life, he didn’t have a normal adult life. Him being stunted is his own doing by that stage.

I'm probably wording this the wrong way but I'm sure there's a part of the boys that feels a sense of relief - this closes the story on 1D for good imo. I can't see them ever reuniting now or even too many journalists asking them about a reunion.

It's a bit like the cast of Friends. There's no pressure on them now to be seen together or to reunite and put on a display for the fandom. They can live their lives now as individuals instead of being tied forever to this juggernaut.

There needs to be some sort of intervention with Liam because he is seriously going off the rails.

He is the only one clinging to 1D and hasn’t made a name for himself outside of the band, but as many people are saying, he is the reason they will never get back together at this rate. I certainly wouldn’t want anything to do with him.

The sad reality is something like this was bound to happen. I remember commenting time and time again on here about louis and Liam. While the other 3 have achieved a level of success they are happy with, I've always thought Louis and Liam hadn't. I was concerned for Louis when the reports of him having to drink before gigs and smashing hotel rooms came out. I do think Louis is in a better place in his life now after his second album and tour, and has accepted that the band isnt coming back. I think this situation will bring him closer to Zayn and in a way will help him heal knowing that was one of his mums final wishes

Liam has just spiralled for the past couple of years. Reports of drugs, cheating, abusing people, constantly reminiscing about the band to the point of making it his whole personality and a need for validation. There was a sense of desperation and it's sad that the witness from the hotel (daily mail) noted the same thing

I always said he should take a step back and try something else. Music wasn't working for him and it must've been difficult seeing the success the others were having. He even told Maya that he resented the success harry had, and it should be him. I feel bad for his family

Agree. I hope that if there’s any positive to come out of this it’s that Louis and Zayn can rekindle their friendship as they were such genuine friends back in the day and I still see a lot of similarities in them now.
