I find some of 1Ds songs quite eerie to listen to now just because of how they foreshadow what’s happened in a way. E.g. change your ticket “girl don’t leave me all alone in this hotel”, long way down “now I’m falling it’s a long way down” and story of my life “seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone”. I’m sure there’s plenty more.

I feel so sorry for his little boy. I know he didn’t seem to see him very much, so his day to day life probably won’t change much but it’s still a huge life altering thing to go through at that age. I also think 7 is tough because they’re still so young, yet they understand a lot so it’s hard to protect them. It’s sad that he didn’t get the chance to better himself and be there for his child more as he grows up.

THIS. I was never really a 1D fan but all morning I have just been thinking about Cheryl and Bear. Maybe because I have a kid the same age.

Whether Liam was present or not, parents are the centre of the world for young kids. I can't imagine having to break it to your child that their parent has died - and then you can't even turn on a TV or go outside because there will be photos and news stories of him everywhere. Also the paparazzi will probably be lurking nearby to get the first "sombre Cheryl steps out after news of ex Liam's death" photos.

This is all just so heartbreaking I’m beyond devastated. me and my sister were only discussing Liam a week before the news broke and we both said this is going to end bad - I’m sure others could see it coming too. The hate he was receiving was disgusting, it was being whipped up by tiktok influencers and meme pages on Instagram to the point everyone was joining in because it was the new “funny” thing to do. “Cringey Liam” etc… I know he had his issues and the situation with Maya was horrible but this was a man clearly struggling and crying out for help. I am not excusing his behaviour I myself have been in a horrible DV relationship. I do talk openly about it and I am not blaming or pointing the finger at Maya. She has every right to talk about her trauma, But it was getting out of control by people that had no right to be involved and it was mass bullying. the man was not well and it was painfully obvious from from the videos at Nialls concert. Also, Harry was dancing and jumping around at Niall concert where was his hate? If Harry went to wave and talk to fans everyone would be falling over themselves saying how amazing he is ( no hate at Harry just pointing out the hypocrisy). Look at this previous post of liams imagine being a punching bag and laughing stock I can only hope Liam is now seeing the outpouring of love from all the memorials across the world and seeing how loved he is.

Talking about how much “they adored and relied on him” but not once single post of him before. There was a a girl on live in a psych ward last night ACTUALLY Sobbing, Sui baiting, eluding to harming herself etc.

This generation is warped.

Nothing new about this I’m afraid. Just look at the wellbeing helplines set up for Take That fans 30 years ago.

I find myself thinking of his girlfriend quite often. I can’t imagine how scary and sad this is for her. He was buried in the right place, at home where his parents and son can visit him, but it’s nowhere near her.

I feel awful for her. She thought they were going to get married soon, he was her ‘future’ and now it’s just been ripped away from her.

Harry always seemed a bit off towards Liam in 1D. He definitely wasn't happy and he did distance himself. It's a shame as he has got a decent voice but just no personality

I think from what harry’s said in interviews he was pissed off that he would have to shoulder the brunt of the negative press the band got when it was other boys’ actions. liam was always a bit of a loose cannon and seemed very hard lad during that time so I think that was part of it. I remember during harry’s first album cycle liam made a couple of digs about how he didn’t understand how harry dressed, he wouldn’t put bear in those clothes and other stuff. maybe not that serious at the time but there’s obviously a nasty streak to liam behind closed doors we’ve only got bits of now. Plus I think they’re just not the type of people to gel regardless. they wouldn’t have chosen to be friends if they weren’t put in the same band together

All of the boys’ tributes are beautifully written. Im pleased they look to have been written themselves and not by some PR. Zayn’s is full of grammatical errors but proves the authenticity. I’ve seen some giving Niall shit for not releasing anything but he was the last of the boys to see Liam before he passed away so it might take him a little longer.

We didn’t appreciate it enough. Sometimes we just don’t realise how precious things are until it’s too late.

Liam was never very stable or that nice a person. He went into the X Factor a second time clearly expecting and entitled to be the frontman in the band (whether Simon actually promised him that like Liam claims is sort of a moot point because he can’t control what the public response is to the band) and he had to reposition himself in the hierarchy once it was apparent Harry was the most popular. He took on the mantle of being the responsible one but spiralled when he wasn’t getting the validation he wanted and made that everyone else’s problem. It’s an unpopular opinion here and in some of the 1d men’s fandoms but in my opinion it’s fairly obvious they gave Louis and Liam the narrative of writing some of 1d’s music to give them something to differentiate them and to try and mature the band’s image. I had a lot of sympathy for Liam for a while because it’s not enjoyable watching someone abuse substances and go off the deep end, but he’s an unlikable homophobic and sexist arsehole who abuses women. There’s no coming back from that.
