We have Manchester Tart which, I think is similar, it's a pastry case with a layer of jam, then a thick layer of custard with desiccated coconut sprinkled on top. Some people also put bananas in the custardI’m from Kent and we have scotch eggs. Do Northerners have gypsy tarts though?

I’m sure chippy sauce is an Edinburgh thing. Don’t think Glaswegians have it as much? It’s basically brown sauce with vinegar in it.I’ve been to a Scottish chippy in the past and instead of salt and vinegar on chips it’s salt and sauce??
