I echo what everyone is saying on here about how absolutely insane he is to have chosen to sue. The original allegations were shocking enough but hearing all the detailed testimony is absolutely devastating. And his lawyers are stuck suggesting that everyone who is testifying is doing so out of jealousy; having been rejected; or lying as part of a conspiracy. I mean, how unlucky must Clarke be to have dozens of unrelated people decide to make up stories about their horrendous experiences with him for no apparent reason

His former best man (Davie Fairbanks), who he has now fallen out with, testified that Clarke secretly sent him naked photos of a woman that he had slept with. Clarke's lawyer initially said that there was no evidence that any photos had been shared or shown by Clarke, however on the eve of Fairbank's testimony, he found a cache of photos sent to him by Clarke. Apparently Clarke is going to be recalled at some point to explain the presence of these photos on Fairbank's hard drive. That should be interesting.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in his lawyers private internal meetings when they discuss his 'defence'. This must be one case where they shake their heads and just think of their hefty fees.

I don't see how Clarke emerges from this other than completely discredited and financially bankrupt. And I can't wait. What a truly despicable man.

Excellent analysis. Its like we are seeing precisely how he has been deluding himself and his Mrs - everyone is jealous, has been rejected or is part of a conspiracy against him - and the whole pathetic charade is being revealed in forensic detail. Couldn't happen to a nicer person

Must say the guardian have really put the work in and are backing up every claim- he's coming out of this looking even worse if that was at all possible.

New to this thread after reading what's been happening with noel, I did used to be a fan of his films when I was a teen but after reading some of the witness statements I realized his films are mostly young actresses having to strip of & do sex scenes & he always gets extras in to stand around completely naked for the gangsters crib scenes

So he was back on the stand today to explain why his former friend had copies of explicit photos that he took a woman when he'd previously said that he had never shared any photos with anyone. Well, Clarke's answer was that Fairbanks must have stolen them from his devices because he insisted that he has never shared them. He claimed that he kept the photos in an unprotected file on a laptop that Fairbanks knew the password to.

So, according to him, his friend randomly accesses his laptop, presumably at a time when they were friends, happens to see and access this 'unprotected' folder, and decides to keep copies without even mentioning them to his friend. Honestly, what complete and utter bull. His attempts to explain the indefensible are both unbelievable and embarrassing.

I can't wait for the judgment because I expect the judge to excoriate him in the most blistering legal language permissible.

A prominent actor said Noel Clarke’s honorary award from Bafta was handing him a “loaded gun” to seduce and silence women, the high court has heard.

Jing Lusi, who stars in Gangs of London and Red Eye, is one of more than 20 women whose allegations of sexual misconduct by Clarke were reported by the Guardian in 2021-22 and which form the basis of Clarke’s libel claim against the publisher.

In 2021, Bafta announced it would give Clarke the outstanding British contribution to cinema award, although it was suspended after the revelations in the Guardian.

In her witness statement, Lusi alleges that Clarke propositioned her over a dinner in 2018, “describing sexual acts to me”, repeatedly boasted about his 2009 rising star Bafta and then threatened her when she turned him down.

The court was played audio of Lusi speaking to the Guardian journalist Sirin Kale in which the actor said of Clarke’s honorary award: “It’s going to be a grape tool kit. You’re handing him a grape tool, either he’s going to use it to seduce women and lure them back to his lair or he’s going to use it to silence them … It’s terrifying. He couldn’t stop talking about it [the 2009 award] in 2018.”

Lusi, who also starred in Crazy Rich Asians, said the award was handing Clarke a “loaded gun”. No allegations of grape were published by the Guardian. On Friday, Philip Williams, representing Clarke, asked Lusi whether she had ever made any such allegations against his client. She replied she had not and was not accusing him of grape but when asked whether she wanted to retract her words about the award being “a grape tool kit” she declined to do so.

She also said on the call that the 2021 award was a box-ticking exercise “because he’s black”. Lusi told the court she believed that it was a response to Bafta having been accused of “being too white” but her issue was that Clarke’s body of work “didn’t warrant any award at that level”. She compared his “mediocre” work unfavourably with that of Ang Lee, another person of colour, who received the Bafta fellowship award in 2021.

When Williams suggested she was “professionally jealous”, she laughed and denied it.

Looks like the guardian will win this hands down after these witness statements. Turns out he’s the liar.
He’s been so desperate on his insta to gain fans and comes across all friendly saying if you see me say hi or meets up with “fans”( as opposed to luring them to London by dodgy emails) I reckon that was a cover because he knew what was coming out about him and he needed to say with hindsight that he always meets fans. I've been following Reddit discussions about this case, and so many people say they have negative experiences of him, or they knew stories of his behaviour.

There's hardly any positive comments for him. Maybe there's more positive comments on Twitter, but I don't use that much.

Before all this came out, David Tennant returned as Doctor Who via audio stories about 10 years ago.

Like many Doctor Who stories, they tend to start things off with fan pleasing episode, and they bought back virtually all the big names that had played the Doctors 'family', such as Catherine Tate, Billie Piper, John Barrowman, Camille Corduri, et al. Only two characters didn't come back, Elizabeth Sladen (who had passed away), and Noel Clarke. I was surprised at this because Clarkes character had been very prominent. It has been rumoured that either Tennant or Billie Piper put the kiboosh on his return. This is before any stories about Clarke came out.

It’s that I wonder if he sees forcing the women to give evidence in court, to be a positive part of it all? It must be traumatic and humiliating having to discuss deeply personal experiences in public, knowing anyone can read about them. Maybe that gives him a feeling of control and power? I wonder if that impacted his decision to sue?

Yes I think I know what you mean, it seems to be a way for people to doubly punish accusers, by dragging them through the legal system.
