Will join need to save and pay off debt and just be better with money. Going to try and only buy what is needed rather than big food shop weekly. Meal plan will be eating healthy but by planning and getting in basics start of the month i am hoping it can work. Need to stay away from shops and online buying where possible. Will try and track daily spending and see how many no spend days i can do.

Up for a low spend. I wish I could do no spend but we are moving house plus also have the HMRC payment at the end of Jan.

However I have no birthdays etc So only spend will be fresh food and one event in London which I can set some money aside for.

Up for low spend. I was awful with being organised with Christmas shopping so did it all this month and I am Suffering. Hopefully moving house next month and have mine and my husband’s birthdays so no spend definitely isn’t feasible!

This thread helped me get a lot more organised last year. Following along out of interest. I think I need to analyse my spending habits more. I’m not in debt but I will be if I don’t take care. Benefits are only going down in future.

I also noted how much I managed to “earn“ from side hustles (it was an annoyingly bumper year which I won’t be able to match) was almost £18 per week, which is loads!
Equivalent of £10 per week should be achievable this year. I’d really like to be able to save it.

Up for a low spend! I have my mum and sisters birthdays coming up, but nothing else. I've already re-ordered skincare that was running out and some other bits I needed. I do not need to buy anything else other than food shops!! I want to book a holiday for myself and my son this year so I'll allow a deposit for that 😂

I need to commit to this as it really helped this time last year. Yesterday I was adamant I wasn’t going to buy more stuff but had a crap start to the new year and was in a foul mood so did what I always do which was buy crap I don’t need to cheer myself up.

Paid for a Tesco delivery today which was mostly necessities. Tomorrow I'm travelling but won a gift voucher for Costa on the postcode lottery so can treat myself to a free hot chocolate at least, hopefully won't spend anything 🤞

My side hustle link was deleted but if you go to the beermoneyuk sub on reddit they share ways to make extra money. The moderation is pretty strict so any referrals and t&cs have to be posted in the first post.

I didn’t spend anything yesterday and today I’ve filled the car with petrol, did our food shop and got a reduced price magazine subscription in an attempt to reduce my screen time so not too bad all in all.
Did anyone used to use the old how much have you spent today thread? I loved that if anyone’s up for a revival.

Side hustles can be so weird because the money is in dribs and drabs, and you never know if you’re going to have a bumper run or just months of pennies.
That’s why I want to save it up, but lately I’ve needed to use all the odd £5 here and there.

Im aiming for a v low spend Jan (and year!). I reckon I can do at least a month of just essentials food shopping wise (fresh stuff, milk, bread), our cupboards and freezer are jam packed and anything else I am shopping my own cupboards for (toiletries etc!) and can only buy more if I do not have a near alternative!!

Day 1 - no spend
Day 2 - no spend. Earnt £30 trudging round a woods waving a plastic flag. This will go towards this months livery cost for the pony, I would usually spaff it on a takeaway but those are banned for Jan at least!

To go anywhere near an ikea and only spend £7 is a major victory.

I’m trying to expand the amount and terrain Mr Darvos can walk (long covid). Made the mistake of trying out a new hill today by walking with him to the garden centre (I needed a birthday card and had a £1 member voucher on its last breath). Ended up in the cafe where we spent over £30 on food that wasn’t great. Still, MrD had pie, peas, and a sense of hill victory. Next time we’ll take a butty and a bottle of water.

Today - no spend. Still working my way through lots of leftover food and I've made some lovely soup with the OTT amount of food I bought.
Tomorrow will be more of a challenge as I have to go the High St to return some library books and post some letters. Must stay strong!
