I get what you mean about the design. It's kind of a shame that it's not a bit more different to the Switch, but I get that they didn't want to depart from the handheld aspect, given that's one of the most popular aspects of the original.

I'd love to go to the Nintendo museum! You lucked out there with an original DS. I've still got my 3DS XL and charged it up the other day. It looked a lot more dated than I remembered, but it's still fun to play games on it.
I wish you could have got it will full colour joycons, life is so grey, boring and flat these days.

We went to the museum not long after it opened and it was a nightmare getting two tickets. I'm glad I went but it's nothing to write home about. One level is a collection of things to look at (the best bit was probably the video screens showing the same game in different generations but you could watch that on youtube) and the bottom level was big controllers to play on and some of their old toys to play with. The best was probably the real life baseball. The shop had some cool unique things in. The cafe was a normal burger place with a bit of theming. There were some workshops but didn't feel like making a deck of cards. Much better things to do in Kyoto.

Animal Crossing is amazing! I was never really a big fan of it When it came out for the DS, but I’m really enjoying it now!

I'm really tempted to pre-order the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch.

I've had my Switch since launch, so it's six years old. It has a few issues (fan very noisy, memory card slot broken, etc). But the Switch is getting towards the end of its lifecycle now, so it'd probably be a bit silly to buy a new one at this point!

I wouldn't even mind a remake of an older animal crossing like some other games have done, where they have just updated features on it an maybe gave it a bit of a new look

I got this email today:

I can't get one for love nor money. 😂 The above email from Amazon goes on to say that invitations are no longer needed to buy a Switch 2, you've just got to visit the site to check - ie like any other item. So it'll be a case if you're lucky and just happen to be looking when they come back into stock for 5 minutes.

I've got one on back order with ShopTo and they're not accepting any further orders for the time being, which hopefully means I'll be able to get one of the second shipment of consoles from there.

I've always managed to get Nintendo consoles on release day by pre-ordering before, so it's clearly very popular.

$300 from the last one to $450 seems like quite the jump, but the new system is so much more powerful. It's justified, but everything is so expensive.

Will be interesting to see how much better old games run on it.

Hi! Does anyone have a recommendation for an "aftermarket" dock please? Need one for another TV rather than unplugging everything all the time, but would rather get a £30ish Amazon one than the 💰💰💰 for an official one. There are so many on there!

I completed and spent 160 hours on Mario Odyssey lol. I loved it.
Wow! I must have missed alot on that as spent no where near as long. I've kinda given up after the dark dark side of the moon and the bit after flying the dragon with those moving platforms and that moving gold ring

Did you buy this as a Zalfie fan girl ?
In my head you did ???
I'm offended! :ROFLMAO: I bought around 2004-5 so probably before youtube existed let alone zoella ;) I lived in Brighton way before her and think its a boring shadow of its former self, but I'm old now. It was a shit monopoly as all the spots are sponsored so they don't correlate to the prices.

I've bought Skyrim on the back of this thread, not even sure why as it looks all dungeons and dragons and roleplay. Least they do resell for a good price

I’m obsessed with animal crossing. Love the new update. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve spent over 1k hours since lockdown just on AC 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂
Did stop to play the new Pokemon shield DLC. Wasn’t hugely impressed. And I still have new Pokemon to catch.
Enjoyed Lets Go pickachu as well.
We used to play monopoly on the main switch as a family.
Have a few other games, spyro, crash bandicoot, super Mario Kart as well.
Still too busy on AC, i time travel and have made quite a few friends online so we trade items and diys. Has definitely helped during this crazy period.

Am hoping we can buy spare joycons in future an those will be colours, I've got spare ones for my switch 1 an they come in handy at times for switching out when the battery gets low

Have just gotten my screen protector today an thinking about a carry case, right now doesn't seem to be a huge choice of accessories so hoping for more coming out soon

If anyone's getting the switch from Smyth's they are holding midnight release party's, you will need your photo ID, it will only be for those that have done click and collect though, they might also have a very limited number of consoles that haven't been pre-ordered for sale but am not sure on how low that stock will be, first 100 in line get goody bags too

Does anyone have any 'hidden gem' game recommendations?
I have most of the recent and/or popular releases.
I love Zelda, played and completed most Marios, have all (I think) Pokemon games, enjoyed A Little to the Left.
Basically, I feel like I've run out of new games (I just replay old ones, over and over) and so looking for some random recommendations if anyone has any!

I've finally bought one and it's making my commute a lot more enjoyable.

Mario Odyssey is great, but I'm currently addicted to Celeste. Such a great platformer thats so well designed - really tricky but not frustrating and 15 hours in but I've still got loads left to do.

Tempted to get la noir next

Does anyone else find their internet download speeds are slower on their Switch/Switch 2 than any other devices?

Yesterday it didn’t seem too bad so I thought the Switch 2 was better, but today it’s back to being slow. When I do a speed test on the Switch 2 it says 15mbps down, but my phone says 200mbps so I know my internet is fine.

It could just be that Nintendo’s servers are being hammered right now I guess.

Not yet, but they don't tend to announce new consoles in advance, they usually just spring them on us at the Nintendo Directs.
Not sure how I feel about a switch "2" I kindi like that they just keep releasing new updated versions like this one that's now out, rather than do a new console all together

Xbox an PS kindi annoy me with that because as soon as the new gen is out then the last is forgotten about an they eventually stop making games for it, I'd like if the switch didn't follow that route an continued to just keep doing updated versions of the one they have so that you can always buy new games without having to get a new console

It looks great! I love my Switch so I’ll definitely get the Switch 2. It was good to see a new Mario Kart game as well after all these years (MK8 is a Wii U game if we’re being honest).

It’ll be good to see more of the games in the Nintendo Direct. Probably hoping for too much by wondering if we’ll see a preview for a new Zelda game.
