You're going into the water in a big coat ... you take it off.. or you get it off as soon as you hit the water and are drowning.. take your clothes off in a panic... take your wellies off... you scramble and shape your way up the river bank... you scream and shout... you hurt yourself getting trees and brambles and loosing possessions in your escape from death.... you're fighting for your life... I've done this...
And nothing .......Bullshit this women has gone too quietly and too quickly.. young vibrant strong woman with everything to live for...
And nothing....
Absolute bullshit....
Reading this makes me wonder how often you’ve drowned? You sound like the kind of person who thinks they’d be able to fight a bear should you run into one. Sod those people that get attacked by one, just fight back!

This might be slightly off topic but the way some people talk about suicide is so ignorant. None of us know this lady at all so we’re in no position to judge whether she would or wouldn’t have committed suicide based on her sm or things her family have said. Someone close to me killed themselves last year and to say there was zero indication would be an understatement. You couldn’t meet a seemingly happier person; great job, beautiful family and lots of friends who adored them. They acted completely normal until the last minute, sending an email asking for a report from a colleague and they were gone that afternoon.

Not saying for a minute this is what’s happened here at all but people talking as if they have intimate knowledge of Nicola’s life or mental state is mind numbing.

You know there’s no prizes or moral superiority for being ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in theories on this thread… nobody knows more than anyone else… (and if you do 👀 you probs shouldn’t be here 👀) it’s all total speculation, some a bit wilder than others, admittedly, but all contributing to the thread…

Also, I've been seriously mentally unwell at more than one occasion. If I was going into a river, the phone is coming with me. I would absolutely loathe the contents of my phone being made public knowledge. There's nothing seedy, or rude, or illegal on it, but it's my entire life, everything about me is contained in it.

Unpopular opinion but I don’t think the partner has anything to do with it. I think he looks broken and like he’s trying desperately hard not to cry. Fucking hell I don’t think I’d even be able to speak on camera if my boyfriend went missing, I’d be a total wreck. Probs would have a tattle thread on me about how suspicious my behaviour was 😂 there’s been witness accounts of seeing her there and I’m pretty sure him having an alibi would be one of the first things the police would have looked into

Slightly off-topic but the interview with the husband reminded me of the Joanna Yeates murder. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Joanna_Yeates

They arrested her landlord (Christopher Jeffries) and his photo was plastered all over the newspapers the next day. I think probably me and thousands of other people went “Well, good to see they’ve caught the fucking pervert.” (see image 😐).

Turns out he had nothing to do with it, but just had the misfortune of not presenting visually as a ‘nice’ person and was rude, indignant, and cold towards the press and officers at the point of interview. It has always made me think differently about people since then.

Oh and he was awarded a six figure sum as a result of the reputational and emotional damage. I think to think he purchased a hair transplant and some new eyebrows with it 🫣🤪

I think the husband probably just hasn’t slept in days, is in shock, doesn’t have a good way with words, and isn’t presenting in the traditional emotional manner that many would expect. I don’t think it makes him guilty of anything.

It was her sister who pushed her in the river and ran off. She’s having an affair with the husband and they want the life insurance to start a new life in Benidorm 🫣Too soon?

The police have been so certain from the very beginning that this is a missing case haven’t they? No third party involvement. I don’t know what can make them be so sure, unless there is a mental health aspect or something going on at home that they’re aware of.

As someone who has worked in the police her partners choice of words on the tv interview were strange. He describes the situation 'It just seems absolutely impossible... like a dream' which to me seems very odd, as I would describe it as a nightmare. He also states 'Every single scenario comes to a brick wall. Every single one of them’. This seems so final as if he knows she’s not alive anymore. But maybe I’m reading too much into it!
Working in the police then you'll know that given the time that’s passed they’ve told the family chances are they’re now looking to find a body. You’ll also know that he’s on the spot with this interview and dream isn’t such an odd word to use when in distress and on the spot.

I’d be interested to know if she usually joined her team calls in that way - on mute and no camera, or if that was unusual.
I join team calls like that. The only time I will have my camera on is if I’m expected to speak but if it’s a meeting where I know I don’t have to talk then it’s muted and no camera on.

I imagine she had her camera and mic off because she wasn’t contributing and was out with the dog
- i am definitely guilty of doing the same haha

This case reminds me of a lady who went missing in Newcastle one Boxing Day. She had got up in the middle of the night and went for a walk.they found her body in the water two months later. At the time she went missing they said there were no problems but she sometimes had trouble sleeping.

A year after she died the family did an interview raising awareness of mental health problems then spoke at length about all the things she would worry over and then said she has struggled with her mental health but didn’t speak up about it. Also when the husband reported her missing the Police asked for her handbag and it had a note in saying ‘I can’t cope anymore’. That was never released by the Police while she was missing.

I wonder why her husband wasn't at the press conference yesterday with her family.

The whole thing is so mystifying
I’m thinking he’s focussing on staying with his kids. It does make him look a bit distant from it all, unfortunately, but if it’s the case that he’s caring for his children, who must be very scared and unsettled, then I can’t blame him at all for that.

I have watched the interview with her partner, I feel that his laugh is a nervous/bewildered laugh. He's hardly saying "haha this is all so funny, my partner's missing and it's hilarious hahahah" is he? He has 2 young children at home, he's probably trying to keep upbeat for them. We don't know what he has told them. People say I couldn't smile if my partner was missing like this, you don't know what you would do. You might have to keep up a normal appearance for your children, mum's gone away, she will be back soon, playing, smiling laughing with them. I'm not saying he's not involved or he is involved because, at this point, there are a number of scenarios, but I don't think a nervous laugh is enough to say he is dodgy.

The most logical thing is that she has somehow fallen into the river and drowned. I think she will be found dead in the next few days sadly

Apparently the house is not abandoned it’s a renovation project. So many things do not add up though. The interviews the parents just did were set up by the press not the police. The husband/partner has kept a very low profile although he does have the children to look after. The police know more than they are telling us I think , they are waiting for the right moment to reveal more. I don’t think she’s in the river but who knows.

Isn’t it awful that partners hurting women is so common that nobody would be massively shocked if it was him 😞

Her poor fella... he has been crucified on Twitter since that interview he give this morning - some of the comments I've seen 😱

Think the police have given that press conference & the hypothesis to stop all the accusations against him.

It's so sad the whole thing poor little girls losing their mum 💔
Ive just seen a comment on TikTok saying that the fact he’s wearing a woolly hat is suspicious, like he’s wearing it as a disguise 🙄
