I had a friend called Daphne, she hated it. I had a friend in the 60s called Delphine, never heard the name before or since.

Delphine was the name my great-aunt used in English! I never met her but my grandfather thought she chose it from a movie

If you name her Jolene she will forever have people singing that song at her as an adult

My friend has a 14-year-old Jolene, no one in her age group has heard of the song so she has blissfully escaped this thus far

I absolutely love Violet but my husband says it reminds him of the mother in American Horror Story always shrieking it

Violet was the daughter in that show, the mother was called Vivian so you can relax
