Also as an Irish person living in the UK it makes me laugh when anyone says "oh you're Irish! My child has an Irish name *insert name found on Google which sounds Irish but definitely isn't*

Ah yes... Yes lovely😅
“Kaven... when it’s spelled with a K, it means ‘handsome’ in Irish” :ROFLMAO:

My little girl has Ray as a middle name, hoping it doesn’t sound chavvy as it’s after a singer/band leader!
my list would be..

Arlo-every kid in East London is called this
Margot/Margaux- see above
Aoife-hate the spelling and sound of it and yes I know it’s an Irish name but I’ve only ever known kids whose parents aren’t Irish use it
Grace-nice enough name but so overused
Grayson-I just hate it
Mason-so 90’s
Angus
Fraser
Theo
Honor-largely because I can’t say it and make it sound nice!
Anoushka/Aurora for the same reasons

Apart from the obvious ones (Gary, roger etc) these are names that I will definitely NOT be naming my children when I have them:

Kai - this is Maori for food so I laugh when I see kids named it lol
Braydon/Grayson/Jayden/ anything that’s ay-un lol
Albie ... I know 2 kids in the last year with this name?!
Isla
Ridiculously out there names like Malaya
Clemmie
Tiggie
Arlo
Rafferty
Brooke (I think it’s a harsh sounding word)
Luna
Aurora
Milo
George and Henry (nice names but too common now)
And then there’s the people who swap the y for the ie or even worse.. ii 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s like a competition for people to have the most obscure name.. either going for completely made up names or trying to bring back ancient ones with a modern twist ( Albie) ... STOP!!!!
Yes amount of boys named Harry, William & George at the nursery was insane few years ago. I quite like classic names but it’s just boring now.

I love nosing at names 😭

my sons nickname is Sully but on his birth certificate he’s Sullivan. The response I get each time I’m asked his name by an older person is “ohh well that’s different”

I hate Phoenix but what’s worse is hearing it being spelled FENIX. 🤮🤮🤮 As if the name isn’t bad enough, to go and desecrate the word with THAT. What adult is going to suit Phoenix?!? Handing their CV in to a professional company...not going to look like a gob at all 🙈

Any name ending in a y or ie! Every time I hear a child being told off I hear their names being dragged out, eg stop it Harrrrrrrrrrrrrry!

Disney names 🥴 Honestly, these children are going to grow up one day and hate their idiotic names.

Names that are purposely spelt wrong in order to be different like Fenix above.

Names that are symbolic like Hope

Cutsy names like Betsy 🤢

American names like Carter, AJ etc.

There’s a very short list of names I actually like 😂😂🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Someone asked me how I spell Isabella. "...with an 's' or a 'z'?". Genuinely confused me. He said his girlfriend loved the name and wanted to spell it Izabella. I told him very politely to talk her out of it! Also knew a Daizy. Love the name, hate the spelling.
