Also as an Irish person living in the UK it makes me laugh when anyone says "oh you're Irish! My child has an Irish name *insert name found on Google which sounds Irish but definitely isn't*

Ah yes... Yes lovely😅

Ohhhhh I find boys names are the worst. I live in a small town so I wanted a name that wasn’t common I can’t be dealing with there being 4 kids with the dame name in his class!!
My little boys name is a surname, although I don’t think it’s a common one, BUT he’s only the “surname” version on his birth certificate so he could choose what to go by when he’s older for likes jobs etc. We call him a shorter version now. Giving him a surname as a first name is probs controversial!!

I HATE
hunter
Hudson
Ezra
Enzo
Tommy
Grayson
All the Jayden kaiden etc
Also seeing KIT being thrown about wtf is that all about ?? Just sounds like PE KIT
Ronnie
Arlo
Archie

don’t mean to offend anyone
My eldest has a surname first name too

None of my kids names have been mentioned thankfully but my granddaughter has (Amelia).

One of my Facebook friends has just had a baby and called him Klayton.
Why not just Clayton (which I'm also not a fan of).

Someone else called theirs Francheska....I thought it was a spelling mistake at first 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
'Klayton' sounds like a photo copier company.

Growing up I always hated Leanne, Kayleigh, Dawn and Darren and now I hate:
Connor
Callum
Poppy
Jayden/kayden
Logan
Jake
Ruby
Brody
Toby
Skye
Paige
TJ

And my all time most hated.....Tim *shudder

I have a really unusual name but gave my two quite standard names.

I think i would like it if she hadn’t used it, I think the fact she’s a cav paired with the other child being Brooklyn just puts me off 😭
Absolutely. So many people commented on the name announcement with 'my son is called Hudson river' I mean seriously. Absolute cav 🤣

One of the quite well known Instagram ‘Influencers’ has a boy named Harbor 🤢
Harbor? I’m guessing like a harbour but spelt without a u. Once in Q&A’s people asked her how did she pick her boys names and what other names did she consider.
I can’t imagine asking advice from someone who names their kid Harbor.

When I had my 1st little girl (planned c section), the theatre staff were so relieved that we didn't have a "Marvel" name as they'd already delivered two babies called Thor that day 🤦‍♀️

I don't like any names referring to TV etc (all the GoT names before THAT ending😩)

Equally not a fan of names that sound like you've given birth to an 89 year old. Maisy, Archie, Arthur, Betsy, etc.
I would think it’s a big risk to name your child Thor, after a Greek God and a chiseled superhero. If your child grows up to be really skinny or a bit podgy, then it’s quite awkward. 😂😂

Loxley!! Isn’t that Robin Hood’s name? Robin of Loxley... 😂

Bobbymac sounds like a cross between a rapper and a McDonalds meal.

Love this thread. I was doing well until page 20 🤣 I have an Isabella but my family are actually Italian so that's why we chose it. Agree it is popular, however I've not met another one yet! And we love it. Hopefully it is on the decline- my LG is 17 months old.

So, when I was a teenager I had the most horrific names on my baby list; charity, destiny, chastity (WTAF?!) 🤢 I think I have the list in the loft somewhere! Good job I now prefer more traditional names. I know of a Destiny. Not a good name!

I hate the names Fletcher and Thatcher!

Keith, Barry. Think it would put me off if I met a man called either of these.

Hate stupid spellings and double barrelled names!

I feel sorry for Lexis...I know one little girl and she is beautiful and very smart. I wouldn't choose it myself, though I like it if it is short for Alexandra.

Brandon is also awful.

I like a lot of girls names on here like Primrose, Arabella, Poppy, Lily and Daisy.
Thatcher??? Really? It’s akin to calling your kid Hitler!

Apart from the obvious ones (Gary, roger etc) these are names that I will definitely NOT be naming my children when I have them:

Kai - this is Maori for food so I laugh when I see kids named it lol
Braydon/Grayson/Jayden/ anything that’s ay-un lol
Albie ... I know 2 kids in the last year with this name?!
Isla
Ridiculously out there names like Malaya
Clemmie
Tiggie
Arlo
Rafferty
Brooke (I think it’s a harsh sounding word)
Luna
Aurora
Milo
George and Henry (nice names but too common now)
And then there’s the people who swap the y for the ie or even worse.. ii 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s like a competition for people to have the most obscure name.. either going for completely made up names or trying to bring back ancient ones with a modern twist ( Albie) ... STOP!!!!

Yeah, I think the same of Poppy, Daisy, Honey, etc.. what if she grows up into a bit of a plain lump, she’d be picked on no end.
