i've recently seen boys named Cord and Crews. not Crew, but Crews - with an S.
i also saw someone complaining that she had named her son Augustine and was angry that everyone was pronouncing it "wrong". people were consantly pronouncing it as Aw-Gust-EEN, when she wanted it to be pronounced as Aw-Gust-IN. maybe just spell the name as Augustin if you want it pronounced that way, because obviously people are going to assume a name with a "tine" ending is going to have an "een" sound - just like Christine and Albertine and Constantine. at a push, if i was told that the "EEN" sound at the end was wrong, I'd second-guess with an "INE" sound, like Madeline or Caroline or Clementine, but i certainly wouldn't interpret the letters "TINE" as "TIN" - literally because they end with an E!

like, I've heard the name Crew before, but Crews?! if you are insistent on naming your son after a ship holiday, at least go with Cruz, which sounds identical. Crews looks awful!

I’ve just read that the model Lucky Blue Smith, who already has daughters named Gravity Blue and Rumble Honey, has named his son Slim Easy. SLIM. EASY. When I read it. I just stared into space for several moments, sent a screen cap to my best friend, then came here. I feel like my understanding of the world has been forever changed. I am no longer the woman I was before I knew of Slim Easy Smith.
