Totally. I reported Jo Jones for her Skin + Me dodgy ways, so hopefully the ASA will be onto her for that. Problem is they have no teeth, there are no proper sanctions, so all that happens is they get a talking to - big whoop No disincentive. Whole thing is a sickener, and all the while it’s a little club and they’re all patting each other on the back with their sly adverts and making money from unsuspecting, vulnerable followers.

I used to really like Jo. She seemed so refreshing compared to Baggott but the constant advertising of Skin & Me and the eye lash serum just makes me sick!!

I also reported her. I complained to Skin and Me too I got a reply to say they would reissue the guidelines to them as they should be marked as an ad.

Good for you. Seems like every “influencer” is in love with Skin & Me at the moment. It’s so obvious they’re being paid!

Her latest Reels is cringe. She really thinks she’s something!

God I’ve just looked, 2nd hand embarrassment. You can notice on her Instagram videos much more than on her YouTube ones that her forehead looks about 20 years younger than the rest of her face. It’s like with Hughes and Hirons, stop pretending the creams work magic, it’s the botox that keeps them smooth.

I've never dyed my own hair, is what she's using any good?

Nope. If you go back to the very first video she did on dying her own hair she shows you the good stuff to buy. That was prior to her selling anything they’d pay her to advertise. I’ve been ordering off Coolblades the same as my hairdresser uses and I’m sure I’ve missed patches but my colour is spot on.

I listened back to Nadine's spot on BBC Radio London yesterday. I posted about it over on the Jo Good thread here .

To summarise, Nadine (who - because she is knowledgeable - I don't really mind, despite finding her quite shady) replied to a few questions with unsurprising answers, and was talked over by the always-pushy and crawling Jo Good, who sounded absolutely desperate to do an Insta live with Nadine.

Well, what about Skin + Me? She’s definitely incentivised by them as she’s their PR consultant and mentions them whenever possible, so... I fucking detest this holier than thou attitude. As if they are untainted by the money men and marketing people. Jo Jones can fuck off as well as far as I’m concerned.

ETA - just because they don’t accept cash, doesn’t mean they’re not incentivised in other ways eg free product, trips away, lavish gifts etc.

Surely she could have done a quick google and found that out? I don’t know anything about fragrance but I would have thought it odd that the amber we make jewellery from has anything to do with perfume.

Yes it’s really sloppy. She always goes on like she’s some expert too. Makes me wonder what her skincare knowledge is like. I’ve never actually checked if what she’s saying is correct.

When I’m in Brighton next although I think they have an online shop I’m definitely going into Eden who sell their own dupes. Their version of Portrait of a lady is excellent. They’re allowed to sell it because they’re vegan apparently so it’s all aboveboard.

Is this new wonder water similar to color wow dream coat? Its brilliant, but I'd try a cheaper alternative for sure. Was looking at the ingredients but nothing was jumping out as similar so maybe I'm wrong.

This woman is getting worse by the day. I’m surprised she doesn’t have as many threads as her mate Sali. She’s being called out for not following covid guidelines and her excuse is she has messages from people who say they cheer them up and that Jo has done charity work through lockdown. She seems to think that makes her exempt. She’s been getting shadier and shadier with her ads and now this.

She’s now posting all the messages she gets telling her how amazing she is. I used to like her, this week has really been an eye opener for me.

who are these people who think an undeclared sponsored video is an antidote to the pandemic.

She’s made a tit of herself with tonight’s video. Going on about how the perfumes all contain amber and showing the fossilised tree resin. None of those perfumes contain that. They actually contain the amber accord which is made of vanilla and other things. At least one doesn’t even contain that.

It wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t do a big lecture on it at the start as though she’s done her research.

That’s her all over, selling her opinions as facts because of her ‘science background’ (aka social sciences degree and 30yrs in beauty journalism). Trouble is, people take her at face value and believe that what she’s saying is true without any due diligence of their own.

As problematic as Nadine can be (speaking as ex beauty PR) am not sure she does filters etc. The photo was clearly photoshopped/or old as from a marketing point of view that looks better.
Misleading? Yes! Nadines fault... am not convinced?

Same. I’m beginning to hate her. Lots calling her out in a video last week about lack of #AD too!!

What I don’t get is the commenters who stick up for her. I’m 99.99% certain they don’t know her in real life so why go to the effort of defending somebody who is so obviously lying. The Covid ones astound me. All chipping in saying “they’re in a bubble”. How the hell can they not know that a bubble isn’t possible for them.

Ffs what is wrong with people? Too right they’ve had heat because of that video. They’re a couple of numpties who’ve got nowt better to do than make pointless videos about trivial things such as which beauty products to buy (for which they’ll receive a cut but don’t tell people). I wish they would disappear.
