I'm sorry but that 'vest' top is only fit for the ragbag in the chazza I'm afraid!
Quoting myself, but she made it herself and is very proud... however she complains about the price of cotton jersey and difficulties of bias binding but then doesn't want to spend money on clothes made from natural fabrics? make it make sense...

This thread has made me laugh. I'm a senior manager in a university and I wear vest tops to work. My boss who's the COO comes into the office in shorts and flip flops when it's this hot. The OP does look a bit of a scruffbag though.

Where do Mumsnetters work? The 1950s?
There is a disproportionate number of 6 figure salary earning females who never work from home (perish the thought!) and show up to the office in a skirt suit with tights, no matter the weather.

She has since added that this photo was taken of her wearing the offending vest on the weekend and now she's wearing it to work? I hope it's been washed in the interim, if not I think we may have solved the problem, it's not the sleeve length that the manager is concerned about but that she is a minger.
It looks like she's dragged it out of the bottom of the wash basket to wear it again.

Our local chippy is so good that I wouldn’t mind if they were preparing it with their bare a tbh. Worth it.

I was diagnosed 16 years ago. Im struggling with the heat atm my speech is slurred and I can't actually walk today. It will be better tomorrow when temp is a few degrees lower.
Ive had symptoms for 20+ years. But Dr's weren't interested. It took optic neuritis and losing my vision to get them to take me seriously
How long you been dealing with it x
I was diagnosed 18 years ago. Pretty straightforward for me as my late mother had it as well as a paternal first cousin.

I had Lemtrada x 3 and this is my first relapse in 15 years! Was absolutely devastate. Husband #2 has never known me be unwell with it until now but he’s being fab. Hoping o can get some form of DMT again.

Sorry you are dealing with it as well @50degreesnorth. Shame we can’t PM here, but instead of taking over this thread shall one of us start a MS support thread in advice?

On a thread about a woman being annoyed at DH WFH 4 days out of 5 this week (half term)
Just tell him 'that's fine. Don't even think about complaining about the noise or expecting us to keep out of the way'. And be noisy. And in the way.

Why are they such bleeps?? Also another asking if hes not even taking even ONE day off for half term, I havent demanded Mr C takes a day off, should I have done. They're off to various paid for childcares on the days I'm working. The dynamic in some of these gaffs must be miserable AF

Surely party bags are a piece of piss nowadays? Just order some rit off temu and sling a bit of cake in.
Depends on the demographic of whos hosting the party in my experience. You either get a packet of seeds/book/plant a tree on your behalf OR cancer riddled bubbles, UPF riddled icing and owl killing balloons

I can say with some confidence that round my way the owls will be ducked.

It's only ever about men that WFH though, my kids are older so I can work when they're off (and yes any rogue MNers reading, I legally can, I don't have core hours and the official policy banning kids when WFH was changed after COVID) but I do expect not to be disturbed if I'm on a call and people can wait until I'm free for me to do things for them.

And you know what everyone, including the husband respects that, because they all get the benefit of having a parent/housekeeper wife at home. No one is being a bleep trying to sabotage my job. Probably helps that the people in my house actually like me and treat me as more than just the bank account.

I have approximately 3 summer outfits that fit my large body and 1 is a bit tight. 😭🤣 I did the laundry this morning and it was dry in the sun by midday. Let’s hope the OP does similar.

I'm away at the seaside for half-term and the Wetherspoons ran out of burgers this afternoon. We need to organise this N Wales coach trip ASAP. I was sobbing and shaking and desperate for a handhold and an unmumsnetty handhold

Funnily enough my spoons ran out of burgers on sunday.

Did anyone see the response to the woman in the "homemade vest", that told her to make her own kaftans out of duvet covers?! Found it... 🥴
I only need a Polly pocket flannel to make a large, billowy dress for myself.
