Is it socially acceptable for an adult to have a ‘lazy day’
For context I am a single with parental responsibility 70% of the time, plus I work full time. Due to the summer holidays my DC are with their dad more this weekend. I have completed house hold task this morning and now I am sitting in front of the telly. However I feel guilty in doing so.
I would like to go and do something but I’m short on funds.
House is clean
House and garden all tidy apart from DC bedroom which they refused to tidy.
YABU- get off your bum and do something
YANBU- it’s okay to have a lazy day every now and again

Slightly off topic but is it ok for me to go to the toilet? I had a big glass of water and I'm bursting. Is that ok? I'm an adult, but I'm not sure if I am allowed? Is that a normal and ok thing for me to do?

What a bleeping twit.

I went to a funeral last night, got home and had two shots of rum, went to bed, got up this morning and ate a pint of ice cream, took a nap on the couch, and am now enjoying a four hour documentary on schools in Mongolia, as God intended. And I think I'm basically a brainchild for watching a doco lol.

On a thread about a 4 year old like afternoon tea and asking for similar but cheaper ideas -

'a 4 year old should have zero concept of 'the high life'....'

Some of them are so wet and pathetic. Can they do nothing without consulting MN first to see if it's ok?

I have been child free for the last two weeks - thanks to early school holidays and sending the wee buggers off to camp in DFrance.
MrBasket has gone up north (the horror!) to the Oasis gig in Manc, leaving me in peace.

I have slept in late, not done anything in the house, met a friend for lunch, bought some new shoes which I had no need for whatsoever, and tonight I watched a film I know my entire family hate. Utter bliss!

He's gone up north? Won't he die of malnutrition and/or hypothermia?

My husband would love to be an orthopedic surgeon but he hasn't got any HANDS. Can people try and be a bit more aware of their privileges before they post #bekind
Kindly, but my 4 husbands only have 3 heads , 4 legs and 2 hands between them all. Maybe your husband could try harder? *head tilt*

On the advice of Mumsnet I told him to take in ironing to save up to do a course and get a job with a 6 figure salary but he didn't. I've lined up some of my ducks, I'm just trying to get the others rounded up.

Yes, they shoehorn peri-menopause into everything. I saw a thread where the OP had a sore throat and was discussing soup recipes as all she felt like eating was soup. Along comes a poster telling her it’s “peri” and doesn’t even add any recipe ideas.

They have even said that the Salt Path people made up the story due to “peri” making her confused.
Had we even heard of perimenopause before most of us got banned when MN was popular?

If he's only just made consultant then he's only just started on the 6 figure salary - surely she should have considered this before marrying a NHS povvo!

And orthopaedics is the worst for any private work - he should have chosen his specialty better!
