AIBU to think my friends are awful. I'm having a 10 day hen party in Spain and they're all refusing to fly over for 10 days and stay in a villa. I've booked a stripper, a pottery class, a VIP table at a club and a butler in the buff which they're all refusing to pay for. Shall I just go NC or tell them how their behaviour has made me feel?
Christ I forgot all about Butler in the Buff. Is it still a thing? So many awful hen do memories. Such a weird and awkward idea.

There was one at a hen do I went to in 2019. Despite the fact that I've definitely done weirder stuff than that, I got really embarrassed! But he was lovely and very professional. Mortgage broker by day, apparently. The hen was a self confessed trash addict (he was a surprise for her) and the whole thing was gloriously tasteless, tbh... it was amazing!

I’d add ‘hosting’ to the words list. I cannot bear it! It gives me images of ‘mein host’ landlord types and Airbnb. No. Absolutely not.

It’s your parents coming to visit, or stay. duck off with this ‘hosting’ crap.

Thread by a woman pissed off that her husband has done sod all except get cross while she's spent the day entertaining family. The holes are mainly kicking off as she's had 3 glasses of wine and is breastfeeding rather than offering support. She clearly has a problem with alcohol and the kids should probably be removed immediately
It's so pathetic that it's hilarious

I'm trying to catch up on this thread asap, so apologies if this question has already been asked/discussed.

I've had this recurring idea that some of these baked beans vag pics are actually posted by weirdos for a reaction and possibly to get mumsnetters talking about their own vag's for their gratification and so on and so on. Wont say anymore because 🤢

Just a thought...

One recent phrase reply that pisses me off that seems to have come out of nowhere…. “ First post nails it …. as usual.” No it really doesn’t!

What the actual? Am I missing something here?
Oh god, my OH has been going on about grounding recently. He likes woo woo tit like this. Something to do with electrons? I dunno. I zone out when he bangs on about it. I’ll point him in the direction of MN.

I fear i am becoming old... nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing kids eat and enjoy it.
Same here. Most kids are good little trenchermen if they get the opportunity and their parents don't make them fussy about food. Yes, they have preferences, as do we all, but they are usually prepared to give almost anything a go if they see adults or older siblings eat and enjoy it.

I’ll throw in my daughter and her husband on holiday last year, in a pub, ordering a child’s fish and chips….. for their 4kg dachshund.
He was impeccably behaved, ate the lot and fell asleep.
To be fair even I thought she’d lost the plot with that one 😂😂
I hope they got him an ice cream afterwards.

:Grounding" products? What the hell are "grounding" products? What is "grounding"?

I tripped over the uneven pavement in our street a couple of months ago and only stopped falling when I hit the ground. Are flagstones a "grounding" product?

Only three?

She shows admirable restraint.

I'd have had three bottles and thrown the empties at them.

I 💯 % agree with you. Perverts trying (and succeeding) to get idiotic women to share anecdotes about their own fannies.

I've thought so for a while, actually. It just really doesn't seem like something a woman would do. If she's concerned about her health she'll go see a doctor, not post a gross picture on one of the country's biggest online forums. We know the place is infested with MRA types and perverts and a disgust for women often goes along with the former.

I guess perhaps it was inevitable in a space used largely by women even if it wasn't exclusively reserved for them. Men will feel threatened and get angry and try to destroy it, especially as it gets bigger and more influential. Not sure what the solution is, although better moderation and image control would be a good start.

The speculum shot, I think, might have been lifted from a medical article. I can’t see how or why any woman would insert a speculum and take a photo to share on Mumsnet 🤢

I'd have to be double jointed to even consider being able to do that! And who the feck even owns a speculum anyway - it's not exactly home first aid kit stuff.

Yep I only looked at one once after reading about it on tattle. That was quite enough.

MN didn't really take it seriously enough but there is no chance I'm going legs akimbo for a fan pic. Who the hell does that?? It's not like a medical consultant would come along and say "aha, this is x,y,z".

I'm pleased to see so many agree, it's gratuitous. Get thee to a surgery (if it's real)
