We have a live competitive under eating thread, "portion sizes in pubs and restaurants why are they so big"

View attachment 1198240
They're all so bleeping miserable. They shouldn't bother going out for a meal if that's what they're going to be like. If I go out for dinner, I do it because I plan to enjoy my meal, not moan and witch about it being 'too big'.

TBF, not that I want to be, but we have a lovely local independent pub, where the portions are so bleeping big - and I can eat - that I only ever order a starter or share a main. Otherwise, the waste upsets me and makes me feel bad for the kitchen, and I'm sure they'd make more money if they cut the portion sizes and therefore sold more courses. Love the place, really nice staff, etc - but I dont like to have to send food back

I went for a meal today and thought of mumsnet when I saw the calories on the menu😂 Ended up picking something I didn't really want because the calories were lower and didn't get a pudding. Sucks all the fun out of going for a meal!

“Karen” used to mean a particular type of uppity woman (not that I liked that either) but let’s be honest, now it means any kind of “old” (35+) woman who dares to exist in public. I think it’s a misogynist slur.
I'm 26 and I get called a Karen all the time, it's a title I wear proudly. 😃

Ive never wanted to create an account on Mumsnet, I’m a happy lurker. But seeing this. I’ve never wanted to create an account more and tell this person what an utter stuck up bleep they are.

Will I get banned on there for saying bleep?:ROFLMAO:

Am I "middle class" because my house is worth almost *half a million? Or am I "destitute" because I have less than thirty quid to last until payday? I'm totally confused!

*I've lived in my house for a quarter of a century, it's in a grotty part of London, it didn't cost anything like that amount when we bought it. Like lots of people my age, me and my husband have benefited from ridiculous house price rises and low interest rates. We're asset rich, but definitely cash poor!

Completely tone deaf post about how positive the increase in living costs is, op used up some mushrooms !
On the flip side earlier I spotted on where the Op of a thread about how she could move house without her neighbours knowing was told it was completely tone deaf when people were choosing between eating and heating.

If I’ve not been drinking and I’m not already in my bed, I’ll collect my man from a night out and vice versa. Part of being a couple is doing nice things for one another.

What does everyone think of the stepmum who didnt get her stepchildren easter eggs but got their 3 year old together one because he should buy his own kids eggs? I think its mean spirited personality she sounds nasty . If youre going to begrudge picking up an egg for them don't get with someone who has children.

Yeah I think that is spiteful. It's an Easter egg not a car!

Someone asked for help finding "children's middle class clothes" the other day. She was mocked pretty badly and asked the mods to delete her thread as she didn't wish "to cause offence". I thought, woah she doubled down! It's not ME, it's the bitter plebs! :ROFLMAO: I wonder if she really believed in that, or if she was just embarrassed the thread didn't go as expected. Shame, as I genuinely wanted to know wtf middle class clothes were!
